Yes, I'm waiting for RTE to answer questions there.

 

The vote is ~probably good because it was early and game related. Mafia!RTE jokes about as long as possible (obvious caveat that we had a similar conversation in HP, so he's aware of that now). Ley said that RTE did it in their past few games, and pushed it most when mafia. I assumed that made it a neutral alignment thing, since I wouldn't say RTE pushed it hard this game and backed off pretty quickly.

I'm waiting to hear some answers as well.

 

Bold is worth noting. I understand the caveat too if it was a recent talk. Can't say I've ever really been good at reading RTE.

 

Not sure I'd characterize the vote as "game related" in this context because idk how he came to that conclusion that Ley was being too logical and careful based on his 3-4 posts at that point.

I dont know if I'm 'good' at reading RTE, I read him correctly in HP and other than that in recent games I've been mafia against him. I remember being surprised in pokemon that so many people were pushing him as he seemed really obvious town to me, but conf bias

 

I haven't really noticed the humour that I expect from Town!RTE But he's been under pressure early so dont knowhow much importance I can put on it.

 

I'm also really not liking his disappearance act after saying he was going to fight for it. Again he was pretty accepting of his lynch in HP, but had offered reads and suspects and was voting one.

 

tldr:

He hasn't posted enough for me to be confident in a read on him yet, I don't find the initial post bad, but his disappearing since isnt great.

@BFG by normal I mean simply that. If someone seems like themselves, in my opinion it makes them less suspicious. Someone who is Mafia is a lot more likely to play differently to try and hide the fact that they're scum. It isn't foolproof, but at that point there wasn't much else to go on.

I need to reread Yates/AJ in detail. I find myself nodding along with both when they're talking, so am wondering if it's t/t? Prior to this argument i had them both in a 'good feels' group, but the argument has lasted so long I'm not sure what to think any more.

This is the exchange that drew me to think Hallia was doing some cheerleading - posting positive fluff that looks town but has no content. I think the same can be said for most of her posts thus far. You can ISO her if you like those are my impressions,

 

Still really isn't much to post about. I like Spam as much as any BTer but Day 1 and spam equals nothing to go on.

 

If we don't get any real before too long content then I'll start operating under the assumption that someone is purposely trying to derail the game.

 

 

That's not really my style of play. I try not to lead a crusade against someone unless I have something to go on. Once there is more content and I can catch hints of things here and there I will compile and post.

I'm willing to let some spam slip because it's day one, and I know that for at least some of the people doing it it's their normal posting style. I don't think were in too much danger of a deadline so for now I'll wait and watch and see what happens.

This is Andrej singling me out at this point (for what reason I don't know, as it's not like there weren't other people who were inactive). But I did recognize that I hadn't been very active at this point so fair enough

Following Andrej's post Ley declared him town. This looked suspicious to me. I do think Ley has played with Andrej enough to read him well, but not this well. No way I can see how he got to this conclusion (although same can be said for my following post I suppose). Would be interested to hear more on this. Leelou picked up on it and then let it go.

 

Even for a BT game surprisingly little content thus far but we all need to start somewhere.

 

Two people who stand out most to me so far are Ley and Hallia.

Hallia is trying too hard to look townie and has been doing some buddying and cheerleading so far. Too safe, too "pro-town".

 

Ley is playing way too safe for his usual style. Too reserved, conservative, and logical. He's not being as bold or on edge as usual. Seems fake.

 

Of the two, I'm going to Unvote. Vote Ley.

 

Here is my post. I felt pressured to post part because AJ called me out for not having posted much of anything and part because up to that point so very little useful content had been posted. I have played a lot with Hallia and Ley. But, as we all know, not much had come from the game at this point. Therefore these reads, yes, were based on little, and were more my meta feelings about them. Of the two I do think I felt worse about Hallia. That being said Hallia does post a lot of positive fluff at the start of every game and perhaps I should acknowledge that, but her calling Leelou town there made me pause. Given the trouble I always have with Hallia, figured this was something to go by with the game being so young.

 

The Ley vote was more of a prod than anything else. I found Ley was posting quite soundly up to that point and wanted to see what would happen if I voted him and how he would react. Wanted to see if I got reactive Ley or not and what he would post in return. I think reactive Ley is town!Ley and a guarded Ley keeps me suspicious.

 

Okay. I'll do my best to change that feeling for you. I do believe though, that you have pushed me several times the last few games, while I ended up town every single time. So, maybe, time to reevaluate.

 

This post, and his other two, really came across as quite genuine and town to me. Not to mention he pointed out how poorly I have read him lately so felt that he made good points in response to my vote and I was satisfied.

Dice - checks in, says he’s in 3 games and only a total of 3 posts so far. Not really expecting much for awhile here.

Yates - questioned both Talmanes and Rhea on their experience and thoughts of Yates being a bully. SPAM, SEPH, SPAM, SPAM, SPAM, SEPH. Not really digging the push on Seph yet. 

 

Ley - hint of being twitchy over one vote, but nothing has stuck out for me. I don’t really remember much of Ley’s play style so unless I see something in either direction on my own, I’ll defer to other town reads in regards to Ley

 

RTE - SPAM, doesn’t like Hallia and Ley, votes Ley. I’m not seeing much out of the ordinary for Hallia. I don’t really remember much of Ley’s style to judge if it’s a misrep. 

 

 

I think this is completely inaccurate. Of all the players, I don't think you can say I spammed the thread in any way? I agree that Hallia doesn't seem out of the ordinary, but if you questioned Ley for saying Andrej is town why don't you hold Hallia to the same standard when she called you town?

On an aside, Ley remarked a couple of games back that I post less than I used to in games. And I do. That's because my posts don't often come across as I want them to and I tend to wait till others have weighed in so I have more to go on before posting my reads. I genuinely wanted to move the game into more content-related posts and thought I'd start by prodding Ley with my vote, and kept my never ending suspicion of Hallia, prompted most specifically by her calling Lee town where there was no reasoning there.

 

Honestly I am a lazy Mafia player. I usually don't make the time to ISO, and I do my best when considering the conclusions others have drawn and following my gut and intuition (or just pure luck a lot of the time). So I usually try to follow players I believe are sound and make good cases (BFG comes most prominently to mind) whereas I have trouble with people like Leelou and Yates because I know enough to be wary of them but not enough to read them. That being said I obviously therefore can be mislead by a convincing and vocal mafia player who happens to ISO and play a really strong mafia game. But my reads for whatever reason seem to be decent across most games.

 

Speaking of reads, need to get to my office now but will come back with my reads list.

I'd like to point out I was almost mislynched day 1, but we got a mafia dice instead and I think I played a helpful role in the rest of the game. I struggle content wise early game for the aforementioned reasons (I'm lazy and like to see the cases others make).

To answer your question, I'll wait for Hallia to respond about the above, but I highly doubt it was that post that caught her eye. I'm fairly certain I know what it was and she does tend to call me out as townish early, so it's not really out of the ordinary with her. Ley made a definitive statement that "AJ is town". Quite different.

Up until your "read" post, it was joking/spamming. Then your read seemed to come out of no where with not much content in the thread. They were misreps of what was going on.

I agree with you that Yates/AJ is most likely town/town.

You, Dice and Leelou are my strongest town reads, I keep changing my mind about Talmanes, I think RTE is probably town but that's more of a gut, and I'm most suspicious of Rhea (because of what others pointed out) and Zander (because he still has his vote on me and I have no idea why).

Already answered this one. I made a much stronger statement than my feeling to get some activity going. The feeling came from AJ being the first one to really try to get something going, which isn't in the interest of mafia (though easy to fake). You are right that I cannot read him that well.

The whole thing about the spiderman memes and derailing the thread was in my opinion a very stupid and useless discussion. Seriously. So bad that I am pretty certain one of them is mafia. If not they should all be embarrassed for letting such a dumb and trivial discussion last so long. One of them should be scum. I totally agree with Ley's recent post telling them to drop it and move on. Most unhelpful thing by far during Day 1 (the memes were much better than the stupid never-ending argument that emerged afterwards). 

 

I'm still not satisfied Hallia is town and am going scum lean on her. Yates or Andrej pointed out in one of their recent multi-posts that some the statements she is making don't add up and in addition to what I felt previously about her saying Leelou was town so early on have me irked. I need more time to get a better picture of her but right now she is in my bottom two.

 

Lastly is Talmanes. Talmanes not voting for his number one scum pick QUITE early day 1 really stands out to me, as how he changed following people asking him questions on it. It was far too early to be worried about consolidating, no matter what type of hammer. His reasoning and attempt to recover strike me as scummy and he is where my vote is going. [v] Talmanes [/v]
