So far i see that Nolder has been trying to figure out everyones alliances..... and voting and unvoting rapidly to do that too.... so i am getting a towny vibe from him....

after going through the post again... for me Goldeneyes look most suspicious since the two times he voted he voted for the peace and dap when others were out to put them to the chopping block.... to me it seems like a way to vote out a towny as soon as possible and move to the night mode....

so

unvote

vote Goldeneyes

Mish and me have done good so far avoiding conflicts... which could mean either of the two extremes a very veryyy innocent and vanilla towny or a supper evil scum.

6 people (goldeneyes, ishy, theodora, nolder, despo and peace) have voted for Dap at one point or the other that is almost a majority.... considering day 1 and townys votes distributed almost uniformly.... i suspect 2 if not all three scums in this list.... (i am assuming 2 scums and one godfather, or will we not have a godfather in this game??)

To be clear, I have voted for Nolder and then Dap, not peace. I was the first to vote for Nolder and I voted for Dap fourth, which is not exactly jumping on the tail end of a train. I'd suggest you pay more attention to the game. Perhaps another read through would help. I do find it interesting you barely post and then come out of nowhere to vote for me. Makes me wonder who you are protecting.

That last comment is really bizarre.

So you think Dap is likely Town?  Why?

there is no one to protect by giving you a single and only vote as of now...... with all the things going on i do feel like you jumped to vote for Dap... 4th vote may not be the tail end of the train but you did jump without giving a reason to the person with the highest number of vote counts... at this point in day one figuring out things on vote count may be a bit extreme but thats what i have to go by.

Alrighty then. Here we go.

I voted Ishy because he was the only one I knew from other interaction and knew that he was quite good in Mafia, but yet I did not witness his style. I did not want to say BFG or Dap are worse players,or less experienced, I just haven't had a chance to meet you, guys. It was an initial vote which I was going to change, once I got some reaction from Ishy which was my vote's intention. I suspected Dap because of the spam thing in the beginning and I just played consequently - Ishy arrived and I changed my vote immediately to the person I already pointed out that he seems scummy to me. Train or no train. 1. I am vanilla and my point is toeliminate scum.

About intuition - people have styles/strategies in this game. I trust my intuition, so it takes some part of my decisions, like it or not.

I suspect Despo is town as well after this weird move, 2. or he is part of a huge brilliant mobster plot, too big to be suspcted by the likes of me.

Two things in this post I have a problem with:

1. Completely unnecessary claim

2. Really don't like the overstated modesty at the end there. Def seems like she could be overplaying the confuzzled townie angle.

Guys, I'll need some help, please - if the Mafia game is based on a real series like this one. Does our alignment has something to do with our character's faith? I was a bit intrigued by what AJ said - look at the name of the day "...Fear the living". And I know what happens to Andrea (Despo's claimed char), not to spoil anyone's pleasure of the series but she well...you know.

Well unless our mod took liberties he shouldn't have with a Basic game we probably don't have to worry about character effecting anything beyond living=town zombie=mafia.

In an Advanced game you could suppose that Andrea might be some kind of symp for say the Governor or something but in a Basic game that's not likely to be the case.

Obviously there have been enough human characters in TWD to cover then mafia for any fake claims they might make.

In fact it's possible our mod gave them some. Personally I like seeing mafia getting creative and getting caught in lies but a lot of people do give mafia valid fake claims.

So TL;DR I wouldn't worry much about character claims one way or another.

Why do people think the zombies are mafia in this game? Walkers are pretty much a part of the environment in this world, there's no unique zombies or ones that are central to the plot or anything. I know I got roled with a character, assuming most others did as well. You really think all the town have named characters, whereas the mafia is Walker #1, Walker #2, etc.?

That seems extremely far fetched to me, especially considering that the series has some living antagonists that would be perfect for the mafia team.

Governor, Merle, and Caesar anyone? To me, they'd be the obvious picks for scum. Maybe Shane instead of Caesar, or that early gangster dude possibly (unlikely, but still).

Just to be perfectly clear however, in no way am I suggesting a mass claim or that we should focus on character claims. As Mish said recently, I'd rather play a beautiful game. Relying on character claims to find scum is mafia for preschoolers.

Also, another side note: I saw a couple of people throw the Symp thing out for Andrea, but then dismiss it on the grounds that it's basic. I know I'm not a Symp (and imo she'd be a better candidate for town spy, but meh), but why is a Symp considered impossible in a Basic setup? I've seen Millers in basic games, and recently Lovers in one as well. I'm sure that there have been even more slightly non-traditional roles in basic games as well.

Why so quick to jump to the assumption that a Symp wouldn't be in the game?

Meh. Lazy trains FTL. Last time I cover this- I unvoted because I saw the VC and didn't like the last two votes on Dap's train (GoldenEye's, Theo), and didn't want day 1 to go too fast.

I'm vanilla, and Andrea, which is also my least favorite walking dead character so at least she'll die first. My top reads for scum are Lenlo, BFG, GoldenEye's, and Leelou.

Your top reads are 1/3 of the town? Total sour grapes post, you're annoyed your big move failed. How did I change from a Perrin nickname to James Bond?

UnvoteVote Dap

It appears golden is reacting to the BFG accusation. However, when confronted he instead gives this reason

UnvoteVote Dap

why...? Attaching reasons to votes is a very good thing.

I went back and reread the thread a few times. I'm not convinced my original vote isn't scum, but at this point I feel similarly about several people in this game. There's not really enough out there to make an informed decision. I changed my vote to see if it elicited a response that gives me more information.

Basically he doesn't have reads and I'm under pressure. Sheeping at its finest

True. The questions to ask are "did anything happen after a train formed on Dap?" Oh wait, yeah two pages of discussion. "Did someone make a move that might tip their hand?" Hard to be certain, but Des made what appears to be a scum move.

I'm not saying my vote prompted all of this. I'm just saying sheeping is a perfectly valid move if you're looking for information.

So..Despo votes Dap, then unvotes Dap after others jump on board.

Then people vote Despo because he looks like he is derailing a train from his scum mate.

But if these people think Despo and Dap are as scum team...why not keep on Dap which is the stronger train at the time?

Something is going on here.

Desp claims Andrea?  If this wasn't a basic game I say that she would be a symp character.

This ^^. I

f Desp is scum, it was a terrible transparent move. Then the logical thing in my mind would be to thwart his move, take out the person he is protecting and then take him out.

If he is town flailing about, I still think it's interesting that Dap chooses to defend his unvote because "it's too obvious."

I fail to see how jumping from one train to the next accomplishes anything? My vote stays on Dap at present.

Wowwwww DEF scum here. Where do I begin.

First of all, I'm POSITIVE Perrin here is being coached. I haven't seen anyone else use the word "flail" yet in the game before him, and besides the fact that I don't think I was flailing at all, how would Perrin learn to use such a concept so quickly without ever being told about it? Unless of course, he WAS told, on his team's QT.

There's also a scumslip in the first part, where he says I name 1/3 of the town in my reads. Even if this wasn't a true slip, but that he meant to say game instead of town, why try and fos me for having 4 reads as scum? I obviously didn't think each one of my reads was concrete, so why not include other people I've had bad feelings about, instead of just naming a couple of people I was already focusing on?

He also admits outright to sheeping... then tries to pass off sheeping as a protown move, that it somehow gets info. Sheeping is actually a way of PREVENTING town from getting info, not getting more. When you sheep, you bandwagon without giving solid reasoning that you can be held accountable for later. Furthermore, you give scum the opportunity to sheep as well without risking much, since there are already sheep on the train. There's no way you can convince me sheeping is a good move, and trying to take credit for the flurry of activity afterwards is also a newb scum move.

He also says that he doesn't see how jumping from one train to the next accomplishes anything- and remember, scum are always more likely to park their vote somewhere instead of move it. Town can only go by their reads, so as their reads change, their vote can as well. Instead, Goldeneyes has kept his sheep vote parked on Dap for a while now, and tries to link anyone he can to Dap as well (first me, then Nol, and saw him do it to someone else too).

Unvote, Vote Goldeneyes

Peace I don't know if you're working or sleeping or what but I wasn't messing around I want more than a summary of what has occurred from you.

Deadline is tomorrow and I'm not letting you slip by without taking any kind of a stand on something.

Unvote

Vote Peace

I find it interesting that Nolder has now taken votes off of the two people most under scrutiny. If it turns out that Dap, Des and Nolder are all mafia at the end of this, I'll be impressed at the little game of musical chairs you just played. Not saying you're scum. I just find the move interesting.

Here's where he links me, Dap, and Nol. Completely missing the fact that all of that depends on Dap being mafia in the first place (personally I have a town read on him now due to the bandwagon votes on him yesterday as well as his catchup wot, he tends to overexplain a bit during his wot's as scum).

And yet, Goldeneyes also didn't seem to care much about Dap's more recent posts, which imo have looked very townie. He wants to stick to his read, perhaps was coached not to backtrack away from it too quickly, and focuses more on linking others to Dap instead of making any actual arguments for WHY he thinks Dap is scum. Seriously, look through his posts. He's never really stated WHY he voted Dap, just that he had a scum read on him.

So we once again see the trend of the actives going after each other while the inactives skate by. Lame.

Unvote. Vote Mish.

Going for inactives on day 1 is a fool's errand. Less info, risk of hitting a town PR trying to lurk to stay alive, and you might as well be rolling dice to see which inactive you lynch. I don't play mafia to try and hit scum by chance, I want to uncover and expose their plans and find them that way.

If it was so staged how come the only people left on my train are the new people? Surely the new would be the most susceptible to a play and unvote?

I presume that's because, regardless of my being a new player, I have the ability to think logically. The move is quite obvious.

Spoken like someone truly being coached. He even tries making an excuse for his seemingly advanced grasp on the game for a first-timer.

Other stuff- Not really feeling the Peace train. He tends to be more confrontational as town, posts more snippets as scum. More than that tho, a couple of people that voted him this game either gave no reason or had kind of a weak one (Nolder's vote on him seemed to have the most reasoning, and even it seemed like it was designed more to try and get Peace talking than anything.

I will say that I like what Dap found, about Leelou talking about going for inactives and mentioning Peace, but then voting Pray instead. There could be something there, and Leelou's reaction to Dap's posts didn't sit right with me.

Got a town read on Dap, and a fairly strong town read on Nol. Scum reads on Goldeneyes, Theo, Leelou, and BFG.

And I've prob been ninja'd by a lot so let's see...

Posted

Play in less games at once and then maybe you'll have time lamers.

Anyway I don't really have anything new to add.

I'm happy with my vote on Peace as his non participation and then defense of it was all kinds of scummy.

I also don't like the way him and Player have crossed. Could just be self preservation but tbh I'm happy with a lynch on either one.

... seriously? I had about 15 mins before we started audit, whether I was in 3 games or only one I still wouldn't have had time to catch up. Quit the gestapo bs.

And what's with the self-preservation line, btw? You know who really cares about self-preservation? Scum.

Still got a town read on you, but I'd like an explanation for that line there.

So Des's unvote before any response from Dap is still odd, his backtracking on the reasoning for the unvote is also odd, although I can agree with discussion being good for Town (his second given reason).  His not voting immediately for someone else seems strange as well from him.  His claim at L-4 again is odd and the character claimed seems to be controversial, although I'm not sure if this makes it more likely to be a true Town claim or a fake mafia (or indeed a real claim as mafia if the mafia are people who get bitten throughout the series) claim, given her status at the end of Series 3.

There's also his reaction - when nobodies voting Lenlo he's perfectly happy to try and push a fast lynch, but also prods Leelou, Mish & Peace.  When unvoting he says he's already suspicious of Dora, but hadn't mentioned her yet on thread (although at this stage everyone should be suspicious of everyone, so that's not necessarily strange).  There's also a couple of minor AtE's, one could be genuine, referring to the Weasley game, the other (when claiming), not so much.

In all it seems to be a strange play, trying to apply ockams razor seems to leave either that Des is Town and made an unusually bad play, That Des is mafia and thought that unvoting from Dap given how long there was to deadline would make him 'look' better, or that both Dap & Des are mafia but that Dap is 'worth' more?  So it seems that applying Ockhams razor doesn't help much.

There's more stuff that I haven't mentioned yet, but for the moment I'm happy with my vote, a coherent thought process will have to wait until I reread, I don't currently understand much of the past 2 pages or so.

Even tho I think BFG is tunnelling me here, I actually like this post somewhat. She's weighing diff angles, instead of only pushing ones which make me look bad.

Btw, I didn't vote anyone immediately because I wanted to see if Theo or Goldeneyes would unvote after seeing me mention scum speedhammering. Figured that with both of them new, if they were scum they'd prob be quick to startle. Didn't like either of their votes on Dap.

Mish and me have done good so far avoiding conflicts... which could mean either of the two extremes a very veryyy innocent and vanilla towny or a supper evil scum.

WHat's this about, mate?

6 people (goldeneyes, ishy, theodora, nolder, despo and peace) have voted for Dap at one point or the other that is almost a majority.... considering day 1 and townys votes distributed almost uniformly.... i suspect 2 if not all three scums in this list.... (i am assuming 2 scums and one godfather, or will we not have a godfather in this game??)

We don't know atm whether or not a GF (godfather) is in the game or not, but they do tend to be fairly common in basic games. In almost every basic game I've seen on this board, the mafia team had either a GF or a Roleblocker.

I'm almost positive you voted later than that in the train. Are you going by recent VC's (your teammates should be able to let you know what that means if you don't already)? Cause I voted Dap before you and then removed my vote. Pretty sure you voted Dap 5th. I could be wrong tho, this is a pretty small game. Gonna go backand check.

Also, pretty defensive tone here in this post. All from one measly vote?

as i said considering day 1, i would assume votes to be a little more evenly divided.... there have been too many people gunning for one person... and i did not find anything dap said for the votes to be concentrated so much.

thats y i think dap is more likely to be a towny........ the operative word here is ''more likely''

i agree... and if Goldeneyes is a walker then theodora and BFG are most likely his (infected) accomplices

I see Des isn't giving the new guy a Day 1 pass.

unofficial vote count

Dap (3) - Goldeneyes, Theodora, Peace
Peace (2) - Nolder, Dap
Despo (2) - BFG, Leelou

Goldeneyes (2) - Err, Des

BFG (1) -  Pral

Mish (1) - Ishy

Not Voting: Lenlo, Mish

With 13 alive it takes 7 to lynch.

Did you not read what I said about the walkers? I highly doubt they're the scum team. Thread says to fear the living, I know I have a named character so it seems silly to have Walker #X named scum.

Plus, you really think the Governor or Merle would be town? Or Caesar or Shane, for that matter?

I'm here catching up. I had visitors all day yesterday so I couldn't get online, just two minutes to send in an NA and throw in one post in the Wesley game, wich was at a much more critical stage. Thoughts in a few.

Des has already pointed out this, but I feel the need to point it out again, because wow. Seriously Gold, how do you know they are town, hm? Unless you are mafia, you have no way of knowing anyone's alignement but your own. Lucky for you about the newbie D1 pass. This is where I'm itching to place my vote.

Gives me a good, solid town feel on him.

Ugh I gotta reread the thread, I can't remember how the trains on Peace and Dap originally formed. All I can remember specifically from Dap was some very jokey comments to Ishy, and Peace having very few posts. Deadline in 14 hours, I'll be back within three hours at the latest with a proper readthrough and notes.

Lenlo and Mish:   with 20 hours remaining to the deadline, you guys cant afford to be neutral at this point....

Just woke up, but I need to tell you im a strong independent white man and I can do what I want. Mhmmmm.

Seriously though your right, not voting at this point is just wasting the one thing we can do other than talk. Vote Despo I dont like how hes been acting so far and I still think his calling me obvious scum and fosing anyone that didnt join that initial push on me is incredibly suspect. He has also been jumping around like a rabbit from one person to the next all day.
