So very eloquent... not. This has got to be the most worthless pile of non-reasoning I've seen in ages.

 

You weren't part of the game in question. You weren't there for a player having to drop out because he couldn't even load the game thread due to people automatically assuming that everyone's internet setup was as good as their own. You weren't there when another player came close to also dropping out over the same thing. How the hell are people supposed to play mafia when they can't even load the thread? That's not even counting the complaints I was getting from other players (who shall remain nameless) who were sick of reading the personal out-of-game argument that got brought on thread. I'd been really looking forward to running this game. Instead it turned into the biggest modding mess of my entire mafia career. AND YOU SERIOUSLY THINK I WANT TO HAVE TO DEAL WITH THAT NEGATIVE EXPERIENCE AGAIN? Why the hell shouldn't I do what I can to try to avoid the same mess from happening in my future games?

Some of the problem comes from the meme sites, actually.

 

Quite a few of them just don't have a clue how to create good images. It's a matter of finding the right resolution, compression name and formats.

OK, someone please explain what's good about these GIFs. They are repeat over short periods of time which is annoying and usually the pictures have nothing to do with the text, or worse, there is no text and the picture means nothing.

 

Are these usually about some TV shows that most people know and that's why they find them funny? Or what?

if there's a way to do it on safari I don't know it and I wouldn't want to anyway. if I was involved in modding a game or playing one I wouldn't blind myself to the images that replace verbalized thoughts besides.

 

tho I won't read color coded or multi nested quotes or WoTs but that's my own thing.

Yep. That crap is the worst. If/when I actually make them, I'm doing it more as a function of collecting crap for myself to reference later, rather than things I expect someone else  to read and/or respond to.

I in fact pretty much agree with you btw, gifs are awesome and limiting their use because of a small minority of peeps with slow connections just feels... bleurgh.

 

But Basel is a friggin awesome mod and he was only trying his best to be fair to all the players in his game, which is exactly what every mod should always try to do. So hush your mouth Ape.
