With Nolder and TG dead, this becomes new worst post by living player Day 1 - Despot already colored this.

 

I think Despo is overreaching in his comments about Csarmi. While I don't like the timing of Csarmi's character claim, it isn't a cut-and dry scum feeling from him. 

 

That said I don't know how I am going to handle the WoTs this game !

Checking in.  Game isn't even half a day old and already almost 10 pages?  This is gonna be fun :-)

 

Only two things worth commenting on.  CS's play is crap, but I'm leaning town because I've seen it from him before.  The spam is over the top tho.

 

Has Tommy played here before?  Because he and Des are tops on my list for scum.  I agree with Nol that posting spammity spam and lurking are anti-town.  Tommy and Des both seem to be purposely misunderstanding what Nol is saying and painting it as a black or white type thing.  Des at least shouldn't be purposely misunderstanding this as he is a DM vet.

 

Someone that knows TG can color this better, but I will keep my own thoughts for what this spews~

Ehm... show me any game here at DM where scum has started with a claim (lie detector proof) on day 1. And as other have pointed out, Csarmi usually plays more focused when he is scum. 

 

 

Doesn't change the fact that the only people who know who is town is the mafia - obviously town =/= I think is town.

We can lynch whoever replacing in for Nol, when that happens.   Until then, at least from my experience, the Mod will remove all Nol votes and that slot basically doesn't exist until someone fills it. 

 

If Nol is mafia then I'd say Tina is teammate especially given how she mostly ignored everything about Nol which has comprised most of the game.  I'd lynch at least one of those two for info.

 

Unfortunately Tina looks sort of bad again here, as TG does the old townie-getting-lynched-pair-with-scummate trick scummies do so often.

Tom, how do you catch a Cory!scum?

He's hard to read. I usually look for mindmelding. If we disagree on too many things, he could be scum.

He's usually like this, yes. I associate him trolling around with his town game. In the past as scum he tended to be very aggressive and try to be town leader. I expect he is still making reads here, it's just mostly tone based and he doesn't have to do any work since I'm already doing it. Usually if he sees things I don't he will point it out. We work well together and are used to lynching scum on D1. I would fully expect him to just mail it in until Nolder/X flips scum. Basically: this game is too easy so far for him to have to try.

 

 

I'm waiting for more solid contribution from cory beyond the Nol stuff.  I'm wary of scum who hide in plain site by posting without really adding anything/scum hunting.  Cory, any reads to add to the game besides on Nol?

Usually I would not vote people that has just entered the game but unfortunately I have seen Nolder disappear (quit or just become inactive) in situations like this. (Happened in Darthe/Wombat´s 3 in 1 game for example.)

DES remains LOCK CLEAR, as this is not a w-w interaction - sort of clarification-type FOS.

 

Tommy, I think it will be Sunday or possibly even Monday before I get fully engaged. I did just go through the thread and will be putting thoughts together in brief before I go to sleep as I have to work Saturday(an odd occurrence) so need to sleep.

 

 

One person that I think could do with some more investigation are Kronos over the Tina vote. The way he wanted to paint her saying she had Csarmi as obviously town was mafia because only they would KNOW. there has been an immense amount of people proclaiming other people as town for the flimsiest of reasons. I guess calling people LOCK TOWN on D1 is the new black. 

 

Speaking on that I really do not get the entire idea of acting like player X is obvstown and player Y is defmaf based on their first post. At best this only works on newer players as the more experienced will just use your penchant for clearing people in this way and fake the post to look and sound the way you want it to sound. Then you have wolves amongst the sheep. Maybe I am just an old dog that refuses to learn new tricks. 

 

Despo is another one that has my ears up. (surprise) Yes, must be because I think when people do things that are IMO mafia-like they should be called on it. Regardless if they do it "all the time". The terribad Csarmi case. The OMGUSing of both Tina and SP. In one of the replies to SP he says that he isn't getting lynched today or words to that affect. Just because no one else is willing to listen doesn't mean the case isn't valid. I know I have proven that enough lately. Isn't that right Tommy? 

 

I think that someone in the #mindmeld crew is likely sneaky mafia. I am not positive of who as yet. My initial thought was Cory because  he seemed to be in Tommy's hip pocket. Neither have really questioned the other at this point so I still find that suspicious. Over trust between any two people without a valid reason will always get my attention. 

 

Peace said some things that struck me odd. TBH I can't place them ATM. I think I will need to go to sleep. I will try to get more in depth over the weekend. And flesh out more thoughts on other people/things.

I don't know half the people in this game. SP is treating Des like a red-headed stepchild, but really I think they're different characters of his split personality. Monk is competing with csarmi to see who can make the least logical post.  Turin fos'ing Des is a HUGE shocker. 

 

X is a scum-lean cause of Nolder. Cory/Tommy are nul at presentl, but if we start mislynching, it'd be easy to see how, as they're leading everyone around by the nose. AJ has been playing really well as scum lately, so I'm overly suspicious of him. Tina feels scummy. So to summarize- this thread has been flooded with gibberish terms I have no knowledge of and do not feel like looking up. Tina/X are my only two scum reads and I have no thing else constructive to say.

Eh really that's kinda wifom. I've been the first one on a wagon of a fellow scumbuddy many times before. The "I would never do that as mafia" card is pretty overplayed in general.

I don't, not at all. Concession is a pretty lame thing to do to the mod and the other players who want a good game, and it's almost always premature anyways- there's almost no hole big enough for a scum team that at least one of them can't get out of a bit through effort and a bit of luck.

 

Take ASRv.2 for instance. Monk got outed pretty easily early on, and sort of spewed his teammates out in pm's with you and Cory. You seriously could have taken those pm's and lynched out of it alone and won the game for town. Did we concede? Hell no. We bussed the crap out of him, and NK'ed the two most likely to make use of the offthread comm mechanic, and let town forget about that whole affair, and wifomed our way to victory.

 

Come from behind victories are probably the most fun thing in mafia, and that happens fairly often on DM. Sometimes a scum team will be steamrolling town, then they overextend themselves and town doesn't mislynch again. Sometimes town catches a few members of the scum team easily, then is unable to lynch the last one before they win @ endgame. Both of those scenarios happened very recently, and occur fairly often. Conceding before the fat lady has had her chance to croon is both being a poor loser, and being a poor loser before it's actually determined that you'll lose. Double whammy.

Town's in pretty awesome shape btw.

 

D1 lynch actually worked out pretty well, all things considered. It was sort of a blind lynch (X never roleclaimed that I saw) so we're lucky it didn't hit a PR, and we got rid of the wifom of a player subbing out like that when they had the most pressure, so scum can't use that lynch later on (remember how TG wanted to save Nolder's replacement for another day?).

 

N1 NK hit a non-townie, so again, good for town. And as long as we (as in town) keep our traps shut about who the other Survivor might be, mafia will have to worry about not NKing the other Survivor. So to make it clear once moar: NO ONE SHOULD BE ACTIVELY LOOKING FOR THE OTHER SURVIVOR ON THREAD. If you wanna look into the matter on your own just to have that info ready for later, fine. Just don't announce your findings about it on thread.

 

And then D2 we hit a mafia, and a potentially pretty powerful one (Forceblocker could be RB, pretty good role, or likely something cooler having to do with stopping abilities), and we prob have some good links with other players to help find his teammates.

 

Incidentally, Turin comes out bad with every one of these lol.

 

His interaction with the Nol lynch was pretty scummy (bandwagoned onto it, never actively pushed it however), and he distanced from the lynch somewhat by trying to say we shouldn't speedlynch. Plus he fos'd Salami for not hammering, even tho he had just said he didn't want a speedlynch lol.

 

He got way too jumpy over the third party flip and tried distracting town to look for the other survivor instead of continuing to scumhunt.

 

And he also defended TG a good bit today, and seemed reluctant to vote him but showed himself to be online so pretty much had to hammer. Looks like a bushammer vote to me.

 

Anyways, time to start digging.

Playing well is an interesting theory. Did I actually play well? or was that based on expectations? Can you reasonably expect me to play the same way every game? I think not. Well is a relative term.

You played very well in The Walter. I thought for most of the game you played better than me, I can't you've show that. 

 

I bring out the big gunz for coryes games.  Becuz the expectations are low. I want to impress cory.

No real read on Krak. Pral's OP seemed villagery and tone has overall been good. Turin is null but leaning Maf at this point, though I'd give him a few phases cause he looks like he could start doing #werk

Tom - Monk is laffy taffy but look at some of his wordings - classic tight scum!Monk. Claim is solid but town!Monk is more idgaf than this early. Honestly, he seems to be getting MORE villagery.

I can rarely read Des (or anyone else) the first days. A made up case is still a made up case.

I would say yes. In fact - I´ll say yes. Do you think it´s something townies should do? Do you think it proves Des to be town?

 

I wasn't a fan of Tina's posts back here and I'm still not a fan of them now. She's asked Salami why he claimed right away, says Des is scum for fabricating cases... yet aren't those two sentiments (Salami did something scummy, Des did something scummy, therefore Des is scum for attacking Salami) kind of mutually exclusive at that point in time? Unless she thinks Salami hard claiming for no reason is pro-town, which it isn't... she might just assume it's true if she's scum and knows Salami is not scum though. She also showed zero interesting in engaging Nolder or figuring out what's going on there, as I've said before. Could be good old fashioned scum opportunism.

 

I don't have any meta with Kronos, is he just kind of... level one? He has a point that Salami shouldn't be "obvious town" but his posts are all kinds of meh.

 

 

No, I thought it was weird that Cs claimed that early but I believed his reveal. It should have been obvious. Des was scummy for making up a case on someone that I was convinced was town. I wasn´t interested in Nolder until he dropped the game. That is true. 

 

I believe Csarmi's claim as well due to the book itself.

Wow, there's a lot. Here's how I see it:

-Turin displays TMI by saying Des is pushing "mislynches" and hard clearing Tina

-His slip in vote when the Nolder wagon was taking off is laughable

-That FOS on Salami for not hammering seems really random and just an easy soft push or soft distance. Not a townish statement in any case given the lack of context

-Third party hunting before we even have a scum flip. "We really do need to eliminate the survivors" is a ridiculous statement to make on DAY TWO. Him role hunting in thread like the Mira Jane comment is terribad.

I'm not calling your use of words vague, I'm saying that your play is misdirecting. Intent to hammer on a train that's obviously going to lynch isn't as concrete as an actual hammer, and anyone can jump on the tail end of an obvious lynch, that doesn't provide actual information about how you felt either way.

Darthe was also amazingly off-topic, but at least he buddied me instead of tunneling on me. I would betcha ten shekels that Darthe was a survivor and Krak is just tunneling on someone he knows won't be lynched so he doesn't bother the mafia and get NKed.
