And Tom.

And Des, I'm sure.

And Darthe.

And Turin/Ithi.

We had Des and Turin as town all game. I read Darthe correctly day one but didn't like him since N1.

AJ, I voted you for a while yes.

I think the biggest obstacle facing DM towns is the tendency to completely flip around when something doesn't go exactly the way they expected... or even for no reason at all sometimes.

It's very rare that one new piece of information weighs enough to completely tip the scales of the information that's already available. You don't need to completely 180; you adjust. New information should be averaged with existing information; not replace existing information.

Using one new piece of evidence and ignoring all the prior information is much more likely to come from scum pushing a mislynch, but I saw town utilizing this kind of thinking.

I also think there are some "scumtells" in use that aren't actually scum behavior but are something mafia in the past used to scapegoat someone and the idea stuck in people's brains.

If I had my way I would show you guys how to toneread, too. Darthe and Des on D1/D2 were my top town reads for a reason. TG outing himself regarding the Pral event was real. Understanding that TG's, Des's and Puppet's claims aren't gonna come from scum -- also not difficult. People that think mafia is purely a logic or a math game are wrong. There's a very distinct human element, and to my mind it is the most helpful element for solving games.

Which scum tells in particular?

Oh and thanks Cory and key. I had a lot of fun. I take full credit for the sweep. Does anyone want to see the scum qt?

Nobody wants to see you talk to yourself for a week

Lmao, you sure? It was riveting stuff me talking to myself. I made some good points. Had a few disagreements with myself. It was therapeutic.

In retrospect, Arsis was being WAY too reasonable to be Town...

I said that in the QT. I was wondering why no one was suspecting me being so helpful. I am going to start being nicer.

Meta is useless with me. Tom had a good scum tell for me that I hope he doesn't share.

Whelp. This definitely wasn't TRW-level of frustration, but eh it was a scum roflstomp, so obv fairly frustrating to deal with. Hats off to scum team, but I def think it was more a case of town losing than scum winning. Not trying to be bitter about it, but yeah...

Not trying to say scum played bad or anything. Thought Arsis played a very good game. The others basically stayed utr just long enough to let town mislynch itself away.

Altho my reads were lolbad at times, overall I don't really feel that bad. My townreading was pretty spot on most the game, clearing Tommy, TG, and Csarmi early, Pray later on (tho I didn't stop his lynch). Also had gut town reads of Darthe, SP, and Dice that I later went back on (and then back again in SP and Dice's case). In Darthe's case, the main thing was that he seemed very townie early on, but claiming to protect Krak was just... Jackie Chan, and then his play later in the game DID seem bizarre and opportunistic. There WAS one post that made me think his Doc claim was legit- a post sometime around EOD2 I believe where Darthe was uber confident he wouldn't get lynched, I wish I had made a bigger deal about that post since it was a legit strong Doctell.

I made the mistake once again of letting minor scum reads hang by the wayside and getting distracted by bizzare play from townies that seemed more likely to come from scum. Krak seemed wolfy to me all game, but I kept getting "bigger fish to fry". Arsis seemed scummy to me till I thought Turin spewed him as town, and when Turin flipped town I started tinfoiling on him again, but then cop spew made me think Slendy viewed him inno. TG def showed himself out after replacing in for Swag, but Swag getting to go that long without activity made it very hard to pressure that slot properly. As for Manbat... well he seemed wolfy to me and very unhelpful, but I essentially fell for his AtEish posts, believing his frustrationg to be genuine (and it turns out it basically was). This is why I make such a big deal about AtE posts- it so often ends up in people being "cleared" for bad reasons. I did find it very townie when he broke up little spats between others, so good job fooling me there.

Who was the townie who voted quickly last day btw? When it was obvious votes would be locked in... I think it might have been Yates. That was just... ouch that hurts. When votes are locked in like that, and it's also declared as mylo... holy crap deciding to place a vote with the quickness there anyways is just another Jackie Chan moment

Biggest Jackie Chan mo was def Pray shooting Tom tho. He played the role wrong period like Tom said, holding his claim like it would be a trump card, even tho by his own admission it was a tough claim to believe, and if you're going to hold onto a role like that with the plan of using the shot later in the game (which is ughhhhhh since it REQUIRES a mislynch just to be used), you ALWAYS shoot the most obvious scum there... which was TG. I can understand not shooting Darthe for the Doc claim, and that would have been basically as bad, but trying to be all clever with it and go for the "deep wolf" there when a mis shot can absolutely doom town was ... bad. And usually Pray has good instincts. /shrug

Don't have any problems with the setup btw. Momentarily forgot about the Miller earlier, but yeah basically the two negative utility roles there (Miller and Hunter) help balance out the role heavy town along with power scum roles. Also liked the flavor, and besides one little blurb (getting one of my NA's rushed accidentally) I think mods did a pretty awesome job altogether.

So gg scum team again, thank you Cory and Key, and yeah, till next time!

I feel really stupid about letting Monstr go; I had him dead to rights for his reactions to me and then he had a simultaneous meltdown in all his games and I thought he could actually be town who just was distracted by IRL stuff and that's why he was playing different.

URRRGGGGHHHHHH

Maybe that thought should have occurred D2 as well.

Nice game Cory. I was totally confused by the amount of roles as I always thought Standard was in effect Basic+. This was more like Advanced but not multiple teams.

Well played mafia. The level of distancing and busing going on was interesting to see. You caught some breaks but played well. Nice victory.

Yes nice 0/4 #solve on D2.

Krak was busted on D1 EOD but no one listened.

Living Townies can't spew mafia as town. this is awful logic.

If someone would have just looked at Arsis and Krak after I was dead things would have been much different.

Someone said in the thread I forget who. Bad or weird play is NOT mafia play.

Again GG mafia

Thanks to Key and Cory for the game.

No one listened because you think being right matters more than what you can convince people is true. It's not about what you know it's about what you can convince other people of. If you knew krak was scum day 1 that's on you for not being able to convince anyone else. Doubly so if it was obvious.

That said it's just a game and I had fun with everyone. :)

Love you all.

you guys should fight more about an internet game imo

I'm always willing to readjust reads accordingly, and well there were some legit scummy acting townies this game /shrug

Krak looked bad but you flailing took the pressure off him D2, essentially. So *golfclap*

I thought you were scum... scum can DEF spew townies even while alive... plus I clarified that I started tinfoiling on Arsis again after you flipped town, but then cop spew made me think he was town again, and he played pretty convincingly after that. I don't feel bad about missing him
