@AJ - Any thoughts on the rest of Key's posts?  They looked like a legit catch-up to me.  I see your point on the Len comment and I didn't like the Des vote as a joke after what appeared to be a legit catchup.  Other than that nothing pinged.

Fwiw I don't think that Addi post looks that bad when keeping it mind who made it.

 

I think newer players have a harder time presenting on thread so they come across abrasive. I certainly did my first game.

 

I'd like to wait her out a bit and keep her talking so see what we can learn.

 

And there is the D1 new player common courtesy so I'm not going there today.

 

 

This is what I've been waiting for.  When I was scum in Tron Mafia, I was trying to push a lynch on Drunk Tank, who was playing his first game here (and not exactly what I'd call a pro-town game).  TG wasn't having any part of what a few of us were selling on DT, citing that doesn't believe in lynching a new player on D1.  When I saw that the replacement player here was someone new to the site, I figured I'd see if TG would be willing to roll on her if she got some pressure.  I'm not going to say he's lock!town because of it, but it helps his chances and I'd certainly be pushing him as scum had he hopped on the wagon.  

 

As for Addi, I actually like her to be town here quite a bit.  She certainly wouldn't be the first person to play up the "confused noob" role, but she has two plausible excuses this game for being more "aware" than your typical noob (two confirmed town mason groups, AND she knows Darthe).  I also like her vote on me.  The reasoning was really bad, but it's her first game...whatcha gonna do?  The reason I like it is that I figure it's pretty unlikely that her teammates would be encouraging her to start a fight with one of the more vocal players in the game using something that could easily be spun as an OMGUS retaliation vote.  Darthe may have townspewed her, too.

And this is why it's pretty much always protown to lynch you Lenlo. You do what you want instead of doing what you SHOULD do to try and help your team win. You got a little bit of attention for your constant jokey meta for a bit so you thought that was license to do it more, but the fact is you STILL have not shown that you are able to actually do stuff to help your team win, ever.

THIS looks opportunistic to me.  Like you said, she's a new player - I don't know what kind of reasoning you expect her to display, and I think most people would agree that what she said doesn't really suggest her alignment one way or another.  Others can chime in if I'm wrong here, but I don't see it.

She wasn't saying that she "sensed" Lenlo was scum last game, obviously it was a bus move. She was saying she didn't sense he was scum this time, and considering she KNEW he was scum last game, it's feasible that she'd be able to notice immediate differences.

To sort of piggyback off what AJ said, I think you're reaching here man.  I didn't get the impression that AJ is trying to push her from this, or somehow discredit or, or make her reads somehow less substantiated.  I don't think there was a NEED for this post because I find last game mostly irrelevant at this point, but what he said isn't wrong in any way.

I think he's trying too hard to seem contributing right now.  I usually follow his WoTs pretty well, but a lot of the points he brought up look like he's either reaching to blow something out of proportion or just wants to say something to say it.

I thought you were just trying to pressure a new player and was going to let you run with it for a minute but then dice jumped in with his soulread.  It's one thing to pressure, but it's not acceptable to not give a new player time to even get their feet wet.

It's meaningless to me without an explanation.  It could be an opener or something else.  Her first vote in the first game was on a teammate, and I remember her going at Red pretty strongly when they were scum together in ABBA (albeit after Red was basically outed), so I wouldn't put it past her to bus if she is scum.

Basically the way she mentioned the QT point as "original thought" then followed with the +1 on what we had already said seemed like she was reading up and commenting real time without having read ahead.

It's also not congruent with the content of this game to when he was posting last game so the observation isn't really even that founded outside of ~feels
