Your wrong there Shad. Multiple times ive tried to talk with Zander about things other than his baseless push on me, but he always brings it back to us. Always. Sometimes he shifts the thread back to us when no one even mentions me. Its horrible.

As for other reads, ive had plenty. I dunno why you dont remember them. Id love it if you ISOed me/we hashed this out sometime so we can lay it to rest.

I also have yet to see an argument saying Zander is town that isnt 99% meta dependent. So yeah.

So hows it going. Who do you think are scum/town? How do you feel about say... Z and Pral specifically.

Ok. I still dont really understand why hes LOCK TOWN for so many people is the thing. Like fine, dont think what hes doing is scummy, maybe thing its even alittle towny. But I dont understand how he is 100% CLEAR on D1, with no cop views, no flips, no nothing. Just gif posting. Its getting to the point where its frustrating and I get unreasonably angry at the whole thing cause from my POV theres just no sense to it. Its force of personality.

The way people speak about him though is just... like im scum for even entertaining the idea that hes not town. That seems to be peoples only problem with me, is I dont agree with them on how to read Zander. Its frustrating man.

So if Rack flips scum who would you look at next?

this is all just from pg 80.

i feel like youre TRYING to come across as frustrated towny and even though youre prolly frustrated its cause you know im right.

Why??

Because in my judgment it's a topic that I will continue to learn more from by observing rather than directly engaging.

This is what I'm looking at.

If I'm wolf Rackcitysteelers and there's a town Nomi Sunrider who has questioned my alignment, threatened to vote me, and didn't do it, and has unvoted his main suspect (Dice) and then not followed up by voting for me, who also has votes, and instead, asks me a non-threatening question...

I sense a weakness, an opportunity to attack, a path to victory.

My unvote of Dice had a lot to do with creating that exact situation.

I want to talk about Rack and his reaction to that. There are a lot of movements missing that you will expect from a wolf Rack.

No claim,

No push onto Nomi Sunrider,

No alternate theories as to who the scums are, really. Just suspected Zander, and realized he made an error in his thoughts, and unvoted Zander.

Now, if he's a brand newbie scum, I'd call it choking under pressure. But he's probably not, assuming meta data I don't have but am getting second hand from this thread and the signup sheet.

I think he has a duty to his scum team to do something there, anything but what he did do.

On 10/30/2015 at 8:51 AM, Nomi Sunrider said:

And to be clear, a town Rack *often* will do any of those things too.

And, since my own alignment is still in question, it's not as useful data to the rest of you as it is to me.

Scum rack should have tried to survive there, and I was low hanging fruit.

None of this is inherently wrong, and the bold would - in theory - be especially true.  The problem is not everybody plays in a way that you would expect.  I mean, I could easily point out that town!Rack should be trying to redirect votes on him onto somebody else - probably ANYBODY else.  At the end of the day, he would only know his alignment and no matter how great he felt about somebody else, there's always a chance he's wrong about them.

That being said, I don't mind these posts coming from somebody that is (presumably) unfamiliar with the site meta that he's accustom to.

If Zander and Lenlo are doing the Zander and Talya thing I will scorch every fjord in Nunavut hunting you down, but you've probably already won this game.

perhaps i should post the people i really do not wish to lynch at this point in the game:

in no particular order:

Corylanna

Clov

Lenlo

Sili

Shad

Yates

If rack flips wolf, i'll be looking into all other players on my list. It also depends on who survives the night as town. Should Rack flip town, however, a lot of players, including me, need to re-asses.

i dont see my name there....

first off, I am here (barely) and can only apologise for my extremely sketchy presence. Work has been busier than expected. Project is going to technical review today so should be as normal next week and I'll be able to read through properly over the weekend and hopefully stop being useless :/

At the moment I'm currently at

Shad

Zander

Thane

Yates

Dice

Nomi?

Sili?

Cory?

Sooh?

Clov?

Tabor?

Hallia?

Pral?

Lenlo?

Rack?

Generally feeling pretty good about the group up to Dice. I feel good about Nomi and Sili but need to read through again. Cory, Sooh, Clov and Tabor are mixed, I've felt good about them for chunks of the thread and kind of shook my head at others. Thread consensus is affecting my opinions too much on the bottom group at the moment which I don't feel great about, but is what I have.

Hallia was higher due to her early response to Laine, but I don't get her vote on Pral or reasons for the turn around. From a technical perspective I don't think I've ever seen a game where Day 1 isn't the longest, sure the fluff: content ratio decreases but the volume of posting drops. From a game perspective I don't understand why she finds it scummy or why this is what she chooses to vote on, I know later she says its fir pressure but what pressure is there from this argument.

Pral is different so far, I don't know if its actually scummy yet. I don't like the fact that he had to be asked to explain the positioning in his list of people outside Cory/Zander but pretty sure Mafia!Pral would know that he'd catch flak for it, so its odd more than anything else. I don't remember Pral being so reticent with trades as either alignment.

I tried ISOig Lenlo and Rack but all it proved was how bad my thread recall is. I think at the moment they're only in my bottom group because of thread consensus and that bothers me. I'll try to get on at lunch to explain the rest of the 'reads'.

Right now I feel worst about Hallia, but given my lack of thread recall I can't put much stock in any of my thoughts at the moment.

This list looks ~okay, I guess.  If you move Cory up a bunch and replace my name with hers, it's actually incredibly close.  My major complaint with it is that it's just so cookie cutter, and we're 1,600 posts in...and she really didn't help get anybody where they are, if that makes sense.  I would guess that MOST players lists have most of the bottom eight around there in some fashion, but she obviously hasn't contributed anything to get the solve where its at.

Work...I fully believe that she's busy with that (bloody biostrat!).  She's not going to lie about it as town, and she's not going to sit there refusing to say anything as mafia and then chalk it up to work.  I will put 100% confidence in that statement.  The problem is similar to what Cory said to Pral - being busy at work doesn't preclude her from randing mafia.

@BFG - I'm trying very hard to not conclude you're mafia, just on the fact that I know you hate rolling it and you haven't been clear town this game.  Combined with the fact you were considerably more active in the VS game, I have some concerns.  I'm not going to lie about it.  So please, please elaborate on this so I can figure you out better.  Because even though your conclusions look pretty decent, it seems more like the perpetual catch-up from TUS than the wrecking lives from HP. I would love to hear your concerns about Cory and me, specifically, but just give me something to work with?

After realizing why I had positive reads on Clov and Shad I was trying to think of why I had a negative read on Cory and I think I've figured it out. It's the exact opposite of Clov and Shad. Now this may be another case of me misremembering and I'm on mobile so I can't really check but I don't think Cory has actually said anything game related to me throughout the entire push on me. I remember one time he quoted me about the legendary Jim Bob Cooter but nothing related to the game or his vote on me or anything. Now again, this is completely off the dome and I know my track record isn't great but if true that's not the type of behavior I'd expect from Cory and it explains why I don't feel great about him this game.

Clov what do you think of Rack? Gun to head

He's basically a 50/50 - not 100% convinced he's going to flip mafia, but I have nothing that makes me feel the opposite.  I wasn't blown away by his initial response to my argument about Zander, and the "Oh, I just misremembered!" defense... I don't know.

My issue is, for the first time in a long time, I really DON'T have anybody I feel needs to be strung up.  There are five or six people I'm not opposing a lynch on, and I really don't care about the order at this point.

Still catching up. Hammer hasn't happened yet, Thane, let me pose you a question merely because you're here.

Do you think Rack is the best candidate today, or merely the most convenient at the present vote count?

Who are your dream candidates for a reversal or "fire drill"?

On phone at job site and lol if you think you have any authority over me anyway

You lost me on this one. Could you maybe reword what you're thinking here?

It's not about authority. If you think you're too good of a player to have to defend yourself just say so.

I get why people might find that scummy or whatever but I just misremembered some facts. Think what you will but I'm town and it was just a mistake.

Sounds like a situation where no matter what you did there, you wouldn't have gotten out of it without attracting more suspicion.

Had you left your vote on Zander without comment, while he became consensus townie, it would look bad.

If you tried to push him even further, due to votes on you, it would look like panic.

If you unvote him, it also looks bad because of what cory said.

What's the solution? How do you win today?

Edit- Thinking past that decision, I mean. Zander is unvoted, now, what's the next move?

Agreed. I just wasn't going to continue pushing him once I realized I had gotten the facts wrong. As for now, I don't really have strong feelings on many people one way or another, whether it's because I just can't get a good read on them or because their posts just kind of blend in to me. Later I'm going to try to go back and reread on some of the people I'm slightly suspicious of and see if anything stands out to me. It's tough though because mafia on this forum seems to be entirely meta-based and a) I don't know anyone's meta here really and b) I never really relied on metas even before so I'm kinda at a disadvantage in terms of scum hunting.

Here. Link back to this.

I know if I'm scum this is completely bleeping meaningless.

In the universe where I am town, which happens to be the universe we're in, this post is meaningful to me to determine his alignment.

He's also low-hanging fruit if he's town.

If he's scum I think he does something here.

I don't believe in too late, and I don't believe in lynching townies simply because they're unhelpful.

Solving me is a lot easier than solving Rack here, at least I'm putting myself out there. Rack is harder to guess.

But if I am to guess, there's a lot of scum motivation missing from his response to my unvote of Dice.

Nomi....why are you making me feel a little less sure of Scum!Rack now???

"Unhelpful" so far, I mean. I'm not writing him off simply because his day one looks like a lot of low-poster low-content players' day ones look like. Maybe he'll be helpful down the road.

Do we want to lynch a scum today or not, and if so, is that person Rack?

If we want to lynch a scum, we want to lynch someone who has demonstrated motivation and more interest in the outcome, in my opinion. That's the harder option but maybe the correct one.

I suggest reverse and re-think.

So who if not him?
