Not changed much since my last post, mainly since I've been at work all night and haven't gone back to look at anything. I'm liking work that Shad is putting in, but I'm also hesitant to call Yates mafia due to his defense of Lenlo. Firstly because that's some serious defense if they're scummates and secondly: I've been town and defended the hell outta scum before. So, that's meh. Good posts on Tabor though..

 

Hally/Tab/RTE/Dice a healthy POE at this point, imo. With a tinfoil on Yates. And a partridge in a pear tree.

 

Fwiw, I will fight a lynch on Thane, if anyone is thinking of going that way. Other DO NOT LYNCH: Shad, Zander, Sili

So I get why I'm suddenly in the poe. I was wrong on a read. That read happened to be scum. Fine. I get it. So let's talk brass tacks since I still want to win this game and I can't do it if I allow myself to get mislynched. I'm actually working all day today but I will check in as I can - probably from phone which sucks - but I'm going to put in a reasonable effort to answer any questions you may have for me wrt my play or my motivations for things. I'm entirely certain that I can convince enough of you that my heart is pure because EVERYTHING I'VE DONE has been done as a Townie that is part of the uninformed majority.

 

Since this seems to be a recurring theme so far, let me address this first:

I had the "swing around" specifically because I knew I had to stop being lazy and put in more work. I knew on some level that I was confirmation biasing Cory. While on my way to pick up pizza for lunch I came to the conclusion that I didn't want to lose this game because I was stuck in a tunnel. So I did something I hate doing - I got on my PHONE and PHONE POSTED to unvote because I realized I was voting Corlana for the wrong reasons and I would be ticked if I allowed a scum sweep because I refused to at least consider why Clov might be a direct target if that were the case.

 

In going back and looking at Clov's ISO, I came to the conclusion that he was either directly targeted for being not just Town read - because Shad had more Town equity than Clov to be frank - but because he had a good poe [also slight chance because he was softing an investigative PR but it seemed like a fairly transparent attempt so I'm not sure there]. OR Clov was not the direct target. While Shad makes a decent point that Clov *may have* protected him in the event he was lying about being 1-shot - something I hadn't considered - I was thinking Clov would have been more likely to have been protecting Cory due to a strong Town read and I would imagine a desire to keep at least one of their voices in the game to help with the game solve. So knowing Clov, and trusting his reads more as a confirmed Town [because yes, I was obviously also considering a Cory/Clov scum team or at least one of them being wolf for the same reasons many of you have stated thinking *I* might be deep wolfing it] I had to begrudgingly admit that the evidence suggested I was wrong about my Cory read.

 

Why was I reading Cory as scum? Bad reads. Simple as that. This is why I understand why I'm in the poe.

 

With Lenlo? I saw him being pushed early for nonsensical reasons. FTR - I'm not the only one who noticed this. I have been in quite a few games where Lenlo was an easy mislynch. So from my pov? It looked opportunistic. I don't associate opportunistic pushes as being on SCUM. So yeah. I gave him an early Town read. I figured giving him more time to post would give himself a chance to clear himself if Town. It's really that easy. He never really took that step despite a bit of coaching on my part. So my read on him softened. When I realized my whole Town core was screaming Len had to be scum? And by all accounts it appeared that despite my best efforts Lenlo was unable to Town tell? Yeah. I had to conclude that I could be wrong about that read as well.

 

Now look at it from Lenlo's perspective. He thinks he has me pocketed. So he plays along with it. Once I'm pocketed, OF COURSE he is going to have me in his top Town reads. OF COURSE he is going to make a single post when he leaves a potential hedge in "but maybe I'm biased because he's defending me." This is just how you string along a pocketed Townie. I'm sure his team was laughing all along knowing that if/when Lenlo was lynched it would look TERRIBLE for me and that I would be an easy[er] mislynch to focus on.

 

Well, I'm not going down without a fight. I have faith that our Town core will be able to take a step back, reassess the information, and try to reread my ISO *without* the confirmation bias that I was allowing to blind my Cory read.

 

If this doesn't happen? And I get mislynched? At least I will leave the game knowing I did my level best to prevent it and no one will be able to accuse me of playing poorly or letting the Town down.
