Ok, that should be trusted then, unless she is their silver tounge. I'm not gonna discard that possibility yet. We'll take out Wombat today and Dice tomorrow, in the meantime we'll have to look at everyone else left and their connections to Dice and Wombat.

I agree with this.

The lie detector makes sense.  I love me some House, and as he says 'everybody lies.'  But either way, we have several potential mafia in our sights.

Is it really common to have LD and "silver tongue" (I had to mafia wiki that one) on DM? I would describe those as broken roles but I don't wanna get yelled at for being a pain again :P

Anyway; my opinion is Wombat's been fish city since he opened, he's only had one period of noticeably "villagery" posting and then blew it soon after, and when you compare claims and stories AND most importantly threadplay and tone, I would pick BFG as the villager 10/10 times and we should lynch Scumbat today.

LD is fairly uncommon I think, I haven't played long. Really not sure on Silver tongue, I searched for LD in this mafia forum and found a thread of DM member created roles which mentioned silver tongue and rubber tongue. Tbh, LD seems underpowered to me. Quoted above is literally everything in thread that I noted that could be used. It's use now is also only good if people actually state alignment.

I've been a lie detector before, not that long ago, and that game had a silver tongue. It's mentioned enough here on this forum that I think it wouldn't be seen as unusual.

Thing is, Cs and Des are 2 of 4 people that made a LD statement that could be used and were both NK. Against that, TGs statement prodding Des could be taken as a LD query and Des was killed instead, so *shrug*

It's not common but it isn't rare.  Something that you tend to see among newer mods though so it surprises me that Key/Tress have it.  Reason being that it is a totally broken role.

Also, I lied about Dice to see where he would vote and how he would react.  Odd that he joins Wombat here or did he simply leave his vote through the night because he is Aussie?

TBF though it would not have been a lie had Wombat been telling the truth.  Wombat's falsehood changes this.

Oh, Darthe gambit. Fun times shall not be had tomorrow then.

Official Vote Count:

BFG (2) - Wombat, dice

Wombat (7) - BFG, Darthe, Tommy, Mish, TG, Hallia, Lenlo

Not Voting (3) - Peace, Turin, Rags

With 12 alive, it takes 7 to lynch.

That's a lynch!  Scene incoming.

Actually broken or not I need alignment statements from everyone, short sweet and no hyperbole, otherwise the role is worthless.

"I am town" will do

It was honest I just happen to have a role that is very circumstantial.  If Wombat was cop it would have changed things but since Wombat likely submitted an NK instead I think this clears dice as town.  We will know more with the flip.

King of useless to get from everyone but that is neither here nor there.  Btw the reasons it is broken are because you have to have restrictions on it such as "you can't ask about ____" or it doesn't work thus the moderator creates a situation where they have to respond with an N/A etc.  But then you run into THIS ISSUE which I wrote the article on and will quote part of below.

Since an LD viewing a silvertongue message would always read that the message is true, a way to subvert the practicality of this role is to request players to make statements in the following way:

I am town, I am not anti town. I win with the town. The number of mafia on my team is 1.

Here is why:

For a member of the town, stating that you are town should be enough. However, to state that you're additionally not anti-town in role or practice and that you win with the town should cover any potential variables caused by outlying factors and thus create enough redundancy that it is a guarantee. However, a silvertongue could manage this just as effectively. Thus, by stating that the number of mafia on my team is 1 (something false for a townsmember) the townsmember is lying, but cannot know that. Thus the moderator must state that this is null as a whole statement.

However, a member of the mafia knows how many mafia are on their team. For them, this statement would be false (or true). Likewise, the silvertongue will always make statements that when viewed show as true and thus their statement will return "true".
