AHH Febuary!! Love is in the air, beads flying at flashers, random acts of kindness, even the National be nice to a Grumpy Person day!!! *grins*

 

We have several tradition February projects:

 

Valentine Card Exchange

 

If you would like to join in on sending messages of love and hearts to each other..this is the place!!! Please PM me by this Thursday, the 8th and I will get you the list and addresses by Saturday so you can send your love in time for Valentine's Day!!!

 

Cupid Exchange

 

This was a blast!! *hugs bear Jade sent last year and grins* We are on a short time frame here...so if you want to participate.....you can sign up for this one until Friday the 10th!! Just PM me and I will get your Cupid Kinster name to you on Saturday!! I know that this is short notice..the aim is for Valentine's Day ..but if it is a little late...I think everyone will be ok with that!!! Just makes the month of love last a bit longer!!

 

Random Acts of Kindness

 

The 17th of this month is the official day to perform Random Acts of Kindness...you know..dropping a coin in someone's parking meter so it doesn't expire, opening a door...telling someone a kind word...anyone posting one of this acts anywhere on the boards this month will get points!! Just let me know....

 

I have another thought with this....and I am throwing it out to all of you to decide. I would love to have secret Kin Pals! This would be your person throughout the year to send a card, maybe a bookmark...make a point of posting to...and be your Secret Santa as well. It would be anonymous..and for return addresses...you could use mine for everyone!!! This isn't meant to be a burden of expense or add to a list of things to do...but a way of reaching out to each other...If there are enough of us interested..we can start on the 17th!!! Please PM me if you would like to do this!!!

 

One last thing....

 

February is National Library Month and National Dental Health Month!!! Let us know if you go to the Library or to the dentist....*grins* it means points!!!

Dia dhuit, Tay. Why do you need a book on Scottish recipes? Isn't everything you make Scottish, just cause you made it? :D

 

Oh, and could you send some of them to me, for my re-enactment group? The Chief's birthday is in May, and I would love to do something really Scots for him. Just no haggis, please. :roll:

Some recipes that can be made ahead of time and taken along to a party would be great. My crazy, pretend-Scots/Irish friends would love it.

I don't know if this totally counts as random but here goes. I'm a den leader for my youngest son's Cub Scout den. We had our PineWood Derby yesterday. After I got there to help set up, I realized we didn't have enough side items for our Blue and Gold Banquet (to be held after the Derby) so I went to the grocery store under the guise of getting drinks and cups and brought back fruit, potato salad, and cheese. About $55 later . . . :o Still, we needed something more than just ham and cookies and brownies and the few small side items one other person brought. :lol: The kids would have liked that (just having cookies and brownies) but the adults maybe not so much. :P

We managed to track a woman down who'd accidentally opened her trunk when she dropped her keyless entry thing into her purse and let her know it was open. From her reaction, I suspect she gets that a lot...

*grins* I came out of recovery to find a big happy yellow smiley mug of flowers and balloons...thanks Lor...you have no idea how wonderful that was!!!

 

ok so I am a little behind but will get all your points posted...AND..you have until the 28th to still sign up to be a secret kin pal.... So far I think we have..me, lor, ursula, kell, tay...Jade are you in? Dar?

 

Remember folks...this is to be fun..not a burden of cost or whatever..there are ecards that are free online..many of us are crafty so...little made things...a prayer...*smiles*

 

I have been the one blessed by random acts of kindness this month...very blessed...by all of you sending me good energy and prayers...Kell offering to play scrabble online so i don't overdue while recovering..*giggles* believe me when he gets a load of my spelling!!! Tay does a million and three things daily with out thought..that brighten up people's days....Lor and always being there to listen and encourage and giving smiles...*grins*
