I know it's your first time and I don't know how much your mentor is around, but you should be less concerned with how others perceive you and more concerned with how you percieve others. Don't be afraid to contribute, even though you're unfamiliar with the players and forum mafia. Dive right and we'll all have a much nicer time :)

You've got me in that I've never played forum mafia, but I can't agree with you about other's perception. It's pretty much everything.  I may not have shared my perceptions on others yet, but trust me, I've got them.  With no impending lynch or deadline, I see no reason to divulge what I'm thinking yet.  

 

 

Right now it is way more important for you to share your own thoughts about people, so that the town can clear you as town. Town need to work together; be as open and clear as possible to let other townies read them correctly, the more solid town can trust each other the easier it is to find the mafia. So there's a very big reason for why you should divulge what you're thinking IMO. That's how others are able to read you.

 

Everyone is going to try to come across as town… isn't this is a given?  If getting cleared as town was as easy as posting your thoughts, everyone would get cleared all quick like since they're all trying to come across as town.  Not following the logic here...

 

I have my suspicions and will share them when needed, but right now they're not needed.  It's early.

 

 

Nonono. Mafia will try to come across as town. Town will be town. And as town, you're vocal, clear, open, honest, because you have a twofold goal; let other townies know you are town, and try to find mafia. Town needs to work together to find mafia. It's always easiest to trust those who come across as transparent in their thinking. What you're doing now, is mafia behaviour. You're being evasive, you're talking about semantics, instead of putting your thought process out there. You're being very anti town right now.

 

Getting cleared as town by posting thoughts. This si because, when you post your thoughts, others can see if they seem legitimate or not. Let's give an example. If I don't give a single read now, I can join in on whatever train takes off, saying "yeah this person was in my headlight for a while". Gives me a free pass to vote whoever I wish whenever. But, if I constantly post my reads and thoughts, I'm locked in. That means I cannot suddenly turn around and vote Tina if I've been saying all of D1 that I think she's town. Mafia wants to keep their options to vote every townie. Thus their reads are usually vague and they thow dirt all over the place. A townie wants to clear as many as possible and let others know their thought process so they can find mafia. Get the difference yet?

 

Remember, it's only the first Day you have a newbie pass. If you don't step up soon, you'll be a very tempting D2 lynch with this attitude. Because it just aint townie.

 

 

 

 

 

now for personal commentary..... since i have not played with most of you my take on things is slightly different then the general consensus in the game so far. 

 

CoryMish (mostly cory) has spent time in claiming/declaring almost 1/3 of the players as villagers (tina, monstr, dice, pral, and a repetition of these claims again and again). and has only gone after Tommy as mafia. This may come from the fact that he has played with these players extensively and knows how they play to make what i consider strong claims especially when he is talking about his town reads.

Cory's specialty is identifying townies. He is very good at it.

I don't really find it THAT reliable, but there are some players this was a good thing to think about with (Jack_D was a great example)

I have played in too many games were town lost because of third party players or claimed third party players. 

 

Just got to this Tina, sorry didn't see the first time:

Up to eight I have a bunch of pluses for monstr 

 

while his WIMMY opening is something he CAN do as mafia he's more likely to do it as a villager. i think he accumulated a good deal of wolf fatigue in the Champs game and I know he really wanted to be a villager in this game and in all honesty a lot of DMers considering "the big villagery open" to actually be relatively conspicuous and one asset that's big in monstr's scum game is that he's inconspicuous if that makes sense. he knows what will or will not get him intro trouble.

 

he continues to go strong, has at least one read i think he's more likely to make as a villager (sili town, which i think could be incorrect but i think monstr interpreting sili's lack of an early filter as villagery is pretty monstrish of him) and i appreciate the way he talks to me and to tom. it would be hard for him to take the line he took with tom irt to me getting aggressive around page ~7 - “it may be tiresome to you tom” - as a wolf. tom points out correctly that monstr doesn't usually get involved in spats between people he likes as a wolf, he usually just reads them villager and giggles

 

there are some things he does early that i log in the back of my mind as mildly mafian and he hasn't touched any of them. his posting just seems pure, filterless and we think similarly. i usually say "i can read monstr perfect by day 2 EOD" but i'm actually pretty close to just bluereading him outright today. i'm extremely confident he's a villager.

You're right, it's a player quirk - I'm always this way in mafia games.  

 

I know it keeps me suspicious but I'm consistent with it.  I wasn't lying when I said I get false lynched a lot.

I read through his three games on the forum and came to a conclusion myself.

 

I am pretty curious. I think Tommy/monstr/Tina all had him in their villager lists.

So, quick QUESTION SESSION: Why do you have Err as a villager? What do you think he's done that Mafia wouldn't do?

I don´t the emo posts. I don´t know what to do with them. Is it:

 

1. Genuine feelings? If so, I don´t get what started it.

2. Some kind of game play/checking people´s reactions/setting traps etc? If so, I don´t find it to be an enjoyable gamestyle.

3. Trolling? If so, just stop.

 

I could absolutely follow Dice and Csarmi on Tommy. I´m still on Sili because he seams to play a bit cautious. I think that a Tommy lynch would give me some info about other players. 

 

I´m not sure about Manbat. Some of his posts look townie but I didn´t like that he stopped talking to me but turned to Cory to ask about me instead and then just agreed with him. I´m not sure about his oppinions about Tommy either. He seems to be on the fence about him. But as you can see, I´m on the fence about Manbat. 

You have a nice level of paranoia. I can understand it but you have some wacky reads.

Tommy's play has been almost opposite to that of corry. He has spent most time throwing mud at others for being mafia (monstr, sili, salami, pral, corymish, pral) then giving town reads on anyone. then there is a fact of multiple claim roles (mafia/roleblocker then survior). He has been all over the place..... and all that in day one... pretty exiting for me :) i thought he was towny first trying to push people into speaking more and get more information. then i thought he was mafia after the role claim. and now back to town after the 2nd claim. i think this night things could be decided between him and the sleeper guy.

 

hang on. So tommy claims once and that makes him mafia to you but then he claims again    and a non town role again   and now suddenly you think he's town??? WTF??

 

 

Top tier observation: Err shouldn't be on a team with someone who knows Monstr's meta well

well i also found manbat a little scummy along with dice... but a little lower on the list

 

 

Right  im getting linked into monstr things because of earlier comments. So im addressing this now.

 

im sus on manbat for these reasons  and there is definitely tinfoiling involved

 

a) so far I have never seen him roll mafia and the odds are starting to wig me out.

 

b) he keeps getting cleared by people quick and early. yes those clears have been right but im not seeing HOW he gets cleared. It seems to be entirely meta from another site. thus i dont see it. For me monstr doesn't say much. they tend to be one liner type things that dont give me enuff to work him out. the post he made on  i think  the previous page  is one of the biggest posts i can remember seeing from him and its not exactly a WoT.

 

 

So basically it boils down to me being wary of manbat because I have no way of clearing him. If those who are his quick clearers are mafia with him and i just blindly take their word for it, then im gonna get steamrolled. So he is on my to watch list. im not saying he's scummy just that im watching him.

i already put out my reasons on tommy  him claiming survivor has changed nothing. I was taught by a certain someone not to auto lynch survivor claims however trust is a part of that. Survivor wins with town or mafia and i don't trust tommy to not side with mafia and b I dont believe his claim

 

 

cory  you are pretty much clear for me, just not gonna lock you in D1. I am seeing your usually town behaviour here, tho perhaps a shade quieter then at other times but mish is broadcasting town very clearly too.
