I still don't like Seph this game, but I've never played with him so I don't know anything abut how he normally plays.

AJ did some things that pinged last night, but I'm still null there and I'd feel terrible mislynching him.

Such as what?

He is ignoring it.

Womby you knows me better than that. in my 3 or 4 years of playing I think I have only ever made 1 slip. that aint something I do

He's saying we gotta go hard in the paint.

I'm also saying that it looked like a scum slip to me. But I don't know how Darthe thinks and I'm not sure I want to.

Darthe has some scum equity imo. I doubt him and Seph are ever w/w in this situation but I could potentially see him being partners with those at the bottom of his list a few pages back.

Seph looks pretty terrible after that EOD.

"I think this is a mislynch but I'll keep my vote here anyhow"

Lame.

Yes let me unvote to lynch myself aj.

You could've tried to push elsewhere.

I did. But with 4 minutes there wasn't a lot of time.

I have to side a little more with Seph over AJ here.  A townie is not going to move his vote in that situation unless it's to a train that will be larger than his.  To do otherwise would be suicidal.  That being said, I do think Seph overplayed the "this is obviously a mislynch" angle a bit.  IIRC, he sounded people out about a CFD at some point, but I don't remember him much beyond that and his ubiquitous suspicion of Darthe, so that's a bad sign.

Yeah, self pres is pretty much neutral though.

Obviously no one is gonna let themselves be the lynch voluntarily in that situation but it doesn't make him a villager either. Him decrying the wagon that he was on and then trying to point at me for pressuring Dae isn't a good look though.

Posted

I explained as much to Darthe.

The fact you're out in the open. And you're butting heads with what I might say are bigger fish. I don't think you go after Darthe as a wolf knowing he's a villager. Unfortunately you still suffer from foot in mouth syndrome

This post kinda struck me as possible TMI.  Yes it's very unlikely that Darthe and Seph are w/w, but AJ seems to be taking it for granted here.

Yeah, but you essentially said that something that I saw as self preservation was scummy, not neutral.

Right now I feel very confident with town reading Wombat. He seems to be making solid progress.

Dice/AJ feels a little off in their interaction. I'm not sure if that's a w/v or a w/w thing, but I doubt it's v/v.

Seph seemed very defensive early on, and he had that series of posts around EOD that almost sounded like TMI. Saying that wolves would be doing more to get people off a train kinda implies that wolves don't bus. Idk... maybe it's less normal to bus a team mate D1.

You mention Dice/AJ right after saying I'm town but on a different line.  Are you sheeping me here or not?  I legit can't tell.

If I did then I'm not aware of it. They were just things that stood out to me. You've been clear town to me since the beginning of the game almost, and I've seen nothing to counter that yet.

Ok.  I mentioned some stuff about Dice and AJ early.  Even pulled some quotes for Darthe.  Post 185 if you're interested.

GOAT reads imo

Probably.

Maybe.

that made for quite an interestng read.... after all that, there are two options imo:

town:

Thane

Wombat

AJ

Dice

NotBob

Darthe

John Snow

possible wolves:

Seph (m. Yates)

Sooh

Daetirion

Hallia

Sili

the reads list up there ^ would go with what most people would read in this game currently... but i wouldn't be me if i wouldn't have another idea:

town:

Seph (m. Yates)

Sooh

Darthe

Hallia

Sili

Dice

possible wolves:

AJ

Daetirion

NotBob

Wombat

am i nuts? maybe.... but i have some doubts about identical reads this early in the game. The anti-town parties, especially when played by experienced players,  could easily take town lead and 'play for victory' this early, with little scepticism being put in their way.

it's all too nice and easy imo....

[v]John Snow[/v]   i have had no town feel for him whatsoever, and i wonder why people have him in their townreads....

i have read it, but i'm not convinced. There's something bugging me about him. Maybe i'm wrong (gods, i wish i could point out a wolf pack D1), but i'm sticking with my vote.

is anybody else in?

and, it's true about the spread. It's going to be hard to draw any kind of conclusion from the lynch...

i'm all for competing trains, which i don't think will happen now. I can draw my own conclusions when i look at who players vote, and who they avoid.

with you, dice and wombat around, we could still get someone else lynched

yeah, i just can't understand why people read JS as town..... i'm suspecting DAE is not town, but he's lower on my wtl-list than JS atm

I see a ton of cognitive dissonance here.  Looks to me like someone going through the motions.

1.  Acknowledges that people are town reading Snow.  Then he votes him.

2.  Confirms the vote.

3.  Says that it's going to be hard to draw conclusions from the spread but doesn't move his vote, instead making what he should have known was a futile attempt to get someone to CFD a consensus town read.

4.  Says he's all for competing trains but doesn't move his vote.

5.  Says we could get someone else lynched.  Doesn't move his vote.

6.  Reiterates his read on Snow and then nudges Dae.

How is what Thane says here at all consistent with what he does?

Posted

My impression is that people have JS as town because of his early WiM.  Kind of a dumb reason to town read someone imo, but that's DM mafia these days.

Thane's attitude towards Dae could just as easily be nudging as a reluctance to bus.  It could also just be Thane.

Couple of my posts at the time.

Posted

I mean if I had to TL; DR that sequence of posts from Thane it would be something like:

I'm all for competing trains or a CFD, but I'm just gonna keep my vote alone on this guy who isn't getting lynched while nudging the guy who is.

Posted

Do we even know why Thane was scum reading Snow?  I can see being wary of Snow, as I was, but to actively scum read him?

Blót: Thane

Darthe seems to be coming more into himself and shows a lot of WIM in my opinion. It makes me feel slightly more relaxed about him for now at least.

Thane has been a bit "going against the grain" throughout the game. I don't actively dislike it, I just wish there was something more besides just disagreeing with what seems to be thread consensus. Might be a townish move though.

NB is completely incomprehensible to me. I am trying to look for anything in his posts that will actually help town solve this game, but there's pretty much just a series of FOSes there. Leaning towards mafia with him, but I would appreciate some help as to how to interpret his posts.

Sili doesn't have much content to read him on. There are those short one syllable posts that makes him look suspicious to me, so I can see why people are voting there.

So, whoever is here right now: How do I read NB? I've been trying for a few games and I still have no clue.

At this point in time I would vote in the Seph/Sili/NB pool I think.

Read him through his actions.  Right now he is currently hunting scum and actively trying to put puzzle pieces together.  You could help but instead you try to act all confused and stuff...wanting other people to put the pieces together...never really owning your own thoughts...so yeah.

ould

Vote Sooh

I try to, but your actions confuse me. They seem like an endless range of pokes and prods and I don't really see how you're reaching conclusions from it, especially since you move on so quickly. It's an attempt to read you better, not to not own my reads.

I poke and prod to see how the town wants to proceed...when I get no traction it could mean I've found scum...take you for instance...i voted you and no one joined me...from this one could infer you're scum...cause your mates do not want to join me.

or maybe i'm just bat poop crazy...lol
