Vote Verb

Verb's misreps, blind pushes, and general lack of town play is getting out of hand. I'm over giving him the benefit of the doubt. He's been the scummiest player the past couple days and I'm saying **** all, I'm lynching this ewok.

And there it is. Knew you'd eventually go for that.

Here's the thing, Krak: I don't believe your "theoretical" statement of Mish, Yates, and Dice as town was theoretical at all. It read as your town list. If true, then I'm right and you are a walking contradiction.

Which means you should hang.

Also, blind pushes?!?! How have I not been obvious about what I'm thinking?

Talk about a misrep, Krakocrite.

You're not allowing for any other possibilities.  You've constructed a narrative without evidence based on how you think you would play this if you were scum.  You're pushing blind.

I can't believe you believe the things coming through your keyboard right now - this is getting ridiculous Verb.

You hopped on the LouNy lynch last minute which is the only town thing you've done this game.  You yourself said you forgot it was a hybrid hammer game.  So tell me why we should believe that you're town for that move?

I'm sorry for going AWOL; RL has kicked my butt hard the last few days and I'm utterly exhausted.

As Kronos said, we're thinking Krak or Verb.

Yates, I'm gonna put my trust in you now, since you're the most active person around that I have the strongest townie read on. I wish I could say I could help out with a reread, but my brain is mush and I know I won't be able. I know it's unfair and I'm sorry.

Psh. I'm trying to custom build railings and banisters for my house with my dad. We worked on it from like 8 AM until about 30 minutes ago and still have two more to do. It's a friggin nightmare. I was overly optimistic in thinking I'd be ab;e to read today. Based on how the last install went, I wouldn't hold my breath on a reread tomorrow either. Monday? Probably? [i'll post some pix if I get one done...]

There was always coppers at a coppers funeral.

"He was a good copper" Carrot said to a general murmur of agreement.

That was always said as well. Vimes could feel the rage building inside, but had no idea how to deal with it. He was no longer in a position where he could get blindingly drunk every night, not with young Sam. But that left him feeling impotent, Nobby had been killed. He'd been with them a long time, they'd been friends and now he was dead and Vimes didn't even know why.

The city walked on eggshells, waiting for the explosion that was coming

Current VC:

Verb (1): Krak

Not Voting (4): Dice, Verb, Wolfish, Yates

With 5 alive it takes 3 to lynch

Deadline is 6.30am Tuesday morning GMT (roughly 24 hours from this post)

Please note a deadline has been set

my thinking is that if we lynch from verb and krak today im thinking to lynch verb. its pure gut. ive been going thru ISOs on them and cant decide but my gut says to lynch the one who proposed the idea first.

Yeah, ok.  Try all the other posts I've had.  I'm throwing out theories and ideas, and trying to obtain agreement from all players.  Totally scum play there, you got me.

A little risky for me to propose that idea and get everybody's attention with it if I'm scum, eh?

The game has been limping along - we might as well do something.

Right. Good question. I think the problem here is that we don't have a ton of interaction between LouNy and the rest of the remaining players to make strong connections there. Plus, one thing I realized needed to be said in thread is that the LouNy wagon had zero resistance so it's likely the scum team knew the writing was on the wall and LouNy told their partner to distance as much as possible.

With that in mind, we are probably clearing people for the wrong reasons. After reading Krak's post, I actually started to tinfoil on Barm a bit last night - wondering if maybe Barm did a hard bus on LouNy knowing it would clear him for the rest of the game. Obviously that's not what happened in Barm's case, but this is an example of where my brain is going now because I feel like you all have good reasons for me to assume you are Town.

I would probably be inclined to lynch the one that proposed the idea first [Verb], but I feel like that's the "easy" way out. My gut also says that the person most trigger happy towards LYLO is the scum - in this case, Krak. But if Krak thinks it's going to be a 1 vs 1 going in, his vote makes sense.

My other problem, I'm realizing, is that hydras are difficult to read. I was in the middle of asking Mish when they decided that I was a blue read for them after reading her AWOL post I quoted because I remembered Kronos being suspicious of me earlier on and saying he thought he was going to vote me. It seemed like a contradiction and I am concerned about buddying towards the end of the game. Like, are they testing me to see if I'd be on their side in a LYLO situation? In the process of looking for quotes, though, I realized that the Mish head had been Town reading me from early on and - if you recall - was the head that stopped the CFD on me at the end of D1 with the assumption that I'd flip Town. It's like, I'd lynch Kronos today but have Mish as blue as Dice this game, and I don't know how I feel about that - lol.

Basically, Dice is the one person I will never even consider voting.

Krak has been blue [or at least DARK green] for me for a while. Yes, this is a heavily meta informed read but I have also found myself agreeing with him a lot outside of the Verb tunnel.

Verb has also been a dark green for me since pretty much D1 - and climbed up to blue after flips. I don't think scum Verb handles my early day investigation [busing vs distancing] on him as well as he did. Plus, we've been scum bros together. I feel like I have a pretty decent handle on his scum game and it doesn't look like this. One example off the top of my head, and the one informing this read the strongest, is Verb is anti-bus. When we were scum, as he pointed out, we buddied the crap out of each other. With that in mind, go look at how he treated Leelou - especially in his "not the answer I was looking for" post sequence. If she had scum slipped or was obviously the target of the day? I might buy it. But he was one of the first people to really scum read that slot and put attention on it. That's the opposite of what I would expect from scum Verb. So you can imagine my confusion when we had this exchange:

Are you messing around, Verb? You really think scum buses in this situation? This is completely the opposite of what I think. Also, I promise you I won't be lynching Krak today.

Nope, I'm serious.  If it were me, I'd be burying my scum vote on my partner, and vice versa - especially if we both were lynch candidates.

I can't make sense of it because of this:

Verb, don't you think crossing is too obvious though?

Exactly why I think they did it.  Yates should remember our scum game where we hard-defended our whole team and easily won.  The idea is not that far-fetched.

I don't know. I may have just talked myself into a Verb lynch but I'm not feeling good about that.

You just described exactly how scum acquires Town consensus to hide behind as if it proves you are Town. That's not a great defense.

LOL - I was in the middle of typing up my WOT when you posted this. I agree that you are typically not the one to draw attention to the scum slot. That's why I was confused about your bussing post I quoted above. Am I wrong? Don't you typically buddy your scum bros to victory? Or was our game the anomaly that proves the rule?

@Yates - I think your post was excellent.  Think about the wrinkle in this game, though - only 2 scum.  My tendency to buddy would be waayyyyy too risky a play.

Either way, I like your train of thought.

But if Krak thinks it's going to be a 1 vs 1 going in, his vote makes sense.

Except he's shown a willingness to "tinfoil" and therefore open up you and other "blues" to potential lynches.  In other words, he is clearly not willing to lock down more than 1 blue......if he did that, he'd have no outs at endgame.

To me, this seems obvious.  Perhaps I'm being too pushy in trying to describe it.

For me, it's how I feel after skimming over D1. The interactions between you and LouNy seem forced to me now, and between you and Verb, I have a stronger town feel on Verb.

Misheros and Dice I am unwilling to lynch.  I want to lynch you and then, should you flip town, lynch Yates.

So I'm lynched and flip town.  Who's next for you?

ME

And that is why I'm town and you're not.  You have yet to offer the possibility that YOU might need to die in order for town to win.  And that, my friend, has been a mistake.

^ my above scenario makes my lynch endgame......meaning if I'm scum I just lost the game.  Yeah, I'd totally go for that as scum.

<insert ridiculous eyeroll smiley here>

Well then let's lynch Yates

Again, if you're town, your plan is bad.

Are you gambiting or flailing right now?
