I've been working on the ISO from before you started posting... I just realized you were ISOing him too. I just tend to write my thoughts and do it in one post... so it takes time.

I usually do that, too. And tell a story along the way. Since Tommy and Csarmi were here, I figured I'd do it QT style.

To be fair, I did say I was gonna do it :P    Then I got miffed when I saw it was 5 pages.

See?!!! And I bet you thought it was going to be 1 1/2 or 2, right?

So are we lunching Thane? That the plan?

If it isn't, I've been pushing this wagon uphill for no reason.

Kinda, yeah

For posterity:

Okay.  Without getting into a huge case or anything, how many Thane posts can you think of off the top of your head?

Now.  With that number in mind, what if I told you that Than has FIVE PAGES of ISO?

I thought I could ISO Thane lickety split and give you some examples of posts that bothered me thinking he'd only have a page or two.  I was like "this guy has FIVE pages of posts??"

this is frustrated Thane seeing he's being set up to be lynched while he has RL things to do for the moment. I'll be back tomorrow

Looking forward to seeing what he has to say TODAY.

Haven't caught up on thread yet, but I think we should lynch Thane or a slanker.  Thane has almost no downside and gives good train analysis opportunities.  Slanker cuz I think we are dealing with some wilves here.

100% chance there's a wolf in the slankers. How do you determine, though? Because - slankers.

and to be frank, even if they don't, clov is still sketchy. what if there is no doc?

how badly he played this is mind boggling.

i honestly hope he's scum.

I think it's extremely likely we have a doc.

Strongmans aren't super common here. Docs are essentially a ~lock to be in any set up though, but not 100% a guarantee. Like I said, it's too early to tell so we're best just to roll with the claim and move elsewhere if there isn't a CC.

I'm not going to get too much into flavor since character hinting isn't allowed and I don't want anyone to get modkilled, but doc is probably the one role I would expect to find in this game for flavor reasons alone.  Wiki/google the main characters.

unvote

not gonna lynch a claimed doc without CC....

Hallia softclaimed VT? there goes my other theory.

So, yeah, basically, i'm lost in this game.

sidenote: you people post too much, i feel like i have to catch up to half the game every morning.

I'd say she hardclaimed VT.  How does that shoot down your other theory?

Re-reading earlier posts and what I previously saw as hedging from Wombat reads much more reasonable in hindsight, especially his handling of Clov. You can see the "well I don't fully get it but other people feel strongly about it" inner struggle way back on page ~40. He's moving up to blue status.

I'm the best.

Thinking it's probably not Pral.  He would've caught up on QT and not offered those weird reads.  Besides that =S

These quotes are all from Nyn's ISO on Thane; just copied and pasted stuff instead of trying to edit the formatting.

Seems to have the same read list, only he drops Salami to null... even though I haven't seen any indication in his posts or any reference to Salami for that matter that would explain this shift. He basically says that he's having second thoughts about some of his scum leans. So at this point he has Clov and Halli as his top scum reads.... even though he never really talked about them. He simply listed them as scum, supposedly out of a gut read. But he never refers to their content that I could see.

Yeah, see, this is really scummy. From a scum POV, he knows that most people are dropping csarmi from their scum reads at this point, and that Clov and Hallia are getting more of the heat now, so he echoes that sentiment, but can't explain why, because he doesn't see it as a townie - he sees it as scum who knows exactly what their alignments are. Er, that made sense in my head, hope it made sense here too.

Not an hour ago he mentioned Silli as one of the people he'd be willing to lynch. Yet in his read list he gives Silli a town read. Wombat is the second player he said he'd be willing to lynch (again, just an hour prior to this post)... but now he's listing him as null.  Err... okay? >.> I realize that he has like 20 pages between the previous post and the read list.... but his scum leans on page 50 go poof by page 70 and since he's not explaining himself and simply listing it all as a gut read.... I am unable to follow his line of thought and see exactly what made him change his mind and gravitate to other scum leans, like Clov, Hallia and Salami, which he DIDN'T EVEN MENTION up until now... aside from noting that salami was being defensive of Halli. Like this doesn't make any sort of sense to me.

Again, a good indicator of scum (this is where some of my scum read on Hallia comes from). I find logic fail a good indicator of scum, most of the time. With a townie - whether they themselves tend to be super logical people or not - there's a rational progression to their thoughts that you can follow. They may change their minds or decide to look at something a different way, but you can see it, even if they're not totally transparent in the content of their posts. When someone isn't making sense to me - and I don't mean "making sense" like not agreeing with, but when I actually can't make sense of where they're coming from - that's a scum indicator.

I don't know. I could vote for Thane, but I'm feeling pretty equal about him and Hallia, and I'm not unhappy that we've got some competing trains here. I'd like to see where the votes fall today, that'll be helpful going further into the game.

Then, by this logic, it wouldn't be SP because he would've caught up on QT. Full stop. So who's left?

Do you have any concerns about the fact there is no viable counter wagon to Thane right now? Or do you think Hally is that wagon?

I almost wanna lynch SP out of pure rage tho.

Lets do it.

Hi, caught mostly up from today. I'm also down for a Thane lynch. He hasn't done much really in terms of solving the game and his vote on Clov was slimy.

I'd say Verbal is a viable option, IMO. I haven't seen anything from him that wowed me so far. It's Tuesday. Him not being around on weekends doesn't hold anymore in regards to him still not having much in the sense of reads. I expect him to be fully caught up and raining truths on all of us by now.

You guys read faster than me. It's like EFFORT to get through all the pages just between when I said good night last night until I logged in this morning. And that was only 10 or 12 hours...

Nyn - Did you see this?

Were I to vote Thane and find he flips scum, it would be paramount to admitting defeat. I cannot allow myself to suffer such moral injustice.

I get toying with Des a bit given their relationship. But I don't recall Tommy ever ranking Hally as a bigger scum suspect than Thane. A Thane scum flip would look bad for him. It's a fact.

I don't understand. You were talking about Clov's flip... how are we suddenly talking about Thane?

So if Clov flips doc in the morning... that looks bad for people who were on Clov's wagon?  This is FALSE. Clov was not acting like TownieClov. Not to say that there couldn't be a wolf on his train but considering Clov's play, his train could very easily be only townies as well. Generally speaking, a doc turning up dead after claiming is a bottomless pit of WIFOM. Scum's first priority is to get rid of the doc. And I don't think it's necessarily connected to who was or wasn't on his train. And it's slimy to suggest otherwise.

Then you're saying that if Thane flips scum, it would make Tommy look bad. You're basically planting reasons to mislynch Tommy later on.

If I remember right Tommy had a townish read on Thane and obviously a scum read on Clov. Clov just claimed doc and didn't get CCed. So I could see how this would be frustrating to Tom, because I'm feeling the frustration myself considering Clov is by far the scummiest player in the game, imo. So it would stand to reason that he would be even more frustrated if he mistakenly read Thane as town and ends up possibly being wrong for the second time... he hates being wrong. We all do. Being wrong sucks.

I'm getting a feeling that you're doing a lot 'if this person flips X, then that would make Y look bad. And you're gonna come back to this on D2 to throw dirt on someone. Prolly Tommy. And it's coming across as wolfy.

I doubt Clov's train was all town, but I agree that Yates' angle on it is bad.

It helps if you skip Salami saying the same thing over and over again 15 times.

yeah, i'm reading everything. I'm busy with RL things and not paying a whole lot of attention in here. But, i'll say this: both Hallia and I would be bad wagons. I'll go with her town claim for now. I also claimed town, but yeah... i don't think claims are believed here.

which brings me too my gutfeel of wolves: i have no idea. my top two scumfeels claimed doc and vt. The way i see it, someone with a low number of posts would be viable for lynching.

It's like..... Cory told me that when he's all over the place in a game and doesn't know what's going on, then the best thing to do is to sheep your strongest townie lean. I can see the sense in that when you don't know which way to turn. It's better than shooting in all directions and hoping a scummy eats the bullet. And I can totally see how this game could be overwhelming.

But Verbal saying he's just gonna sheep his town reads bugs me a bit. Because this could just as well be a lazy scum that got caught up on what matters in the QT and doesn't wanna waste his time on conjuring up cases. I think it can go both ways. I also don't like that once we do have flips... we still can't infer anything from Verb cause he hasn't really expressed much of an independent thought. He would say.... oh well.... I guess I was wrong in trusting my townread?  oops.

I just would rather him make an effort and try anyhow then just give up and sheep people around. I can't discern his alignment this way.
