Also, I always found credence in the Perrin/wife rumors and was not at all surprised to see it depicted

Same, I think most people just said "don't jump the gun on a rumor", but I was never saying "that is absurd and never going to happen."

Honestly they should of went with 2 hour episodes. I think that would of allowed them to slow things down a bit so the pacing doesn't seem to go from warp speed to an entire episode of them in one spot.

I would have loved it. And you. And certain other book readers. But the episode length and season length was set by Amazon, and Rafe had to contend with that and actor scheduling demands and requirements.

    No chance.

I can't even deal with comments like the one you responded to. I'm just waiting until 12/24.

    13 days couldn't have passed.

They fled Shadar Logoth on Aine 20. Nynaeve finds Lan very soon after he fled the city with Moiraine, presumably early morning. They arrive at the Aes Sedai camp on Adar 5. Nynaeve spent that long tending to Moiraine before Lan went searching for help.

  4. If we go by the timeline on the website, Nynaeve's been with Lan and Moiraine 13 days before they get to the Aes Sedai camp. The show hasn't conveyed the passage of time that well.

And it's not entirely believable to make the comment Nynaeve did. She picked up Liandrin had it out for Moiraine and was obviously not in line with her. And it might be a bit different than Nynaeve's tact in the book, but Nynaeve refusing to talk to or bond with anyone for an entire episode while having no access to her inner monologue would mean she gets no character development.

  5. Moridin is Ishmael's soul forced into a new body by the Dark One. Ishamael and Lews Therin are different souls. Ishamael is not and has never been the Dragon. Someone above mentioned that Ishamael is tied to the Dragon to repeat the same fight over and over. Ishamael says that, but it's not necessarily true.

Ishamael/Moridin and Rand become linked in book seven when Rand is chasing Sammael through Shadar Logoth. Both Moridin and Rand use balefire, and their balefire shots connect at one point. Balefire canceling out balefire... an after effect was a strange spiritual and physical link between Moridin and Rand, which Rand takes advantage of at the end of the series. (We don't get a ton of detail, but we also know Rand asked the Finn's in the Red Arch in Tear how he could survive Tarmon Gai'don, and we could surmise they gave him some riddled answer that involved this strange link.)

The evil of Shadar Logoth might not be a new evil, but the Dark One's evil pushed out of phase with itself. There's more to puzzle out there that I don't have time on.

The Two Rivers and Shadar Logoth both would've been very expensive sets to build for just one episode each and both episodes made extensive use of CGI.

I wouldn't be surprised if they ended up blowing the budget on those two episodes and then had to scale back on episode 3 and 4 in order to save the remaining budget for the later episodes.

Breen's Spring was built from scratch, too. Plus I'm sure they'll have made some physical sets sets Tar Valon, too. Maybe even Fal Dara? But definitely Tar Valon.

Edit: I'm talking about city streets and not just rooms.

The only sign he actually sees on-screen is that the horse rears once at the farm. This is after Matt has ridden the horse from the town without being thrown, and during the time that the three farmers armed with bows surround the party. After that Matt continues unimpeded with his horse. People here have said things like "Owyn was sick." That was not in Thom's story. What change is there between Matt and Thom, shown on-screen, from when he meets him in town to when they arrive at the farm? Answer: not a single thing is shown. The story of Owyn, is entirely unrelated to Matt, except for the one incident of the horse rearing. If a single animal, a single time, shows signs of discomfort, is that the sign that one is a male channeler? Meanwhile Rand, the DR, is right beside Thom and he sees nada. There IS a reason for Thom's conclusion about Matt and I've said it before.

    Mat's irritability and personality change.

Remind me of the dialog of Owyn getting sick.

The fans of the show want Thom to be motivated to think that Matt is a channeler. And that Thom thinks Rand is not a channeler. That's understandable. But wanting it, is not the same as motivating it on-screen.

Thom feels like he is seeing the signs Owyn had before Owyn's first channeling event.

You all are so calm , I wish I could be that way . It’s difficult for me to see my friend Matt played by a guy who looks 35 years old . I will keep reading and watching. I have to listen to the books again just to keep my sanity.

Barney Harris is 24 at this time, younger during filming.

People get sick, a horse can rear once, and Thom and Matt haven't been together long enough for any noticeable evolution. Heck, I know he has the Dagger, and I didn't notice anything until he reached the farm. Even then, nothing about those issues imply that he was channeling, which is the reason Thom told the story about Owyn and warned about the AS.

Characters can be in error and make incorrect judgments within the story. Thom's seen one case of it. It affected him personally. He has presumably not read any textbooks about the signs. He's relating to his personal experience. Entirely believable.

    Question:

Do we know who "Elusha" is? When Logain was shown in Ghealdan, the captions attributed one of the shadows speaking to him as "Elusha".

Some people did some checking, and it's not a name used in the book series. So we don't know yet. Seems odd they'd name the voice unless they plan to do more with it.
