For some reason this still really doesn't reassure me about Red

Not at all. Starting to be afraid Red has done most of the work setting Wombat up today.

But will also 'widen my horizons' as day breaks.

Mynd didn't claim to be a Dreamer- he claimed to have gotten a special nightmare/dream on N1 because he said the H word thrice.

Wombat flipping town has me locking Dawn in as scum as mentioned before. Additionally, she's falling into heavy whyme fryme territory lately- way too obsessed with defending herself, and asking people who they think is coaching her

Don't feel quite as bad about Hallia now, altho I still don't like her ditching responsibility for scum reads by just mentioning the three names Mynd gave

Worried Mynd could be playing us- as I have already covered, the Dreamer mechanics are different than how he described his thing was

Tsuki needs to be friggin vig shot or something. Like I said, completely useless, and admitting to lurking. Looks like he loses all "try hard" mentality as scum mebbe

Red.... eh I dunno. Haven't forgotten everything I posted on her earlier... she could be worth revisiting. Her white knight defense of Wombat was a little much, altho I can imagine town!Red being that stubborn about something as well

I wanna look at Lenlo''s "case" on Dap myself to review how I feel about him, but I'm holding out hope Hoof just MK's the slot for us

Eh all I got atm.

If I can't find a replacement by daybreak I will MK him. Whatever role, alignment or what-not, a vacant player is unfair to everyone.

Posted

Mynds dream might be true or not. He might be lying or not.

I don't see the motivation/reason for lying about it, but in this game, with this theme, I wouldn't put my trust in it no matter if he is lying or not. It will be worth revisiting of course, but I think if we focus too much on it we're just entangling ourself in WIFOM and ignoring a lot of interesting players.

Besides that, I'm awaiting daybreak for more flips and to see what happens to Daps slot.

Lying about a Dream or being a Dreamer is an easy way to set up multiple mislynches for town potentially. You say there's at least one scum in a group, and actually give three townies. Even if town lynches just two of your targets before figuring out that you're lying, you've still done your job (if any single scummer is able to get more than one other person mislynched, even if they get lynched themselves they have given their team a leg up in numbers, assuming successful NK's each night)

Posted

Sucks, but right now I'm hoping for a Dap modkill cause his flip can help me determine whether or not Mynd was lying. I won't believe any crap about his reads somehow being affected by another role or anything. If Dap is town, Mynd is lock scum, for me at least.

On another level, Dap being this inactive IS hurting the game period, and a replacement means having to build an entirely new read on someone, so in that case a modkill would still be better for town.

While two modkills by day 3 is pretty disasterous I'm gonna have to agree here.

Also because - as Hoof just said - it's gonna be a bitch to read through. A replacement probably won't have caught up until d4 >_<

Well. Concidering he said the H-word three times and didn't get silenced - something ought to have happened. It's possible something happened he isn't telling us - and lied about the dream instead.

Not ruling it out, but I'm struggling to see it play out like that. If it did, I'm wrong and this is a scheme then hat off at least.

If Dap is modkilled (and I expect he will be) and flips town, what do you think that says for Mynd's chances to be telling the truth?  I'm still pretty content with Des being town based off his play, and I don't believe Pral would do what he did to save a teammate on D2 that could be mechanically proven to be scum (i.e., lynch Wombat, Mynd flips town, Dap flips town).

If Dap flips town, I will know that Despo is scum.  That, of course, is from my POV.  I really don't like how Red was 100% convinced of Wombat's alignment. Like she did with Tommy, she seemed to be gung-ho about arguing how she was so sure he was town....but the only way a non-cop player can be 100% convinced is if that player is scum themselves.

Ya know, a thought.   What if Lenlo assumed that he was going to die when he H-H-H'd?  If he expected to die and flip scum, his push on Dap would have almost cleared him.

I'm back to 50/50 Despo and Dap as possible scum.

Halia is definitely high on the list too.

This might be the stupidest theory/suggestions I've seen in a while, and I just finished a game where somebody suggested we lynch another player for using capital letters.  I'm 100% certain that Lenlo didn't decide to post something he thought would result in a mechanical kill on him while writing a case on a teammate so that we would WIFOMclear that teammate the following day phase.

so Dap tomorrow and we should mutli train imp on either Dawn or Halia.

Danw is just plain scummy and Halia's jumping around was just opportunistic.

oh i think wombats town, wait no Despo is town, nah i'm kidding wombats town.

Easy Clov, I'm not saying this is fact but it is possible.  Lenlo had NO IDEA what would happen if he HHH'd.  I've played games where an entire scum team sacrificed one of their own to make the rest of themselves look good.  Lenlo was clearly in a YOLO mood when he tested that.  He made sure that he fingered Dap just before doing it.  It was planned that he target Dap.  That was his choice.  He didn't just happen to build a case and then "oh yeah, lemme play with fire" - it was on purpose.

The fact of the matter is that neither one of us knew what would happen if we HHH'd.  Granted, as town, I placed my vote on who I actually thought was scum (Tommy).

I see your point, but allow me to clarify.  I had written Dap off as town for a while; however, I started thinking about it.  It is possible that Lenlo pushed a case on Dap just before he tested the waters with HHH.  He had no idea what would happen so he could have set up a case on a fellow scumbad just in case he were killed and flipped scum.  That would essentially write Dap off as town.

No one else was pushing for a Dap lynch at that time.  Why Dap?  Why did he choose him of all players in the game at that point?  Especially with everything going on with Cory and Tommy? Why specifically Dap? Dap hadn't really done much of anything at that point.

Bold is blatantly wrong.  Lenlo had said exactly 0 things about, or towards, Dap before doing something that would get him silenced.  The case came in the exact same post, and actually followed it.  I don't doubt that the case, itself, was on purpose but I'm not sure why you think Dap (or anybody else) had ANY indication that there would be a punishment

Hi guys! Im alive!

Bye guys! Im off to court for the rest of the day!

Hope they lock your arse up.

If only you would be so lucky. No, sadly its jury duty.

Uuuuugh 5 min break I want to go hooooooome.

Caught up. I promise its not a summary this time, but for you non believers you can read it below and see what you think.

First page of the game and we have 3 people auto locking Villa. Granted these 3 people are also some of the weirdest but still. Just for record for later on those 3 people are Despot, Cory/Hallia and Wombat.

Now in the first post of the game is Cory proclaiming villager status and basically what looks to me like overselling himself and Hallia. Knowing Cory and how he is this isnt completely scummy for him, but its something to keep an eye on. Quote provided.

I wasn't even worried looking at my Role PM

Knew I'd be a villager

corycurren never wrong (except those times he's hilariously wrong but this was not one of those times)

So yeah, get @ me, all that stuff, yadda yadda

Lock me in

[v]Jason[/v]

Also, I really want to try saying 'Hastur' three times, just to see what happens.  (My advice?  Don't do it on the grounds that, in a Cthulhu-based game, it could be an insta-kill.)

Hastur Hastur Hastur.

Bring it.

So we go afew pages with some jokes about sports and stuff, which is par for the course but its broken when RTE just pops in and claims Villager (4 on that list now, though he wasnt in the first wave with the other 3.) and Darthe immediatly starts going after RTE for this. This is abit fast imo, could be jumping on the first shot he could get. Vos on the next page follows Darthe on this, (mistakes Darthe for Des which is weird. Slip?) But he says the OP stuck out to him when the other 3 didnt. Wonder why. Cheap excuse to hop on RTE? Player also comes out with his first post and says RTE's OP was sticky yet doesnt vote nor does he say anything else about why it would be seen that way and that pings to me.

Other-game-referencing-self-"meta"-defense doesn't convince me you're town

Thin line to connect but ok

*notes rte making sure that everyone knows he has been in a similar situation as town*

These two quotes one after the other on the bottom of pg 6 stuck out to me. They are basically saying the same thing, that its a weak defence, when I dont think RTEs post was a defence but a joke. The way they are using it though looks like they are trying to paint RTE as scummy and this pings me. ATM Vos and Player are my two biggest scum reads because of their push just for RTEs OP and yet one of them doesnt bother to vote them. Players quote in particular looks like a subtle push.

Fair enough.

Colour me amused.

Betcha one of the two votes on me is scum!

That doesn't mean you aren't as well...

So this quote sticks out to me. Dap doesnt even bother to defend and say that hes not scum, he just right on in saying "That doesnt mean you arnt as well...". He never denies being scum here, he only tries to implicate RTE as scum and this pings ALOT. Dap is my number one scum read so far.

Kind of like a more spastic Lenlo.

Thats a thing? My god...

Womb and Cory get into a little tussle of semantics next but nothing big happened here imo. Maybe abit of an over reaction from Cory but he hasnt gone critical yet though so meh. Nothing to indicitive on page 8 here though.

Dawn comes in and takes shots at Cory and Darthe, but then refutes herself saying if I think hes town hes prolly scum if I think hes scum hes prolly town and this is pretty classic waffling and I dont like it. So Ping. Also here on this page though was Tsuki coming in and making jokes which is odd. From what ive seen from Tsuki is hes generally much more into the game and pretty good at casing. Want more. Dawn continues to fight against Cory with, what are imo, subpar arguements. Leaning scummy on Dawn here.

cory regularly attempts to influence 14 year old girls to do questionable things...

move-along-now-nothing-to-see-here.png

HAHAHAHAHHAHAHAHAH. Tsuki wins the page.

Red comes in with a very villagery post imo. Shes gets right to casing everyone and she also calls out Vos for exactly what im calling him out on. All in all RED IS THE NEW GREEN

Darthe makes a long post and at the end presents this reads list.

Btw, Villa now firmly includes:

Dap

Womby

Mynd (cause I see no reason not to)

Banana Slayer

Quibby

Vos

Scum team is:

Cory

Tsuki

RTE

???

That last slot won't take me long.  Just go ahead and concede.

Imo its crap. I find both Vos and Dap to be scummy, Dawn hasnt really done much which while that is par for her, shes been taking on Cory which isnt normal. I also dont think Quibly or Mynd have presented enough to get solid reads on them. As for the scum list I might be able to see Tsuki, as hes generally a much more focused player than this, but hes still not that scummy compared to Vos and Dap imo. Around here Mynd also pops in and basically makes a nonsense post and then votes Cory. Thats yuck and Ping worthy.

Next Des makes a BOSS WoT and while I dont agree with some of what hes selling, id say its still worth the price of admission. Not that I had a choice. Cause he didnt spoiler it. Punk. (Pg 11) I disagree with his vote on RTE on the next page though. An OP like that, especially from RTE, doesnt make him Scum. Its RTE, the dudes a walking magnet for votes. Des does preface his vote saying though that RTE is a pretty scummy villager which I agree with and that it might be better to remove the distraction. To me though RTE looks like an easy lynch to push and something that alot of people here could do without much effort.

Now Dap finally, FINALLY, votes RTE after the train gets DESPOT APPROVAL. This looks like jumping onto an easy lynch with someone who is not afraid to push it to the end of time. Its scummy, its pingy and I want it gone. Everything is just some playful banter.

Reads list.

Despothera - Town

[v]Player[/v]

So yeah. Follow your new messiah. Leave Cory in proverbial and literal dust and follow me to lands untouched by the savages of war. After we lynch Dap that is.

Because there wouldn't be much resistance?  Because he was content letting Cory and Tom fight amongst themselves?  He didn't think he could actually get them lynched?  To discredit Dap early for a later lynch that would actually go through?

I don't know.  It COULD be distancing, but scum's job is to cause mislynches.  I don't know Dap, but I'd be willing to guess people are a lot more willing to lynch him than Cory or Tom.  It could be a lot of reasons.

So yeah. Follow your new messiah. Leave Cory in proverbial and literal dust and follow me to lands untouched by the savages of war. After we lynch Dap that is.

Gee, you don't say...

Both Tommy and Cory were off the walls scummy on D1.  When three or four of your most skilled townies are pushing for a lynch on another skilled townie,  I doubt the mafia would want to push a lynch in a totally different direction on another townie who is completely not involved.

My feeling is that Lenlo didn't know what might happen but just in case he would be killed, he built a case on Dap out of thin air.  If he was killed right then, wouldn't most of us have written off Dap as town at that point?

I don't know. I doubt Lenlo knew he was going to get silenced. Or expected to wind up dead soon after. If he was going to bus I would have expected him to spew a couple of names. Not just the one. Not saying it's not possible, just that it seems less likely.
