Still trying to work out some discrepancies.   Mish stated that Krak never gave his statement.  Went back to check and that is true..so that makes sense with what she is saying.  It also supports the notion that Krak is scum..but not the ST if they have one.  Otherwise he would have volunteered it quickly.

 

 

Krak didn't give me anything to check; he didn't join the "I'm town"-chorus. No, I don't think he is the ST. But I think the mafia has one, and so they all know I existed, and were trying to root me out and/or distract me. Krak couldn't know that I was the LD when he started pushing on me yesterday, but to me it seemed pretty clear he wanted to distract the LD to check me instead of one of his mafia buddies.

No, I think you did it for other reasons.Maybe you were worried about a lie detector in the game and didn't want to flat out say you weren't mafia.  You knew Kaylee wasn't mafia since you were, so you went with the best you could, making two true statements, one of which barely skirted the truth but technically wasn't a lie.

The initial post that started all this.  Strange that he brought up a lie detector.  Strange he pushed this weak angle to begin with.  It's like he was looking for a way to get the LD mentioned in thread.

This is a really good point. I'd say if there is a ST then they would've been pretty eager to say the statement. The other scum would be much more hesitant to say it. I think we should put some pressure on those that haven't.

Pete and Lily were right.  Town traitor, survivor, town compulsive vig, people with personal win conditions etc. can all skirt a basic "I am town statement" but not a combination of "I am town, I am not anti-town, I win with the town."  Further, I am town, not antitown doesn't work on its own because Anti-town is perspective in cases such as that.  It is clearer and more effective for someone to make the entire statement.  Not likely to catch anyone, but possible.

Idk wtf a town traitor is. If you mean the role commonly referred to as symp or traitor, then that is not a town role. Survivors are also not town. Town compulsive vig is town and still has a town win condition. If you don't win with the town, you aren't town. That includes survivors, lynchers, jesters, etc.

I have seen a town survivor, and a town traitor is a member of the town that counts as town etc and isn't a symp but helps the mafia win.  

 

Btw, I think I just found a way to get around silvertongues..

 

What would happen if instaed of saying the im town im not anti-town etc etc someone added in:

 

There are this many mafia in the game ___

 

 

To anyone who was town it would be null, but to anyone mafia it would return as a true and to a silvertongue it would even if the number was inaccurate.

 

This requires that the town knows the number of mafia in the game or has a good estimate, but I think that it is worth consideration because that is not too difficult a thing to estimate.

Darthe now you're overcomplicating things. I'm gonna ask that nobody does that. I'm not supposed to do all the work for town you know.

Actually, the statement I mde about having to know the number of mafia isn't true.  Town can't know so they will return as null (technically anything not mafia will), but mafia knows the number so even if they state that it is 6 or 7 when it is really 5 or 4 it will return as a false, and for a silvertongue it will return as true.

A "town survivor" is not a survivor, it's a townie who has an additional constraint (survival).

 

And if it counts as town for the numbers but helps the mafia win, it's a symp.

 

And that way of getting around silvertongues wouldn't work imo. If I ever modded a silvertongue (which I wouldn't because I hate the LD role), then I would just treat it as being like a Self-targeting Tailor for Lie Detectors. It would be absolutely inane for a mod to allow a situation to occur in which silvertongue has negative utility against the LD.
