Town had absolutely no chance in this game.

Well call me biased as well but I do not agree with this statement. Town had it rough but I don't believe for one second they had no chance to win an am a bit insulted by the implication. It may have been a mafia sided setup due to the variables but saying Town had no chance at all is pure exaggeration. Verbal and Yates were in the hot seat multiple times and came very close to being lynched. Cloud had also been spotted by GF and a couple others more than once as well. Town was always a minute late and a dollar short but they came close to wiping out the entire mafia team right away.

I think that's more an indication of mafia playing very obviously scummy moreso than it is an indication of the game's balance. DPR and Verb both exposed themselves greatly, and Yates did so to a lesser extent. Cloud linked himself very obv to his scummates.

 

The point is, town should be able to mislynch more than once without losing the game. For town to have won we would have had to practically steamroll the mafia.

But I will say Not that town should have caught on to the poll choices earlier in the game, might've helped counter the huge mafia advantage a bit.

 

I still think the polls made the game extremely swingy (let town get into a critical fail roll), and after seeing the final arrangement, you could have limited mafia's numbers by 1 and it would have been a lot closer I think. At the end of the day you still had full power and privilege to tweak things to address the balance issues before the game started.

Eh that was never the plan really. It was more of an option and I eventually decided it was better for everyone if I went through the queue.

The only plan that I've deviated from has been to try to keep the same people for all the games. I'm no longer concerned about that as much.

You got me tho. I really was destroying you in the actual arguments, but you succeeded in getting me emotional. I won the battle, you won the war so to speak. I even knew you were trying to get under my skin, what with the Mr. Parrot comments (that was total bs btw lol), and I still let it happen.

Yeah I just don't think that would have been possible to do for over a dozen games. Even if I kept the 24 hour deadline thing I'm pretty sure it'd take about a year to play all these games. Things come up, people get busy or lose internet connection or whatever. No way to keep all the same people for every game.

 

And speaking of people in games, most of the games cannot be modified for balance reasons. Meaning I can't take any number of people just because a lot of you want to play. Believe me I wish I could. Next game will be 14 people and 14 people only. I'll announce when sign ups start ahead of time so people can make a point of being around if they'd like to sign up and it'll be first come first serve. I think there may be a couple where I could modify the game based on the number of people that want to join. When those come up I'll announce that.

Nol..in retrospect I really liked what you did here.  Well, first I'll say that it was pretty unbalanced.  But, forget that.  You introduced some ideas that can be tweaked nicely.  If you take what you learned here..I think you can come up with the perfect game.  I really liked the premise. 

 

And..as much as we all bitched about 24 hour days...actively was better this game than normal ones.  I would definitely let people know in sign ups that its a 24 hour game though...so they can plan accordingly.
