I've always seen Mish as one of those players who dislikes conforming, so I don't see her hints as a scumtell.  The fact that she hasn't done much else though is weird, but I'm willing to wait for her on that.

Then explain it to me. There are no PRs in this game, so theres no chance of town outing something important, so I have no idea why shes hinting. This also shows why I think hinting is stupid. A minority of players figure it out and that gives them an advantage of more information. If scum figure it out, since they have that little brain trust of a QT, then they are now even more ahead in information. Thats bad, btw.

Id figure in a no role game though, with nothing to set people apart, if one person was going to get a main char we all would have. Afterall theres plenty of chars to go around.

I'm not investing a ton of value in this, but these are some of the reactions I was hoping to generate with the claiming thing. Here Mish hints that she is an important character because the movie is titled after her - but I can think of 3 different movies off the top of my head in which the main character's name is also the title. This enables her to hint at being a major character without necessarily hard claiming one - in other words it gives her leeway for later on. I also dislike the tone in the counter-accusatory way she addresses Lenlo.

I think the Mish-Len interaction is interesting. I agree Len is acting strangely desperate about Mish claiming (especially the post where he basically says "no, I'm not desperate! WHO ARE YOU!?"), refusing to drop the point. I also think her "hinting" is a valid one, since it arose by someone claiming that everyone is probably side characters - so it would make sense to clear that up. 

 

I'm however wary of her coyness combined with her lack of comment on other stuff in the game. But it's still relatively early D1, so I'm not making assumptions on either Len or Mish at this point. I think it warrants mentioning though - because something is really off with the interaction between them, and it's something I'm pretty sure it'll be worth revisiting. 

 

Also, still dislike the continuous sidetracking with the characters. As stated earlier not a fan of the claim fest - but now even less fan of how it's used to distract and derail.

1. I think mish teasing about her claim is weird. She is almost baiting lenlo when he brings it up the second time.

 

2. Also instead of asking me why i think those people need pressure, why dont you add your two cents about their game play and whether you think im on point? or do you just want to know why i brought you up?

 1. I've made it pretty clear on-thread why I did that... but it seems everyone is content to ignore that because it's so much more fun to accuse me of nothing ;)

 

2. I wanted some actual reasons out of you, not just a list of names. I want to be able to read you.

 

If your purpose was to dispel Len's idea that most of the claims would've been secondary characters then you should have come right out and say it. It isn't like your character is going to link you to a PR or something, so really you had no good reason to skirt around hinting unless you had something to hide or did not want to be pinned to one thing specifically. This to me was scummy.

 

You saying you did so purposely to draw attention to yourself is poor - as townies are likely to attack scummy behavior more often than not as actual mafia.

In any case, Mish's actions are making more sense to me after her explanation, and she's slid back from slightly scummy to null for me. But I'd hardly call that trap effective. Given that it was AJ's idea to mass claim, he was obviously going to follow up with someone skirting the issue, whether he's town or scum.

Amega doesn't look scummy to me. I think he's responding pretty level-headedly, I was able to follow what he was saying if you spend the time trying to understand.

 

I think Len is town. Any pushes in his way are either misguided or scummy.

 

I like Wombat's activity but I get the vibe that he's more looking for a reason to vote someone than actually hunting for scum. I think some of his pushes/cases have been sort of weak, he's latching onto small things and driving them into the dirt.

 

Mish's 'trap' is funny - but unfortunately doesn't make her scum. At least she finally claimed and has now locked herself into a character. I'll [unvote] for now.

 

I haven't personally played with Alanna yet, so I don't know her meta, but I do like the way she posts. Concise, to the point, and objective. Would anyone be able to speak on her as a player through experience?
