nice!  I got to down the new VoA boss last night in 25player and i got a new belt off him.

 

when do you guys hang out on skype?

Hey how do i get that random dungeon achievement and title?  It says random with 50 people and I know I have done that.  I am now assuming it means heroric dungeons.

My main is Justen. A level 80 Pally.

 

I also have a vast assortment of level 60 pluses,  (you can get level 60 in about 14 hours with triple xp and some dungeon runs from folk)

 

I also have a level 60 pally and a rogue on the Horde side of the server Shattered Halls I might PvP with.  Rocking battlegrounds with the Alliance on any server can get a might frustrating as the Alliance universally sucks balls.

 

I'm not on that much anymore, since I stopped raiding because being a WoW raider takes up too much of my day.

The Love Is In The Air!!  Can you feel it?

 

There's love boats cruising along the water ways of Stormwind, Darnassus and Undercity.

 

And a bunch of quests and goodies to have fun with.

I started doing those quests but they take so long....

 

Claire has moved her main over Senjin.  Therefore FDM, Claire and I ran a dungeon on Friday night.  It was quite fun except in Violet Hold we had a Guide that was giving us orders (shadow priest btw).  FDM was tanking with Pally, I was DPSing with DK and Claire was healing with Pally. 

 

Guide: "Fluffy, get out of Frost Presense"

Me:  "Naw"

Guide: "Sigh, Death Knights"

Me: "Sigh, Shadow Priests"

 

FDM told her to stfu because we knew what we were doing.  Of course I would not be in Frost Presense if I hadn't talked to the tank before.  I know it takes threat away from the tank.  The Guide also complained about about FDM's tanking at one point.  Basically I told her to stop crying because we were doing fine and she could complain if we wiped... which I thought would never happen....

 

Then we did... on the last boss.  I actually think the Shadow Priest TRIED to get us to wipe, as she was first to die.  Excuse me, but if I were a shadow priest and I saw a potentional problem, I would get out of my shadow form and... you know... help heal... instead of doing what little damage a shadow priest can do.  Anyway we wiped and you know she had to talk her smack.  So we told her to leave... as she is dps and they are a dime a dozen in dungeon queue.  She did.  We had to re-run Violet Hold which was cake (and also more xp).  I think for now on I will tank Violet Hold instead of FDM though as I don't need to recharge mana between the fights.

 

I have my Priest up to 52.  I am very 20% away from dinging 78 with my DK.

 

I re-speced my Pally for protection and ran three dungeons as a tank.  It was a bit nerve racking but after healing tanks for so long I get the picture.

 

Oh I also downloaded Recount and Grid add ons.  Now I can keep track of dps rankings.  Grid is taking some time to get used to but I can see how it is useful.

what do you mean the quests take too long?  pishaw!

 

as for frost dps?  i'm not getting into that.  that was designed to be the tanking spec that much i do know.  don't know how well it works for dps.

No, the Shammy is up to 61 now.  The DK is at 60, but he's getting shelfed as I've reinstated the Shammy as my main.

 

I have a close RL friend that is playing for perhaps a couple more months (my RAF buddy), so I'm going to level a bit in his guild, and then come back to Shayol Ghul and have some raiding fun at 80 with you guys.  But I'm always in the DM chat, so hit me up and we'll quest.  The Shaman is currently DPS only, but once I've saved up and bought flight training and a mount, I'll be saving up for dual spec.

Sorry canuk, I got you confused.  My DK is currently Unholy specced.  Everything I read says Frost is the way to go for tanking, but really it doesn't matter all that much.  So I stuck with Unholy.  Frost Pressense is just a aura I turn on to increase my armor.  I usually slip into Blood when I am dpsing as to not take threat away from tank.

Yeah, that SP was a real b!tch. You know that someone is attempting a party wipe, when they manage to use up all their mana if the first 20 seconds of fighting and then immediately die.

 

There are some dungeons I really enjoy tanking. Utgarde, Azjol, and one other one...but I hate the Citadel. There is just no time for me to maintain a decent mana pool, and pally tanking sucks up so much mana with my spells. I'm in a frenzied panic the whole time. I'll be much perkier when I'm relegated back to being Ret and you taking, Emp. Besides, I think I might out DPS you sometimes... ;)

 

Still refusing to level any jobs until I get my pally to 80. Then I don't know I'm going to do.

Luckily I still have my healer to level or I would be in the same boat as you FDM.  We really need more high level people in the guilds.  I would love to be able to schedule 10 mans.

I'm doing another trial as Naeann (just for you Emp :-*)  I saw a few of you on yesterday and logged in and out so you'd see but no one talked... *shrugs*  Verb will be happy to know it's a gnome.  *hides from Cat*  I'm trying rogue and I don't know if I like it.  I can't tell if it's the gnome I don't like or the rogue.  I do like my magic instead of having to be right on top of the critters to aggro them.

I remember back in EQ, they had these things called, Epic Weapons. You could only obtain them through a massive Quest, and it was far harder than any raid-drops. And better than them.

 

For My class, Just to 'start' the quest, I had to do a Pre-Quest.

Find 4 of the rarest dropping items in the game.

 

One of those Rare-Items, dropped off of a Rare Spawn, and it was a Rare Drop.

To put it simply, I'd clear out an entire wing of a dungeon (solo) wait 10 minutes for them to respawn, then do it again praying for this 1 mob, to re-spawn as this 'rare spawn'.

I musta killed this spawn roughly 600 times.

I was there for over 2 months farming this area 3 hours daily, I'd have went longer but funny thing about EQ, it takes roughly 1-4 hours to find a grinding group.

 

After I defeated that creature the last time and got the item I needed, I finally started the actual quest for my Epic Weapon.

 

Back when this quest was first released, you had to kill, 1 raid boss for each 'part' of the quest, And there were 4 parts, thus 4 raid Bosses.

Now, by the time I got to start my Epic-Quest, all those raid bosses were 'old school'. It be akin to killing those guys in that mountain in WoW, cause no one even touches onyxia or any of that other fluff anymore where you actually needed to be keyed. You don't anymore. Specailly since the green gear that drops in northrend > the gear that drops off of T3 raid bosses in vanilla wow.

Anyways, the point of this is, it takes at least 40 people of my level to take down these raid bosses, or about 5 people of max-level to kill them.

Problem? No one wants to.

3 years Later, several updates, creature re-balances, I was able to solo the last 3 bosses and got my epic.

 

 

No Quest in WoW is longer than the quests in EQ. Had I had help, that quest alone would have taken me 6 months to complete, Longer had I been in a guild and everyone wanted to obtain there Epics. Specially considering those bosses, Are on a DAILY re-spawn cycle, In an OPEN AREA. (Aka think rare-creature in say, Barrens. That takes 20 people to kill, and spawns only once daily.)

oh gawds yes.  i had to quit eq when i (human monk) was at the part in my quest that i had to go steal something off of Cazic Thule.  I had done all the iksar monk sash/weapon quests up to that part.  had to get guildies to help me find an unbroken gorilla mandilbe and i had to ask them not to use any blunt weapons at i was told that would result in the mob droping broken mandables.  

I stayed up for 22hrs straight with a fellow human monk camping the rare monk spawn in Lower Guk.  She got the first one and stayed around to help me get the second.  we took a 2hr nap and went back to it.  it was brutal.  

 

by the way, you had to search for quests and use a specific sentence order and wording to trigger the quest responses from npc's.  i was soo happy when they put the key words in the npc's dialogue in [ ].

I'm leveling my herbalism right now just so I can afford dual spec and flight, and then making the push to 70 and get into Northrend.  I like Outlands so far, though, so I'm having fun.

 

But once I'm near 80, my ass is back in SG and we're scheduling some raids.  I'm not sure what I'm looking forward to more - raiding and seeing the content, or listening to you peeps on Skype, lol.

Course I love it when you enter that phrase and find out, it won't work unless you did a previous quest, or a keyquest of something unrelated. ;)

I didn't have much trouble with that stuff though, it was almost always the same phrasing.

Course now all you have to do is type the [word].
