It was almost a century since the bore that changed everything had been drilled. At first not much seemed different, after the initial shock and fear had passed people just got on with their lives. But rumours started too circukate, nasty rumours that indicated that something was very, very wrong.

Lews Therein strode into the Council meeting behind him bound in air stumbled a teenage boy, shaking with fear, a feral look in his eyes. The moment the gag was removed he started babbling about the wonders of the Dark One.

"This boy" Lews struggled momentarily to get the words out, "this boy has been corrupted by one of our own"

"Saine" he said thunder in his voce, rounding on the scholar "what have you to say for yourself?"

The woman stood "noticing me now are you Lews?" she mocked

"Choose, it is still possible to choose Light" he almost begged

"Is this true Saine?" another council member asked incredulously, "will you be severed or will you allow us to bind your powers"

"Neither" she yelled, "I am no longer Saine, that failed scholar, rejected by you. I will not choose you now. I am first amongst the Chosen and I will live forever"

"Saine" Lews yelled, "don't do this!"

She reached for the One Power, but had already been shielded, with a mocking laugh she yelled "Help me now, master" and wove a gateway. The pattern seemed to scream as she used a power invisible to the rest of them and dove through the Gateway

The Council was left in shock, looking at each other with confusion and fear. Had anyone else fallen already?

Zander SHC.

Plus I peeked him

I went to double check your work.  I got literally one post into the ISO before calling it quits.  There wasn't much ambiguity there

indeed. I stick with it too. Trains too easy, doesn't feel right.

i think we have to stay quiet now (no night chat?)

those trains look too easy imo... Normally people are all over the place D1, voting left and right and barely managing (if at all) a lynch on D1. These ones have been rolling for quite some time now, without that much opposition.

Maybe it was easy and not a lot of movement because both trains were on scum??

Eventually the peace faction lost out. It was painfully obvious that the Dark Forces had no interest in peace and rumours of the atrocities committed were becoming increasingly prevalent. Darkfriend recruiting parties worked openly in villages and towns near the border and slowly but surely the Dark One was gaining ground.

Fortunately shining beacons of light and hope sprang from the shadows. Lews Therin chief amongst them. He lead the armies of Light and gave hope to mankind. He wasn't the only one, other names were sung with equal fervour, Tel Janine Aellinsar chief amongst them. Before the war he was a sportsman excelling in archery and fencing, after the war started he proved that he was equally talented as a general and leader of men. If on occasion he felt a twinge of jealousy, what did it matter? He was clearly the better general than Lews Therein and better suited in every respect to lead the armies of Light. And so the jealousy gnawed away at his soul.

Then the armies of the Dark One gained ground and in the core of his being Tel Janine lost hope. All at once he defected to the other side, leaving the armies he'd commanded to be overrun by the Dark One's armies.

As far as I can tell, the game is pretty much locked at this point.  I would apologize for the EoD shenanigans, but Crusher was never not getting lynched - I was going to move back to him with a minute left if Laine rolled on Shad (or refused to take a stand between the two of them).  But it's hard for me to imagine that Mafia!Laine rolls on crusher like that.  She certainly wouldn't have known that AJ was going to switch at that exact moment.

AJ's vote looks pretty good.  Like Laine with this vote, timing pretty much makes it impossible for him to have seen her vote and moved in.  That means his vote was the tipping point for Crusher and saved Shad.  I'm not completely ignoring the possibility AJ could be deepwolfing me, but he was already looking very good to me yesterday before that.  Crusher's flip gets him about as close to locked as possible.

Crusher's red flip should put Nolder clear, per my reasoning yesterday.

Nyn is all but guaranteed town.

With Zander being SHC via Dice, we are in incredibly good shape.

I think Crusher-Kivam would be an unlikely, but not impossible, team.  That means POE is down to Hallia/Calder/Shad......../Kiv......../ZanderFPS.  Calder-Shad should never be teammates, so Hallia is pretty much guaranteed mafia at this point?

FYI.... I wanted to respond to something you said close to EoD... but dealing with my dog and such, I got distracted. What you said about Nolder... is true to some extent. My issue is with him making a point of saying he was the tie breaker a couple of times. It felt like he wanted it to be known and that bugs me. I would have felt better about it if someone else pointed it out... but on his actual vote post he said it... then repeated it a couple times later when talking to other people. So he's not getting a free pass on that merit alone. His content as whole is not that great imo. And frankly? I think Crusher shot himself in the leg and wasn't gonna make it far anyhow. And Nolder was starting to get looked at.

Also if I'm right about Shad... which I still think I am, breaking a tie between two teammates is moot. I agree that the chances of the two leading trains on day 1 being scum are low. But people seemed to be acting that the chances of Crusher flipping scum were low due to it being 'too easy' and his train being too static.... and we saw how that turned out.

So in a nutshell... if Nolder keeps producing iffy content, his vote is not gonna give me pause.

Terms are being used i dont know.....SHC?? FPS was always First Person Shooter but im guessing im wrong here.

SHC = Seer Hunt Clear.  Basically, Dice presented you as a peek - that's what it means when somebody comes into the thread and says "X is town."  Dice died.  Either he had cop equity - which means his town "peek" of you is correct....or you're mafia and you shot somebody you knew wasn't the cop.

Because an alive cop in these format of games destroys mafia's chances to win, the latter typically does not happen.

FPS stands for "Fancy Play Syndrome".  It's the term applied for making a complicated, high-risk high-reward play over the more expected, "correct" play.  As it relates to night kills, the correct play for mafia is to kill somebody that might be the cop.  An FPS kill would be killing somebody you know isn't the cop to make a member of the mafia look better.

In the case I used it, you would be mafia.  You knew Dice wasn't the cop, but you shot him anyways, to give yourself the illusion of being a correct peek.  You might come out ahead because players write you off, but you run the risk of the ACTUAL cop investigating you or your teammate the same night.

And for what it's worth Zander, I don't really think you're the kind of player who would shoot somebody who is absolutely NOT the cop in hoping of gaining...flipcred?.  There are a few players I wouldn't put it past, but most of them aren't in this game. :P
