I found several interesting things reviewing DPR's previous games. Tried to note different habits; admittedly his mafia game was from 2014, but he had a 3P game recently and throughout I saw a lot of things he gravitates toward as a villager but does not do in separates roles.

I've posted about the 2014 game.

Anything else is fair game - have a look at the JN games as well if you like.

A) DPR is actually a pretty transparent villager. Some of his theories are out there, but he's generally pretty forward with what he thinks and will explain it at length if necessary. His attitude is typically congenial unless he feels attacked. He's event-focused (rather than player-focused) and typically juggles multiple suspects but not always aggressively.

B) DPR as [non-villager] can probably be described as "aggressive" - he's more player-focused, generally focuses on a smaller group of players and attacks on a logical level. His reads in general are more concise and the long, multi-paragraph explanations disappear. He's more "on edge". He's not afraid of posting or attention; volume isn't really reliable as a shortcut to reading him.

I think it would be fair to say that I play aggressively as either alignment. Folks who have played with me over the years can say more about that.

I don't know that I'd agree with your event-focus vs. player-focus estimation. I do think I've been fairly forward with what I think this game.

I also think it would be very fair and insightful for Shad to jump in and talk about the Old West game since he was the one that played.

After absorbing his games and reading his ISO in this one, this game looks a lot more like B to me - there are some oddities that stick out to me as weird but nothing that really makes me think he's a villager.

Up to our dust-up, you didn't express a scum read on me. We mix it up, now you see scum. If you were scum, that's pretty much the narrative I'd expect you to paint.

The argument me and him earlier the game was very similar to an argument he had with bopolis in a previous game (circle jerk vs. handjob club), but his distaste for that style of play never reeled in whereas here he's been more conciliatory and easier to handle.

This drifts it not dirty territory. I've been very clear that town (myself included) just lost a game, in part because I was very active in pushing others. That was in large part due to the fact that the mechanic in that game placed me in a position to fight (hence the theme Fight Club) and you basing my play this game vs. a game where I had to fight (5 out of 6 nights) is scummy. You are more than experienced enough to know this, which gets back to that narrative painting I mentioned above.

Which I prefer either way, but unfortunately the sudden change in even the more subtle aspects of his attitude are hard for me to chalk up to him trying to amend his villager game to the current meta.

tl;dr - I think DPR is a wolf and is one that is probably quite capable of going deep should sounder minds find their way to the graveyard.

I haven't read past the post I just responded to - gonna take a few minutes before I pick back up on the thread.

But I've replied above in blue.

Nutshell: I think you've pasted together a carefully thought out scenario, but when you slide into dirty territory at the end, it looks like a nicely setup mislynch with alibi.

Think DPR and Cory/Shad is v/v

Think DPR and Cory/Shad is v/v

I'm inclined to agree

maybe you are the villager in the three then

or maybe I suck and you're all villagers

WBK can you talk me through your read of Niniel?

Past experience...a similiar one where she was absent because sickness - seemed to not be posting much besides catch up - came out as town.

This doesn't seem particularly alignment relevant

Enough so that I'm not gonna vote her today.

I want to attack this but some internal safeguard is telling me "no" and I don't know why

Bold sticking to weak sauce instead of defensive?

Sorry guys, been dealing with 2 sick kids.

Anyway, my apologies to Sooh for my previous post, after reading again I didn't see what had pinged on me last night.

I'm not comfortable with the lunch on Kronos, not because I necessarily feel he is town but because I'm very suspicious of Manbat, early on he called out players about his playing style, Shad in particular about being able to tell if he's scum. With my town read on Shad, it feels like an attempt to pull in support from someone. Could be wrong but it's my take.

Dont feel too swell on Seph, as I stated before he was in the back and forth banter and it seemed to me like a pretty strong attempt at pushing suspicion to others.

My read on Clov is actually scum too and it's pretty much for the same reasons. Not much to build a case on for any of the three but it is still day 1. I think it would be a little freckles for all of them to jump on a train early on and stay there but I would still guess that two of them are scum.

With all I've had from Ed being majority drunk posting it's been pretty difficult to pinpoint my feelings there. Kind of strange though, as I remember him being more active and having more input.

My feelings on DPR are still the same. He always had more input than we've gotten here but his input is usually helpful to a degree, scum or not.

Killasandra still doesn't sit right with me but it could just be where she is new and needs to learn the ropes.

Kronos stated that he felt a townie vibe from Shad that was backed up by his partner being Cory and I agree with that. That's what I get off of both of them.

Song isn't really pinging for me so I don't really know which side to lean with her.

niniel hasn't shown me much either way.

1) Who do you feel Seph was putting suspicion on?

1B) Can you talk about why you think that makes him mafia?

2) If you had to kill somebody right now, who do you shoot?

I noticed the italicized "mafia," are they not referred to as scum anymore?

[v]Hallia[/v]

she is teh scum!

Kinda looks good on dpr imo

Shoddy intro

I ate the rest of my kid's gummy bears because he was bad.

As much as this made me laugh, I still don't feel good about you guys :(

inb4 wolves haven't posted yet

Darthe's intro seemed less... intense(?) than he usually is. Hard to put my finger on exactly what to say here but like usually I get a "My name is Darthe and this is how I'm playing suck it nerds" vibe but here feels more like "my name is Darthe and here's some reads."

I actually disagree and most of your posys read oddly to me.

I actually liked his post right after he did his I do and don't like there intros.

also i see you shad

i will make proper reads of you slot accordingly

aorn I have you polarized to cory villa shad wolf but we'll see as the game progresses

Maybe I just got confused here, but it kinda contradicts your op. Regardless I think I'm confused actually, as I know most of this is joking, I just dislike your banter for some reason.

[V]manbat [/v]

there is a 90% chance i will be useless reading cory this game but it's okay cause I'm just gonna hope he's a villager and nail his scumbros if he's not

also hi everybody else

This is the intro post I found pretty Damm odd

Super stressed but nothing that won't be finished eventually so can't really complain. Things are going pretty well

You?

I personally think that stress is a townie look on you, apparently.

this is the Darth post I liked, wasn't sure I had it in here.

I also kind of like clov, but I usually tend to try way to hard to read him and screw it up.

Ps. Soohza I hope you are town :)

also that cory post is because Cory and I have a history of doing that ~every game

nothing is odd about anything you have posted that is just your brain incorrectly attributing wolfiness to my posts because this is a game of perception

or you are a wolf

we'll see as the game goes on

That makes sense, FYI I really am starting to hate these same op people do every game lol.

I don't think anything you did was really scummy, more of I just had a bad feeling about your posts.

what makes you think Clov ia villagery, seph?

I'm not sure I agree given the gamestate

I just liked his vote, and the timing of it.

This back and forth votng Manbat the unvoting and pointing fingers every which way. Starting suspicion on someone then backing off only to start it elsewhere. Also the "I like his vote" comment. I didn't like it. Didn't like the explanation.

If I had to shoot one person right now it would probably be Manbat. He pinged first and he pinged hardest (giggity)

I'm liking Tigraine's re-entry where she goes over her reads again and changes some. The level of going from A to B is convincing.

You can call him scum - that's perfectly fine; I use the words anonymously (unless I'm trying to differentiate between mafia and any other factions/Indy's, I guess).  I italicized it because there's a very legitimate argument that putting suspicion on players is exactly what town is supposed to do.  You find somebody you think isn't town, and you push them so others see it the same way.

Not sure I follow you on why it's bad that he started pushing someone and then moved off, especially when his comments in the big post kind of fit with what he says below ("I got a bad feeling from your posts").  Do you think he was trying to distance from a teammate?

you're not ruining my experience man its fine

just sux when you're like "but I'm so villagy" and some people don't see it

given my village reads it makes me inclined to think the people who can't see it are just salty wolves who don't want to see me cleared

What's rule #2?

she just quoted seph three times and said manbat is scummy

she can't separate two villagers from eachother and is a wolf

.....

No.

I've said from the start that Manbat was in my "suspicious" list. After reading again I felt the vote by Seph on you was a good way to throw things off. Good strategy to vote for each other so you can claim later "we aren't on a team cause I votes him with no provocation"

As for my last post, I was asked 3 questions. I answered them

No.

look at the paragraph where she says "i don't like the 'i like his vote' comment, which seph posted, then she attributes that to me, who legitimately had nothing to do with the conversation outside of asking seph for his reads on you

which means her read of me is predicated on seph's read of you

which makes no sense

tell me how i am ever supposed to find that villagery
