  1. What part of that is stupid? Does the weave for compulsion not exist? Or does it only exist after book 4? Why couldn't it be possible that the show would repeat Rand's channeling Flashbacks from Season 1, in Season 2 by showing how Lanfear manipulated those around Rand with the OP?
  2. I could be mixing up my fantasy series, but I think WoT mentions a herb for that. Ahh here it is.. Heartleaf. https://wot.fandom.com/wiki/Heartleaf And while WoT is pre-industrial, It's setting isn't Medieval, it's closer to Renaissance... and people got freaky during that time period. I must have missed that one?
  3. There's a quote from Mat in the book's that's relevant here... The "royal" only works because of the power dynamic involved. Remove any type of power or legal dynamics, and things get a lot more messy... which is precisely what happens in the less formal versions of those same types of relationships...
  4. Polyamory doesn't mean everyone is present all the time when things get spicy, nor does it mean that everyone has a relationship with everyone else. E.g. Elayne & Aviendha can have a closer relationship with each other, but individually have a relationship with Rand, and Min can have her own independent relationship with Rand. Even in the books, Rand isn't in a Polygamous relationship because in all technicality he doesn't get married to Elyane, Min and Aviendha.
  5. First season, most of the channeling was very white. Almost as if we the viewer weren't capable of seeing the individual threads of the one power. This season, we're starting to see the different colors of the one power as it's explained to us. When we had the scene from Rand's POV, his channeling had color, where as Lanfear's had no color. I believe this was intentional to show that Men cannot see what women are doing with the one power, only that he can sense that she's doing something. As for the threads and them "grasping at them". RJ explained that they don't originate from them. https://www.theoryland.com/intvmain.php?i=6 To add to this, Channeler are able to use the one power to channel the elements from around them towards a purpose. So they can use the One Power to draw Water out of a Stone. Or Earth out of Water. Or Fire out of Water. There's a passage concerning Egwene and Heat. and how it can be extremely dangerous... later Egwene was shocked when she found out how Rand did the very thing she was told NEVER to do with heat as that would kill her if she tried it. I find it funny that I remembered this random niche detail about Rand pulling heat in, yet if Egwene tried she could die; yet forgot that Lan apparently fought in the Aiel War. But somehow I get accused of not having read the books all the time....
  6. Have you seen their system of measurement, let alone their currency systems?!?!
  7. Huh, just checked, and you're right! Oddly, my prime video tab text is now showing up in Spanish. O_o
  8. 100% agreed. I really wish someone could go to the citadel and see if there's any notes one how the power actually scales, not just aging! lol.
  9. Logain was ++2 to Rand's ++1, Saying Rand was his Equal isn't that much of a stretch when even to this day we have no idea what the difference in terms of power is between ++2 and ++1 is. That's not even getting into Logain's madness and him still believing he's the dragon. His ego wouldn't let him admit that Rand's just a wee bit more powerful then Him. As for Egwene/Nynaeve. Nynaeve being 10x stronger than Egwene doesn't mean she's stronger than Rand. The way the show magic works vs book magic, I don't know if we know if they know a channelers potential or just what they are capable of at this point in time. If they can only sense what they are capable of right now. Nynaeve is easily 10x more powerful then Egwene right now. Nynaeve was easily a thousand times more powerful than Egwene in Season 1, and that gap can easily close as Egwene trains.
  10. The scene with Egwene/Nynaeve wasn't in T'a'R, it was in the Tower. It's like someone in the editing room recycled the same footage just before she looked down at Nynaeve's ring. I don't know if this was a mistake in the editing room, maybe some footage they had just after looking at the ring was unusable so they used the best footage they had and hoped we wouldn't notice, but this episode was objectively NOT the best edited episode this season. The scene with Ishy & Min was obviously intentional.
  11. Two things. 1. She had Saa in her eyes after she blinked. 2. Eye of the World Aginor literally regrew his face after embracing the source.
  12. This is the topic for Season 2, Episode 4: Daughter of the Night Director: Sanaa Hamri Writers: Dave Hill / Rafe Judkins This topic is for discussing Episode 4 only. You should expect to encounter Full Spoilers Up To Episode 4, and full book spoilers on this topic.
  13. I hope we get a version of his prison scene from TGH after they capture him this season. Nothing like having a human send a chill up your spine.
  14. Sort of a dead end.... is that a pun? (The DF social and the scene with the dead tuatha'an both = 1st episode, so we can't go by episode 1 & episode 2 cast list) As far as I can tell, the cast list, also doesn't list any of the actors in the DF social, except for Niko & Ishy.
  15. Yeah, he completely missed a line about Elayne going to fetch the blankets. Like he stepped out of the room (BRB style) and never bothered to rewatch the scene(s). This is probably one of the few shows I've ever rewatched (within the first week of release) just to catch small details I've missed. Most shows I rewatch, I typically do so years later, and they tend to be of the comedy variety or procedural variety. (The IT Crowd. CSI, etc). I will definitely say, episodes 1-3 were better on 2nd watch then 1st watch.
  16. Same. I believe the pattern in the skirts have a story attached to them that we as the audience don't know about yet. It's something I look forward to in the BTS.
  17. It's really tough to say. The hair's the right length. She's around the right size. The face could be right, but it's to fuzzy to really be sure. The clothing is slightly different, but that could just be a new day. This scene with her "mum" (I upped the contrast in this one) We see the girl has some bead work in her hair. Her mom's dress has several "rows" on the bottom before we get this large solid color with lets call them "flowers" with 4 shapes in the middle and "triangles" at each corner. Now compare the dresses on the people we see Fain killing. They have the similar "rows" and "teeth" on the bottom, but lack the "flowers" in the middle. But, since the X-Ray calls this out as Tel'aran'rhiod, if they keep the thing about "clothing" changes by thinking about it...
  18. This Guideline can probably be updated to include language found in the show In honor of Uno bloody Nomesta, I think we can allow the use of "feck", a word that he used with reckless abandoned, so long as it is not directed at Members or Real People.
  19. Speaking of visions... I wouldn't be surprised if they're moving the "smell violence" (Hurin's ability) and show that as "see visions" of that violence, in place of "smell emotions" because to paraphrase Uno. Who the feck do you show Perrin smelling Faile's contradictory emotions every 5 seconds?
  20. I compared the two side-by-side and I'm not 100% convinced they're the same, but I'm not 100% convinced they're different either. Given my book knowledge, I wouldn't be surprised that Fain is turning against people who were at that meeting.
