May as well ask Nyra. And then do some side quests or just plow on? Not sure how useful the last side quests were. -
Camp Dreadfall Mafia Game -- GAME OVER -- MAFIA WIN!

Actually thinking about it, Tigs, it was such a bad mistake you could even have defended me for town cred and brought the game home that way. Painful realisation, lol. -

Thank you for the compliment. I'm not so sure about if I would have found the that sus or noti, I have a slight tendency to be naive about such things as it was a such a small detail that did not affect the game. I think it was also fairly convincing that it was more a mistake some playing on their own thinking of a three day old mail would have made rather than a calculating team. But that said it was tragically stupid of me. No idea how I was remembering 1* investigate as informant. And yeah town was totally happy to eliminate me. I would also have been thrown by the NK attempt on me, like I though Turin was pretty much cleared as if he was a wolf the NK would have to have been directed at me and I thought that was really unlikely. I hate this game, lol. When does the next one start? -

"It seems clear" that some people are keen on handing out personal insults without any knowledge of what was actually involved in making the series. "Most people agree" with you? Really? How did you come to this realisation? -

Hear, hear. Or here, here. Not really sure which, neither makes a lot of sense really. Though in Dutch there is a emphasizer which is "hoor" (pronounced like door or floor, not blood, flood, food or wood) which means roughly "hear" but in practice doesn't alter the actual meaning at all (so Ja, hoor means nothing other than Ja) so when you step on someone's toes you can simply call them a "Surrey whore [sorrie, hoor]" which has always tickled me slightly. Ja, hoor. -

While it appears we will never know what they intended with Min, a more equal polyamorous relationship with Aviendha and Elayne seemed fairly well underway. -
You are most welcome 🙂 It is always fun to share and exchange ideas with other fans. The lore is based on Eastern ideas of eternal, cyclical time. So yes - our age is the First Age, which progresses to the Age of Legends where the Bore is made so the Dark One can touch the world and it is repaired in the Third Age. Time goes on until the Seventh Age when something apocalyptic happens sending humanity back to the Stone Age for the First Age to start again. I'm not sure if it ever says in the books if things happen exactly the same, but I think Jordan clarified that each turning was different, though following the same major themes and history points. The thing is that in my understanding, classical Eastern concept of cyclical time includes the concept of Nirvana, that all souls are working towards. So for souls, time is linear, starting from the lowest origins going to Nirvana, just in the context of a cyclical universal time. In this sense, the Zen Rand's idea that the point of the Wheel is to try to do better each life makes sense. But in WoT, there is no Nirvana to escape to, so you cannot do better each life. You are trapped in an eternal cycle of balance - the brighter the Light, the darker the Shadow. For example in the Trolloc Wars, both sides knew, no matter how well they did, everything was going to come back eventually to the set of circumstances that started the Wars. However well Lews Therin tackles the Bore, the Pattern will adjust so Rand faces the same issues. Because the Pattern will not allow a victory for the Light any more than a victory for the Shadow. But of course in WoT there is always the question of what is true and what is an unreliable narrator? How do the Aes Sedai know how the fabric of the universe is made? I at least have never seen how Jordan answered these points.

I must say I'm with you on this. One of the things I find most funny about it all is how people constantly complain about Rafe making a big deal out of his favourite character Egwene. And so often this is followed up by something like "if I had my way, it would all be about Mat!". Yeah, cos true fans don't have favourite characters, lol. It is a real shame, a real shame. Definitely the first season could have been better, better choices could have been made throughout the show, but I am really disappointed. And this is the opinion of a fervent fan of the books for his entire adult life. -

Oh totally. I'm still trying to work on how not to be so active in the thread, as so far, that has not been working out so well for me. But I still have this naive assumption that I can influence the thread in the way I want to. Let's just say with mixed results so far, lol, if I'm being generous 🙂 -
Camp Dreadfall Mafia Game -- GAME OVER -- MAFIA WIN!
HeavyHalfMoonBlade replied to keyholder21's topic in DM Mafia Games
Totally - but as Turin was bringing up last game (though admittedly with Town players) when you are arguing and debating often your "I always had x as town" might not actually match your lists. Then it obviously comes down to how do you read it, but it would still be easier as a "fake" reader to only concentrate on a limited number of players and then invent whatever was necessary about their thoughts on the rest as necessary, whereas a list limits that ability. That said, I am standing by my take that I may never give a list again. -

Oh I'm not serious. I get winning feels good, I get taking those risks and seeing them pay off feels good. I just haven't personally experienced that yet, lol So when I say I'm not bitter... perhaps it would be better to say I'm trying, lol. -

And just to point out the smugness of the winning teams again (oh it wasn't difficult for me when we whipped your sorry butts, lol, LOOSERS!). Though just to emphasise, I'm absolutely not bitter at all. -

I may be misremembering, but as I recall you barely posted in that game, that is why your dissection of my case on DPR should have been blatantly obvious to anyone (not that I'm bitter, obviously). Keeping things consistent would be more difficult the more you interact with the thread, for any alignment. Though as someone that has never been a wolf I am guessing a bit there. -

Hi! Welcome to Dragonmount 🙂 You have struck upon a discordant note in the books' narrative, IMHO. Canon: there are no beginnings or endings in the Wheel of Time. The Third Age has played out an infinite amount of times. With what variation? We don't know. Necessary so that the characters and readers don't think everything must follow a set path: this Age is super-duper special and everything really is on the line in terms of victory for the Light or Shadow. (but isn't the Pattern all about balance?) The narrative doesn't work unless it is linear. If the story must come back to the beginning again, a lot of the tension and suspension is gone. But is it an unreliable narrator that really the fate of the world is at stake, or is it genuinely so, such as some sort of quantum paradox that the Dark One is imprisoned in all worlds for all time until he isn't? I don't think it is possible to deduce this, I think we need to reconcile it in our own headcanons in a way that we are comfortable with. That is my humble opinion anyway.

Also just as clarification point, I also don't mind so much people saying "you suck because you suck" but more the "you suck because you're new". Newer players have to be sussed, have to be pushed and all things that happen in game. It just feels a bit unfair when people can talk about "lol!me" but if a new player makes a mistake it is because all new players are bad. Anyway I think I have gotten my opinion across, I'll stop making an issue of it now. -
I didn't give a list the last game at all. Possibly I won't ever again, lol. (you guys were mean, lol)

Camp Dreadfall Mafia Game -- GAME OVER -- MAFIA WIN!
HeavyHalfMoonBlade replied to keyholder21's topic in DM Mafia Games
I think it is dangerous to allow open "bullying" of new players. 1) as it is not very nice for new players, obviously but also 2) it makes it too easy for wolves. In the Among Us game, Lenlo bullied Gud into dropping her suspicion of him because she had no idea how to play and how ridiculous it was that she was sussing him, and yet for a lot of people Lenlo's behaviour rang true as town. IMHO, that should never happen. If wolves need to play act as being pro-town while trying to influence new players that will be much more difficult for them and positively affect the atmosphere of the game. All IMHO of course. -

Thank you. You were probably slightly unlucky that I sussed you at all as I really was struggling to get a feel on the game at all. Something bugged me which may very well have been completely a misread on my part but I literally had nothing else to go on. For me getting lynched I think it was the confirmation bias that DPR sussed me and Dice, blocked us and then there was no NK. So obviously his sus was right. And then me working through the possible permutations apparently seemed to many people that I was throwing sus around every where. Which I wasn't, but I think was just a clash of playstyles. And the informant thing - no idea how that got stuck in my head, that was just outright stupidity I did not double check. -
