DPR, you think I'm whiny because of two things: I still hold a grudge for you for somehow having it so that I died when I targeted a Hider who was hiding with a Mirror in the Spider Country game (yeah, that was stupid. I hold grudges. Get over it), and because I talk crap about JN mafia. You know why I talk crap about JN mafia? Mostly because everyone there likes playing like how you and Ape play: a big chest-beating contest where Epeen measuring and cockadoodle preening are the norm. The other big reason is that I'm tired of people coming over from that site and disparaging how mafia is played here. I happen to prefer how mafia is played here. It's much more civil, and the discourse is much more respectful and there is room for many more different playstyles.

 

If you don't like that, fine. But quit coming over here and whining about how DM mafia is played, and I'll quit "whining" about you coming off as an arrogant jerk.

Not to barge into the middle of the game, I've been trying to keep a hands off approach thus far, but that's just not true.

Those players exist on JN yes. Some of those same people actually put out really well thought out cases when they feel like it. Aside from them though there are several players who I'd consider the "quiet" type. Leelou and Lily come to mind here. And there is, or used to be, several players who would post wall of text after wall of text analyzing the game deeply and everyone's motives and such without the bluster and bullying that say Ape would also bring to the table while doing the same thing. Your biggest complaint about JN is the rudeness with which the people treat each other right? I'm sorry but thus far in this game you haven't shown me that rudeness is something you find unlikable or offlimits.

 

You're accusing DPR of having an undeserved reputation but that's really not fair to say. His reputation stems mostly from modding first of all and secondly even though he's held in high regard I believe it's mostly due to him being enjoyable to have in a game rather than his gameplay necessarily. Forgive those of us who think so but we find him funny. And even so that didn't stop us from lynching him on day 1 on JN in the game before the most recent one. So trash talking JN and DPR like he's hero worshiped over there is just plain false. Call this meddling in the game if you want but I'm going to have to ask you to please keep your concerns centered on this game on this website. Feel free to use meta in your cases of course but making personal insults such as "strutting and swaggering like you do on JN" isn't going to go over well for you or your team if you continue. You want games on DM to be civil and respectful? Then let's keep it that way. That goes for anyone else as well. I don't mind insults really, but keep them light and use them sparingly please. I want this game to be fun not frustrating.

Crusher isn't rude unless you're a big jerk to him. In fact he's constantly making fun of himself.

Hess isn't rude really, although he'll throw out a few insults of Ape or someone riles him up.

Verbal isn't really rude either, although he'll go back and forth with Wombat and Ape.

I could go on but the point is they are all friends, some of them IRL. 

You might think it goes too far but you don't get to decide when someone else is offended. 

 

You're right they are a bit sexist over there but not in the way you think. I once said "Bitches and whores!" as an exclamation such as "damn it!" and the game in general flipped out on me thinking I was talking about the last few people who voted me who happened to be girls and there was a huge blowup between me and Crusher which eventually got worked out. You might think the guys are sexist because one or two of them use over the top pick up lines and say hey send me your pics but what you don't know is most of them are in committed relationships and it's just a routine to use as an ice breaker as well as an opportunity to razz on and one up each other. Again this goes back to you not getting to decide when other people are offended. 

 

As for this game. I don't care who "started it", I already said let's keep the insults light and used sparingly and I plan on enforcing that on everyone from this point on. You may not have been the first to sling an insult but I intend for you to be the last. As someone who has more than once said you favor respectful gameplay to rudeness I would think this is something you would consider an improvement.

 

And on my modding. You were told last year and many times since that these games would be unconventional and possibly unbalanced.

I tried my very best to make them fun and make that clear. You joined anyway and now because something isn't to your liking you're going to trash my setup, me, and just walk away from the other players in this game? All without knowing exactly what my setup is or why I've made the decisions I've made?

 

If you want to be leave the game I'm obviously not going to try to force you to stay but before you resign maybe you should take a bit and think about how rude that would be not only to me but to everyone else in the game. Note that if I can't find a (quick) replacement for you you're going to have to be modkilled. I think that would effect the games balance for more than any decision I've made thus far. Not that it would be your problem anymore.

Tina quickly jumps on (mafia meta for her. She loves to get in on things early as mafia and try to avoid notice for the rest of the day. I swear it always gets her noticed though lol)

 

@NOLDER, Try georgia font. Is nice.

 

Des train is boring, I don't see it as a scumtell because he is always digging like that.

Quoted so I can comment on the font. When you use coded fonts for VC most people do a code per line rather than the whole post and for people like me that quote everything in code form its a real mess. AHs VCs in the Pokemon game take me longer to clean up to read than a page of a case. It's just a nightmare

 

Krak comes in with some nice stuff. However I don't see Tina submitting to authority in the mafia with that vote. She just liked to be in early and then hide

 

WKB asks why Tina went des over the other two. It could be one of the others are on her team

Cut back to Tina and Kronos. She's reacting much the same way she did in the Pokemon game when you steeped darthes cop claim on D1. She votes blindly, gets prickly when called out about it and tries to throw it elsewhere.

I actually gotta agree with DPR on this one... But that is mostly because I find night talk to be very interesting as town; it shows who's around. It's nothing to solely base a case on, but I gotta admit that when someone I already feel suspicious about is online at night, it makes me pursue them a bit harder.

Plus you don't have to post on a thread at night and you can be in hidden mode on DM and then read along and submit actions on a QT. No need to be seen at all

Furthermore I think it was the Indy game. The town one D1 revealed a bunch of crap and we used that against them to sow chaos. (I think you were on my team that game)

So yea Night talk can be silly. It also promotes people waiting until the end to submit actions and therefore we get longer nights

 

As for DPRs slip caught so by wombat. I don't see much in it. Isn't that a new paragraph as well? Not a single sentence

Knowing that DPR's claim was a role and not a character, it seems like waaaay too convenient a claim. Of course he would claim something that would make townies extremely wary of lynching. I claimed a similar type bizarro role in a game a long time ago, saved my bacon then (I called it Glorious Martyr or some crap like that, if NK'ed it skips the next night phase, if lynched it skips the next day phase. Can't wait till I can mod a game where I put that role in for realz).

 

Mish and Tina not hammering deserves an fos. With how short the day phases are, it's not like we were really risking much... I'll be surprised if the amount of lynches exceeds the amount of no lynches in this game.

 

My best guess for scum atm is DPR, Tina, Cloud, Darthe, and BG.

Read the game again, all in one go this time. Last Day I kept checking the game on my phone when I was out, so I wasn't as concentrated as I usually am and ended up mixing things up terribly. I confused posts between players and all my reads were way off. So yeah, in hindsight, I should've hammered DPR. Let's make up for that today.

Somebody please tell me that when they read the above post, the idea of a plant did occur to them? When I flip town, please lynch this scum.
