So we have wombat claiming cop against BFG and BFG claiming LD against Wombat with an early N1 viewing with Mish's backing. Weeeeeird.

I don't know what that says about BFG's alignement. I can only confirm she got a viewing on N1. She might be mafia and lying about using the viewing to take down Wombat. Or wombat is mafia and lying. I'm trying to formulate what I think is more likely but I've got a migraine and can't think right now.

 

Either way, we can't rush this. We're down to 12 players, that probably means 4 mafia and 8 town, unless there's some third parties around. Two more days of mislynches and we'll be screwed. We've got two and a half days to deadline, I suggest we use that time wisely.

I'm leaning that way too. BFG knows she'd be lynched if she's lying mafia and come out like that. The mafia needs two mislynches to win, if they only needed one I'd be way more doubtful about her. But at the same time; Wombat should also know if he provides a false guilty, he will get strung up tomorrow.

 

Unless they are both mafia and is hoping that the one who doesn't get lynched will get enough town cred to last to endgame. That is also a possibility. So we shouldn't clear the person who doesn't get lynched 100% IMO

Ok this is what I think happened:

 

Wombat is mafia, and fakeclaimed cop, in hope of one of two things happening: A, the real cop came forward to CC. Or B, he escaped the lynch (and hoped a doc would protect him from Des' pretend vig shot).

 

BFG is also mafia. They cooked up this gambit in the QT, counting on one of them would get lynched, and the other would be thought of as confirmed town.

 

 

At least one of them is mafia, that much is clear. I think they knew one of them would be going down. I'm feeling pretty certain both of them are though.

When claims contradict we should be asking one question:

 

Whose threadplay more supports their claim?

My case on Wombat:

 

1. I have a guilty viewing on him and he's just claimed my role.

 

To explain this a little more and why I claimed as I did... I'd been put at L2 within about 6 hours of Wombats 'view', knew I'd be busy at work and wouldn't be able to post, so claimed when I could. I claimed when I had just woken up and was still half asleep. Honestly I didn't want to claim the gift, as I was hoping to use it to clear another Townie, but Wombat hasn't made any statements that would work as LD statements, so I couldn't claim LD and not the gift. Having claimed the gift I then realised that Towns likely response would be to lynch me to 'clear' Wombat. This would be bad, so I claimed LD as well. I also wanted my view on Wombat out there so that if I was lynched, he wouldn't be able to weasel his way out of it claiming 'oops redirected' as he'd also need to explain what messed up my view.

 

2. I know his viewing on me is bogus.

 

3. As of Night 1 I became aware that there were 2 sort of cop variants, Lie Detector and someone who could gift a viewing. I thought it unlikely that there would be a full strength cop and 2 weak variants in play. Even so I decided it would be better to be sure on Wombat than view another player as it was possible that we were cop heavy (and just because Wombat didn't state limitations, doesn't mean he didn't have them) and doc light, in which case claiming would be bad. Turns out this was the wrong call. Also there wasn't actually a point I could counterclaim. Wombat claimed when I was asleep, I wasn't going to counter overnight when I had 2 viewings if I survived to morning and he gave his 'viewing' on me when I was asleep again.

 

4. Calling out Mish makes no sense.

 

5. His immediate claim on me at the start of day is also anti-town (although I'm biased here) as speed 'follow the cop' lynches give no new information, and Wombat's too good a player to not know this.

 

6. Unfortunately I can't go through his posts and go this is scummy and so is this, as I didn't view Wombat as particularly scummy before his claim. Tommy did a good job yesterday and I would have voted Wombat then if I'd been around.

I find it very, very hard to believe that we have a cop, a tracker and a lie detector. Especially since I had two cop views to give away (I gave the other to Des last night).

Tommy, not on purpose. I thought it likely that mafia would have a silver tongue, thus anyone asking for LD statements would be targeted and I wanted to stay hidden as long as possible.

 

The only thing I can point to is around Hallia, I checked her claim Night 1 and started Day 2 with a very soft defence and placed my vote on Dap to try and stop a Hallia train taking off. When I went to bed there was no traction on Wombat, so it was either Hallia or Dap and I had a town result on Hallia.
