@Rand: if you trade lynches and mislynches 1 to 1, town loses.

Start the game 3:9, then 2:6, then 1:3, and then you're at lylo with a bunch of information, and if doc hasn't been found yet, then a doc and a cop possibly.  I think that's pretty good.

I don't know with full certainty what his alignment is. I'm leaning scum because lying as scum makes a ton more sense than lying as town. But you never know. It wouldn't be the first time a townie gets stupid *smiles at Mynd*

Let's answer a few questions in no particular order.

 

I revealed because in the next three days I have a class, around five hours of drive time, a test and interviews for two jobs and a visit with Nicole who isn't such a fan of me playing this game for long periods.  

 

I revealed because I garnered two votes within the first hours of day, votes that I may mention were very weakly placed.  The main arguments against me in this game are that I disagree with the way salami waves his salami around on thread and that I am a graduate student, synonymous with saying that I am unduly busy.  In essence, blow me.  

 

I would have revealed later in the day if I had not been attacked so aggressively through this day and the night.  I gathered that if I revealed mid-late day what would happen is people would doubt my claim more and I may get lynched or talked over since I, as I mentioned above, wouldn't be able and keep up with the EoD thread pace.  My preference was to actually not reveal at all today but, meh, it was somewhat forced by the situation.  

 

I viewed Nyn because I like to play to a few concepts that a lot of people disagree with.  First, I don't view from the top anymore.  It's too formulaic and people in that area are likely to get NK'd wasting the cop power.  Second I was only going to view people in the middle of my pool, which is limited.  Also, notably I somewhat skew my town/scum reads as cop to live longer. Third, my gut said that Nyn/Hally were my best bet for scum after D1.  I have no idea why.  

 

Anything else?... I think that about covers it all.  At least as much as I intend to answer for now.

I still have no idea why people didn't vote you yesterday.  What happened to your read on Tom?  Yesterday you were absolutely convinced there was no way he was town,and now you're not even interested in looking at him? 

 

Also, FTR...loving the TG and Mynd fisticuffs...have no idea on any alignment but think TG is winning the debate.

 

Well, I agree on your conclusion.  The fact that you're not drawing any alignment from that makes me think you don't care.

 

 

My read on Tom is the same.  I'm interested in hunting scum.  The town did not support me yesterday and thought it was best to hunt elsewhere today.  Would you prefer I just avoid the game altogether and stay on Tom?  Not really my style to play like that.

 

I care.  Hoping the townie has the better argument cause we need to resolve that conflict after we lynch Nyn.

 

 

You lynched person based on a hunch, and you named two other suspects without giving a reason. Didn't mention Tom at all.  Looked like you were avoiding him or changed your mind.

 

What I would prefer probably doesn't matter, but since you're asking...I'd like to actually get thoughts on things.

 

@Clov - town would gain more info if Darthe built a case on Nyn before his claim. I've seen mafia do it before lylo before, it almost got me lynched in the House game, and mafia went on to win anyway. There's also a decent chance of mafia having RB instead of GF.

 

Given Nyn's read list I think I believe Darthe right now, but my preference would still be to wait until everyone's checked in.

It's a good trade because once you see my flip, you got Darthe in the bag, which means one scum less to worry about.

I never know why Darthe does what he does and I totally don't get his general play in games. He never makes sense to me. I have no idea why he would out himself to lynch me specifically. Maybe he thought I was a PR, in which case it was a hit and miss on his part and all he's taking down with him is a vanilla. His dumbwitted move earns him that much.

Waste of an investigation.  In what scenario could Darthe be town if you are another cop in a basic game?  If there is one, which I can't see, Darthe reveal your crazy play right after Nyn flips so this doesn't happen.  So I guess to prevent any weird stuff, cop cc after Darthe has made at least one post after Nyn's death.

You and I both know that this wouldn't be the first time town lied about having a result to help a lynch along.  Maybe he tracked Nyn, or watched somebody and Nyn targeted them, and he figured she was unlikely to be a townie from it.  I don't know.  Maybe he's a role cop and the other is the traditional cop.

 

It would, however, be the first time I've seen a member of the mafia fake an investigation on their own teammate early in a game to prevent themselves from being lynched.  Darthe was at 2 out of 6...maybe he gets those 4, maybe he doesn't.  What I do know is that Nyn was unlikely to be lynched today, so why would he give her up to save himself?  It makes more sense to let the scum member with the most pressure die IMO.

 

 

I think the most logical conclusion is that Darthe is town and telling the truth.  If he happens to be lying AND is scum, I would prefer the cop play it closer to the chest, rather than out themselves and risk a NK/roleblock/redirect.  If he comes up town, the real cop knows they have someone they can trust and remains hidden.
