Reads 

 [Cory] and Sili look pret​​ty town to me now. A few people suspect Wishleste, I understand that's because of how Celeste's been behaving, but the only thing I'd note is her jumping to my defense unnecessarily, but she's been busy lately and I'm willing to accept that's something she'd do as town. Pral hasn't quite addressed the idea of his not being around later enough to my understanding for me to not think he's scummy, or at least a weak link. I should clarify that it's not that he might not be around that's behind my vote, if anything, I'd hope he'd sub out. It's that it took him time to say anything to being accused of being potentially AWOL. I want to take another look at others. How do I ISO here? People keep mentioning it, but I can't see how, or even a search function for the thread.

 

 

Continuing: Verbal is neutral to me right now, he's said he needs time to warm up and really start playing, and I've already seen a couple of good points, but I'm curious to see the real effort he promises. And out of the others, offhand, I have a good feeling about Tina, John, and Sooh, having seen good points from them, but now that I understand ISO'ing here, I can look at people in focus and get a better view. Once I get through that, I'll make a nice decorated list ^^

Here's where I'm at as of 9-ish hours before deadline...

 

Dice: Despite Cory's note about him being aware of his meta and most likely trying to change it, until he has successfully pulled it off well enough to fool me I am going to trust that I can still read him, and I think he's town.

CorKey: Being pretty much universally town read, for good reason.  There are a couple of things that have stuck in my head as potential concerns, but I want to see where things go after D1/N1 before I get into potential tinfoily things.

Tab: Has put forth very good effort D1 and I'm impressed. :)

Lenlo: Has also put forth very good effort and I like what I see.

Sili: I might be getting a better handle on how to read him, although I wouldn't count on it.  Feeling positive about his contributions.

 

Tina: When she's been available to post I've liked what she's had to say.

Sooh: Slight town read, has seemed like she's making an effort to figure things out.

 

Mish: Null to slight town read, mostly based on tone.

Snow: I have a hard time resolving Snow's alignment until I know more, or sometimes when he's under pressure. He's getting town read by most others so he's not really a concern for me at the moment.  Null to slight town for now.

 

Wishleste: Really not sure what to make of them yet. The lack of agreement between them doesn't help.  Straight null.

 

Ocicat: Has been bouncing around a bit, seeming to follow others' lead with low effort - looking forward to seeing what he comes up with when he finishes ISOing.

Talya: Tried to read her ISO... there were a few posts that struck me as odd, but trying to put into words why I can't quite make sense of my own thoughts, so I'll leave her on the bottom side of null for now.

There's some weird interplay in my head with these 4, and I don't know if I can explain it all to my own satisfaction right now - just little bits with interactions and reads that makes me concerned.  I do not believe all 4 of them are even remotely mafia together - I'm thinking possibly 2 mafia in this group, although which ones I am bouncing around on.  

 

I'm not 100% sold on Pral being mafia, to be honest, and some of those that have voted him don't appear to understand how he plays.  I think I'd rather vote Verbal, but I could be flat out wrong, and I don't want to be an obstacle.  

 

For now I will [v]Verb[/v], and set my alarm an hour before deadline. If needed to achieve a lynch I am willing to switch to Pral, but it's not my first choice.

I'm also not opposed to a Verb- lynch. So far I have been underwhelmed by his solving or attempts thereof.

I've finished Leelou's ISO. I find her content to be severely lacking, but it's not inherently scummy. It's been a while since I've played with Leelou, but I feel like there should definitely be more content from a Town Leelou. 

 

I'd like to look more into it D2.

For a couple reasons.

 

Mostly i dislike the ppl on verbs wagon and i do not think verbal is going down today

A) Yes, PoE is a big deal.

 

B) I know he is not content but his villager content feels different, afaict. He's invested an interested even when he pokes his head in. Here the only time he had a reaction to anything was to me accusing him of missing NAs before (which, afaik, could be legitimately untrue and he could get tickled by it in any role). I talked about this a bunch in my lecture post; specifically I remembered Wind in the Door, which you modded, where he had lapses of absences but made an early Tina = v read and was willing to defend it for the time he was there rather than just mailing in a reads list and leaving.

 

C) I know dice will give me his "volume doesn't matter!" shtick, but I have played 300+ long games and Mafia and REGARDLESS of what you personally believe, there is a discernible and provable trend that the average rate of posting is higher for a villager than a wolf. Consider it the home/away splits of Mafia, it's hard to understand and comprehend, but the statistics say it's real. That's as close to a "universal" Mafia role, and I just prefer lynching ~scummy inactive players to ~scummy active players for the most part because I have more confidence.

 

D) His content coming back in bothered me as well. Specifically his "Oh, Leelou and Cory are voting me. That's nothing new  " bit that seemed to be putting the onus on me and Leelou for "going at inactives" rather than actually caring about why he was being voted.

 

E) I really don't know to explain the massive resistance to his lynch, tbh. AFAICT nobody seems to actually think he's a villager*, but we can't lynch him because "no info" or whatever. Which is fine, I'm willing to compromise.

 

* Besides Verbal, and I don't know what world he is in right now

A) Wrong way to go about it

 

B) The way I got reads in this game is the exact way I get reads in any game I play. How I saw the connections between Mish and Talya. The slow buildup of votes on me etc. I don't see how it is any different from the Tina read I made in that game you are mentioning

 

C) That is a bad generalization. I don't want to bring up meta but I am usually more active when I am scum than town. It is the exact opposite of what you are saying - which is why a general rule cannot be applied everywhere

 

D) As said before, these are examples very similar to how I got the Tina read in the Wind in the Door game. Pure meta based. I observe how people react to various situations and what I said is a common trait in many game I have played with you or Leelou

 

E) Maybe because it is actually easier to catch me as scum as the game progresses? That is how it has always worked.

 

The point is I don't think you have ever read me properly D1. I have been mislynched or misrepped many times when we both were v/v and I think it is the same case here again. "I think" because I believe you are town here. And, that is what will bother you again today after I get lynched today.

And to summarize what I was trying to post, Sooh, yes, that was a polished and crafted post, it was a defense against a valid point, not a free-flowing thought. Eldrick, I don't know any more than anyone else. Everyone knows their alignment. My point was that I couldn't defend my careless slip, but going after me would be an error.

I have noticed this happening a bit. I have a crazy theory   Snow Occicat Wish/Celeste mafia team with a plan of ignoring people who vote them/question them whenever they think they can get away with it. Dont think Snow EVER commented on my vote on him   he just dissappeared   Cat hasnt commented on my vote either

It isn't so much about "being here for EOD", we need to start making wagons that could actually reach majority now because we know people aren't guaranteed to show up tomorrow

I don't see what others are apparently seeing in Pral. Now that he's contributing, I'm liking what he has to say. Not voting him. Slight town.

 

I actually expected to see more from verb by now. Not opposed to his lynch, but I still feel stronger about Ocicat. I'll check back before the deadline after you morning people wake up.

You aren't going to get more content from me until there are a lot less people in game or til after the 15th. Whichever comes first. Don't expect reads list with reasons. If you decide that makes me scummy, then so be it.
