Anyway, good game, everyone; I have really missed playing with a lot of y'all :) And thanks to Despo for modding; I enjoyed it, overall.

I'm happy to co-mod this again sometime, Despo. We'll definitely have to figure out a few things, but we'd be smarter about the deadlines and some action resolution stuff. Takes entirely too much logistics BTW.

Just to let you in on some problems: On Night 2, Dawn could have stopped the Angel Protect by simply voting anything. She's been online all through the night deadline so I had to wait up for it to pass, THEN tell Pray he got nothing to do, then start resolving all the other stuff.

We were lucky last day-end with the Darthe-role (Leelou was online), but that can make the day longer so you see.

I find it strange that we received so few questions about roles, possible usage, tactics and all - we were there to answer and happy to. Did you guys not like the setup?

I didn't know how to stop the angel protect thing...

And this setup was really confusing but I liked it since nobody had a clue on who the scum were. After I died, I was reading this thread and was like "Wow,,,,they are so clueless"

Good game everyone :)

Thanks Vos.  You did a very good job discrediting me once I was dead :)

That's pretty normal, dude.  A lot of people just aren't in the habit of asking the mods questions.

Vos was the saving grace of the scum team. I tried to do to much as scum and be early got caught. My late game was much better then the early game.

Mish, wombat and lily all had great instincts and the town would of made it a dog fight if we'd of missed the last night.

Speaking of no coroners, I understand this makes things a bit more difficult, so I sympathize with those who were lamenting that, however I will say this is a bit different from other non-coroner games. There are actually numerous ways and possibilities of clearing someone's role or alignment up after they're dead (especially the Csarmi role, which survived till the end), so it wasn't really like everything was going to be shrouded in secrecy the whole game.

Although I was one of those who got really frustrated with it at one point, I would actually love to play this setup again, now having a better understanding of how you can go about clearing people without coroner reports, in this particular setup. The cool thing about this game is that it got me thinking a lot about how I scumhunt. Really, I'm a gut instinct person, and the problem with that is that you can't just say, well, my gut instinct is that so-and-so is scum, and you should all just believe me. So I think at some point, in my mafia - career, shall we say :P - I started relying a lot on looking at lynches and interactions based on information from coroner reports.

The thing about gut feelings, though, is that they don't just come from nowhere. If you have a gut feeling about someone being scummy, it's probably because of something they said or did at some point in the thread. So I'm interested now in trying to do that more, instead of relying so much on coroner reports, in order to scumhunt. As I type this, I feel like it's sort of a really obvious thing (lol) that I'm sure a lot of people do already, and I know I do it to some degree even now, but it's a muscle I'd like to learn to stretch a little more.

Something funny I realized about "gut feelings"- a lot of times, they come from tone reads. I've gotten really good at using tone reads to help me scumhunt, and yeah when you look at a post and you start getting a feeling that that person is scum but you can't seem to figure out why, a lot of times it's probably because the post doesn't read right to you, it's tone doesn't seem like it comes from a townie.

Tone reads are still not easy to defend against and are somewhat vague, but at least it sounds more convincing or more concrete than "gut feelings" which actually are still quite useful. It's just that, it's a game of discussing things and boiling stuff down, and there's not much that can be discussed about a gut feeling

Fwiw Alanna I've always found you to be a very skilled scumhunter. I was happy to see you got my namesake lol.

Thanks Des and Csarmi. Was a really interesting game.

The Dap role.....talk about having to rely on gut instincts  and then u get it wrong....    Biggest problem with the Dap role was it went to me who people usually find scummy no matter what and lynch by D3. I was very aware of that.

@Alanna   Im very much a gut instinct and find its correct most of the time. I actually learnt to listen to my gut more by playing Trivia actually  lol  I would have an answer instantly pop into my head, then think about it, give another answer and find out my first was right like 90% of the time.  Same with Mafia

The Dap role is an end-game winner/tactical role. Also one of the few roles that may be claimed when you intend to use it up.

In fact, I was completely baffled that Jack's scum claim (pls use up the Dap role which is one of the biggest threat to maffia endgame) went unchallenged.

Well, I pretty much sucked this game.  Tbh, I don't really like the setup.  Kudos to Des for wanting to bring it here and try it out.....just not my cup of tea.
