I think one thing I've learned playing this game even with players that I know are capable of fooling me as a wolf, once they hit a certain level of purity I just decide "either they are playing the greatest wolf game of their career or they are a villager" and funnily enough I've never been burned doing that. I think Tom in his prime might have been able to pull that off, but I'm not sure who else. Potentially Pizza.

 

I'm still waiting for the day someone truly blows me away. I thought this about Sunbae / Jim Halpert in the Super Smash Bros. mash where he played the most villagery game I'd ever seen, but he was just a villager.

Cory I hate running on pure meta. I also hate going through a lunch im not 100% on and it turning out wrong and not knowing where to go or what that person thought before they get EoD FoR treatment.

 

This is mostly fact checking, cant really put my thumb on whats bugging me here but it makes me wanna sleuth

I think I guess the one thing that has me paranoid is that I feel the wolves would have started bussing Dice by now because it's not like I'm going to be talked down and usually when I'm set on something the wolves act in whatever way tries to salvage their game.

 

If Verbal is a wolf though, this is pretty invalid, because he hasn't been around to make that vote so expecting a bus from him is silly.

 

And a good deal of the time wolves get stuck being non-voters anyway for whatever reason, so it's not like it's something they "always" do. This is why I generally don't like "universal thread" reads because it muddles context.

The top ~5 posters all being villagers to me is another brain gnawer but I think it makes sense in context if the wolves are something like Verbal/dice/Sooh.

Sooh's up there enough-ish.

Verbal I've seen multiple times with a very low post count as a wolf.

 

Dice obviously has known volume problems as a wolf.

 

Even if Kat's slot was scum, she's not someone I'd really ever expect volume from.

dice having more posts than Tina is funny if you think about both of their ISOs in context.

 

Just in terms of how much each has contributed to the game, how much each has pushed forward and how much each has done. Tina has done infinitely more than dice in her posting in what looks like a very similar timeframe. It's what makes Tina a villager and what makes dice a wolf.

It's also a shame that if he is a wolf his teammates aren't really involved, either he has been given up on or they're heavily trying to stay neutral in this.

ISO his game in Chrono Trigger, it's only 23 posts, and you'll see glaring obvious differences.

 

He gives spot reads, discusses who he thinks are the wolves, is just generally sharing what he's thinking.

 

He also sometimes is a really obvious villager. World's End and Nightmare Before Christmas are good examples.

His scope is much larger as well.

 

And the way he presents his "reads" is different. His villager game is about pointing things out as they happen, even if he's not playing in real time (he points them out as he gets there in the thread).

 

Here he doesn't make reads until he has a "narrative" and list and all that and it's all super safe stuff.

Yeah, this one is super obvious to me.

 

By like his first ten posts in World's End he's warring with Zander, voting him, calling out his reasoning and saying why it's wolfy and not genuine.

He does the same thing to Pizza in NBC in his first handful of posts and goes @ a bunch of other players.

 

He re-assesses on both eventually and makes the right read over time (except he flips on Zander when Besie dies in the WE game, loldice) but Dice calls it out when he sees something that gives him the stink eye and pushes it. The point being he doesn't feel like he needs to "understand the thread" before making reads and there's no build or anything; he comes out shots firing because he doesn't really care what other people think.

I think Verbal's another very high % wolf. Skimmed through his ISO again and his posts are all "things that look good" type stuff but no "Verbal trying to interact to get reads" which I think is a major part of how he approaches the game as a villager.
