  1. Tried to work out a bit more about possible position. There are 17 shows at least ahead of WoT across the separate Nielsen lists. Bobs Burgers which at the very best is 13th place has 633M minutes compared to WoT's 427M. This would at a guess place Wot in a best-case scenario somewhere around number 30 overall, but more likely a considerable number of places lower than that. For the first time I am starting to think it's possible they may not even do a wrap up season even.
  2. Of course it is an achievement to get a ranking in a Nielsen top ten although it is in the original category and not the overall top 10. But for the show itself and it's hoped targets I cannot imagine it is great. For it's finale to be barely beating a show that finished 3 weeks prior can't be good. For it to have lost around 20% of its episode 4 audience can't be good especially considering the acclaim that has attached itself to the episodes. Word of mouth usually tends to have the opposite effect.
  3. Its back in the top ten original series but it's because of other series falling not an increase in viewing. This is the finale I think as well very poor viewing numbers.
  4. One video I found also pointed out that trying to defend the legs is difficult because your arms lack the leverage and position to defend against an opponent attacking from a lower position.
  5. God i had forgotten how truly terrible that show was.
  6. That description does ring a bell actually peak CW.
  7. Personally I don't see a massive overlap with WoT. It has some very heavy BDSM, rape and sexual themes throughout the series. It also has some very graphic depictions of violence and gore. It is not those things that soured me on the series it is more his Ayn Rand objectivism themes that bled into the series later that really soured me on the series as well as learning more about Goodkind. I enjoyed the different magic systems that where present in the series and thought they were explained and followed well. I don't remember the high ground stuff I think I only managed 3 or4 episodes before quitting. As an aside I'm fairly sure in melee situations high ground is not the major advantage people seem to think it is.
  8. I have a funny relationship with the series I started reading it when I was 15 or 16 I think and enjoyed the series for some time. As I became aware later of Goodkinds detestable views and him being an Ayn Rand devotee led me to reassess parts of the series in a much less favourable light and Goodkind in particular much more so. Attempting to make the first book at a CW safe for kids level was an insane call. I watched some of the show but it was truly horrendous, I think the only thing I liked about it was the actress who played Kahlan.
  9. If we are using this board as an example then I would hardly describe it as an unending procession. Maybe it is different on other apps but I am not active on any of them so I don't know. This board has a definite lean that is not what you describe. Probably the only other places I see reactions are IMDB reviews and Youtube and both of those also seem to skew heavily towards show positivity.
  10. I'm still not sure about the true power stuff, it could be or maybe it could not be. If so does it mean that the true power is visible to a woman wielding Saidar? I think it the manner in which the existing story lines are being managed and the extensive additional story lines have taken time and resources away from other areas that is the biggest issue for most people. I don't think I have actually seen anyone advocating for a direct 1 for 1 reproduction of the books from either side of the fence.
  11. Is there any way to actually find out the number?
  12. I would really like a notification and explanation for when content is moderated/deleted.
  13. Probably hard to tell. Last I heard it was now a possible proposal rather than an official announcement. But it would potentially make filming outside the US very difficult, although daddy bezos does have an inside track with the orange merkin so who knows what type of advantage that may yield for him. I mean how would you work out the tariff for a show like WoT to start with significant filming outside US but some of the work done inside US I assume and for a streaming market? Do you increase the subscription? How do you work out the % on that? It's another brain fart from a fool IMO.
  14. That is not right. Siuan did not know in the books. No Aes Sedai where aware that the Rod shortened lives till after the Kin's true ages were revealed in the Gathering Storm. Siuan may have learned after Elayne and co rejoined the rebels but certainly not before.
  15. My guess is we will see a bump up to around the 500 level for s3e7 because its got a battle scene in it and then maybe around 530ish for the finale because they tend to get a bit extra because people tune in again to watch the last episode of the season even if they have skipped episodes. But 470 is not good.
  16. It is still not the same as the use the Tower sisters used it for and remember that Siuan has no idea that the Rod shortens life spans or was used for binding criminals in the AoL.
  17. Well let me think S3e1 and S3e2 and S3e3 and s3e5 and S3e6 and S3e7 and S3e8 where all weak, if you are keen to know why (which I don't think you are) you are more than welcome to revisit the individual episode threads to examine my analysis.
  18. Must have been super difficult to film those scenes even if they had the dialogue playing pre recorded off camera.
  19. Nope just thought it was worth seeing a breakdown of the numbers of crew and extras
  20. “These are real numbers, I’m not making this up. 270 shooting days, 2500 crew members, 9000 extras, eight visual effects houses in seven countries, 2600 arrows, 2000 pairs of boots, 114 wigs, and 33 gallons of blood — to give you an idea what it takes.” This is for season 2 so I am not sure of its per show budget. Damn I look at the number of extras and think how tiny WoT looked for extras.
  21. Especially with GoT I imagine a large amount of the increase would be to cover increasing cast wages. Largely unknowns at the start of the run eight seasons in they would be getting a bigger paypacket.
