I'll start from the bottom up.

Well, that's what I'm trying to find out. Like people have said, I haven't contributed with too many reads. 

 

Can you talk to me about Cass/Monstr?

 

 

Monstr was the first player I put pressure on, and he really did not react well. It was his interaction with me, failing to give reasons for listing his "core group of likely townies" and only asking those 5ish players for input on others, that made me start to dig into him a bit. Of course, his answers and interactions with Nyn ended up leading to his removal, and since Cass has come in, has done fairly well at getting some gameplay going. My read based on Monstr was leaning scum, so when I posted my list, i kept cass there, as she hadn't posted much. I'm leaning null right now because she's done a bit to balance it out, and I like her posts / questions, so we'll see. The initial suss on monstr could've been due to him having a play-style that just didn't sit well with me, and his avoiding my questions. On her own merits, cass is alright so far.

That's kind of how I feel at the moment. I opened her ISO, so I'll go through her posts now shortly. If you'd like I'll post my findings before going on with my list.

My main issues with Monstr is that I played with him in a game on Mafia Universe not too long ago, and he displayed very much the same behaviors there as scum, as he did here this game. Clearing him for ATE is just not going to cut it, because he does that as scum as well. One thing I noticed especially was that in that game he had an early post at me saying something to the effect of "I hope you're not pocketing me". This game too he had the same sort of post with the same content. While it's not very conclusive evidence it was enough to have me pause and make note of it to my hydra partner.

Pral - two posts. Usually someone whose reads I value as town, difficult to get as scum, but tries hard. I think his "this is too much to read" might be possibly on the towny side, only because I think scum Pral would make more of an effort to form reads and line up mislynches. As it is he has almost zero thread presence.

Shad commenting on Zander's general level of participation but not voting him on it (yet) is Towny imo.

 

Interested to see Zander's reaction and effort from here. He still feels lacklustre at present and I associate that more with Wolf Z in a team he can't get hyped about (ZANDER! NOOOOOOOOOOOOOO) but early direct pressure isn't the way you figure him out imo.

 

Eldrick's comment on keys to reading Zander is spot on imo. Trying hard to be objective about points of tinfoil this game and don't actually have Eldrick leaning scum aorn. He's less slimy in feels then I recall from scum games of his. Watching Sooh.

 

Calder and Random's response to Eldrick's Zander comment felt off. Calder because it's the reverse of my Zander understanding, Random because how could he agree if he's never played with Zander Scum?

 

No idea on Darthe. Not someone I want to D1 lynch.

Reading back on Cass I think the initial Monstr read may just have been paranoia from last game. Cass has some reads and comments that I feel are in line with mine, and while there are a few things I would like clarified I think I'm pretty satisfied with leaving this slot out of my POE today. Dunno if it's a clear town read yet though.

Dice (Nyn) - I agree with Cass that I don't think Nyn would go so far as scum. It hasn't been that long since I was scum alongside her, and this is not a side of her I remember from that game at all.

As for Dice, it makes me scared to make a decision either way there yet. I would say that initial feelings have been positive so far

hes off cass. his tone isnt right. he isnt approaching it in normal town zander you can see it in 3 posts way. the faact that he didnt jump out of his skin when i voted him is setting off alarm bells. especially as he jumped straight at random for voting him.

If youre Town this is another of your stupid reasons for Scum reading someone like Random last game where you Scum read him all game because you believed in 2 mins he was notified of me being IC in his QT by someone who would have had to be around, check and see the message in the QT and then make the retraction post in 2 mins.

Random bugged me in small doses but I don't really have a head for him yet. More things to work on.

I remember a point Marsh brought up last game about Random being overactive as Scum.

 

If that game he was super active and Town, I know its early but I felt last game his posts had more umph and substance to them then they have so far.

Last game started on a weekend, and we had a LOT of fluff before we got into real gameplay IMO. But fair is fair, I'll do a quick dig-in now that I'm all settled:

 

Darthe: He's matching his last game fairly consistently so far, in which he was town, so for the moment I've got a slight town lean at the moment. I prefer to go off current game content more, but with what he's posted so far, this is all I have to go on (he does notice interesting things players say however, which can be insightful)

Calder: Tough to call. I'm trying to ignore what little meta I have on Calder, because he completely fooled me last game as SK (i thought him town) However, ignoring that still gives me a town read based on current game's play, but not a strong inclination just yet.

Zander: Last game as IC he was twice as belligerent as he's been so far with his scumhunting. There's not a whole lot of activity in comparison, but he's not flouting himself as the town champion he was early last game. I don't feel great about this so far. Slight scum lean

Marsh: IC. duh. (could use some input from him however)

Dice: It's surprising that my posts this game haven't drawn the scrutiny from Dice I faced last time, which could be a bad sign for him, or could mean my play's been a bit more solid this game. I've got a slight town vibe from him for the moment

Notbob: He's been enigmatic for me. Asked some odd questions (Asking hypothetically about a Zander Vig shot?) but I haven't been feeling one way or the other quite yet.

Sock: Sooh hasn't really posted much substance in my opinion either way. Eldrick is doing a good job seeming like he's looking for scum, but I felt a bit weird about how he was so quick to vote manbat after our interaction, and seemed to agree with everything I said. This could be paranoia - I'm not used to being agreed with frequently in mafia. I'm giving the benefit of the doubt for the moment, but that just equals a null read

Pral: Blank

Shad: I like Shad's play so far. I'm following his logic, he's posting concise yet thoughtful content. If he's a wolf, this is some spectacular play so far, but it is still early. Probably my biggest town lean so far

Amega: Again, not much at all

Cass: I don't know enough about manbat to setup any reads for Cass, but prior to the switch i'd have leaned scum on this player. We'll see if more activity changes anything.

Random: All - American Hero

It was to Random irt Zander snap voting random. It felt like a Town!Zander move. You mentioned earlier that that is what Town!Zander does, and I noticed him doing it here.

 

Random posted a reads list, including a scum read on Zander. Zander's response was to vote random. That's town!zander.

I never said "too far". I said "so far". This has nothing to do with her being in the right or the wrong, and everything to do with the strength of her reaction, which I believe wouldn't be this strong if her slot was scum.

The only thing I'm left with is finding the motivation to post these posts.

As a townie, I think this isn't very constructive type posts, except for gauging reactions I suppose.

As a scumbag, I don't see the need to do so. It's D1, and the odds are significantly greater we lynch a townie than a scum to begin with, and leaving open votes without attempting to explain, not even when prompted, is risky behavior for a scum. Remember, it's far worse for the scum team to lose a member early than for town.

As a traitor I also don't see the need to point quite so clear signs towards yourself, that is assuming there's still a traitor in the game.

re monstrs core  he asked people he has meta with is how i looked at it and whose responses he was happy with. It is a common thing to ask opinions of people you are trusting or who are on the same wavelength as you.

 

He gave a clear, concise defense of someone I was beginning to FOS. He didn't jump onto a train, he provided information I had asked for and needed to make a decision, and that just feels town at this point in the game. HIs comment and subsequent dealings with Zander:

Notice tho that I voted Zander and he hasnt said a WORD about it despite replying to things posted after it.

 

Combined with Zander's OMGUS vote on me after my first reads list makes me wonder if my town lean on Dice following this exchange didn't ruffle his feathers. Feeling a bit more confident on my Zander read too.

I can't base a read off that, so I went on what I had with the other head of the hydra. 

 

For Calder, his activity ceases around the same time. Most of it is regarding sandwiches and whatnot, but that's how he started last game as well. his few game related posts didn't give me huge vibes either way, but it's an early D1 read. 

 

What troubles me is both Zander AND Darthe's snap votes on me. Sure Darthe asked questions, and him claiming he won't read is both false and perfectly in line with his play, but Zander literally said he just did it as OMGUS, which seems a bad reason when responding to an entire reads list. Zander also doesn't seem the type to just vote when town and scum hunting, he's well-spoken enough to create a case or at least an FOS

This sort of erratic behavior is generally not something I associate with scums. They tend to be at least attempting to make logical arguments and show their " thought process" while NotBob is flat out refusing to show what he's doing or thinking. I believe, incredibly enough, that NotBob is town.

As for my question to Darthe, this is simply me trying to see what other people think. Perhaps you didn't like the wording, but this is me trying to get Darthe in the game a bit and see where his head was at. Nothing more.

I'm biased as being part of the exchange leading up to that, but no, I didn't feel Nyn was out of line. It seemed she might've taken a few comments too personally, but manbat was taking some wild swings, and was ridiculous in basically saying "if you don't follow my lead, I'm quitting". Very frustrating. I totally got where she came from

So I'm still trying to catch up but also simultaneously reading the game in real time from when I got up this morning. So based on the last five or ten pages, I've got a partial reads list that goes kind of like this: 

 

Town: Ironeyes

 

Town lean: 

Random--Seeing lots of WIM here

Dice--Seems to be his usual tunnelling self

Darthe--Engaged and WIM-y

 

Half-n-half:

Zander--I agree with Random that he's playing a lot more defensively than usual, but I'm not sure that's scummy. 

 

Scum lean: 

Sooh--The AtE five pages back or so reminds me of the last time I played with Scum!Sooh, which I think was Demons Cove

Notbob is my top contender for scum. I asked everyone for their view on him, to see if what I was seeing had any substance. A different outlook on the situation. If I had gotten a bunch of responses, there would be town ones in there too, and could gauge them all to see how well my read was.

 

What did I get? Nothing.

 

It doesn't read as a reaction test to me. It reads as someone that doesn't want to put in the effort. Someone that just wants to draw attention.

 

The beginning might have been called a reaction test if he had done anything else since. Everything he has commented on was people's views on Sock. Whether or not they were voting.

 

He hasn't responded to my inquiry about why copping us would be a bad idea. Because he knows we are town. Because he's scum.

 

If anyone sees fault in my observations, please mention them. I'm sick of being ignored.

Then its basically just a Shad read and a lot of nulls.

Far too little content to work from. Wouldnt lynch there today. That is as far as I would go.
