New Year's Resolutions

Ahh the memories...this was the first ever thread I posted on in the Kin..and it's time to bring it back with the start of 2007!!!

 

I will start a thread and invite all of you to post your resolutions there and hopes and goals for the coming year!!! The fun..is checking back in on each other with encouragement, consolations and cheer leading!!!

 

Yearly CD!!

Lor already is working on this! Check out her thread, get her your songs and we can groove to the music all together!!!

 

The Kin's Soup Kitchen

 

A wonderful thing happens every January..the SOUPERBOWL!! *grins* nope didn't mispell it either! A grass roots movement started back in the '90's as a way to help empower youth to make a difference in thier communities. The organizers choose Superbowl Sunday...and had youth at church's and community centers collect cans of soup for their local food banks. Since that first collection the idea has grown to be a significant contribution to the hungry, the homeless and the lonely. Check it out here:

My idea is...for each of us to give cans of soup. Some of you may have a church or community group you know is involved and can contribute there. Otherwise, most groceries have a collection box for foods for thier local food bank..or take the soup to your food bank.

 

Wait!! Not done yet!! *grins*

To commerate the Soup event...I would like you each to send me your favortie Soup recipe or favorite side with soup. Personally, I love homemade bread...

PM me your recipes by the 20th and I will compile the Kin's Soup Kitchen Recipes and mail them or email them to you!!!

I don't handmake soup, so you're going to have to cut me some slack there. *smirks* I buy Campbells and call it done! Their potato soups are awesome...

Dessert soups? I love campbells potato soups too..but i have a very easy and wonderful potato soup recipe that you can do..and Dana will enjoy..

I love the soup stuff. I will try to find a soup recipe. And the charity thing is wonderful.

 

Resolution? I hardly have any, ever. I made one last year that I managed to keep, mostly. I don't know if I can come up with another. I suppose I can make the same one again.

 

I will try to be nicer. To everyone. Especially The Love of My Life.

well Jan is my favorite month to do Kin projects!! LOl - and I was able to keep 2 resolutions last year... *bounces* GO ME!! Lol ..I haven't thought of mine this year yet - but I'll come up with some soon!

 

as for the soups - thats awesome.. I'm sure I could find a place to donate it too! *nods* and I'll send ya a soup recepie that I love!

2. I think it would be good to put a page on the website with the recipes, when they're compiled.

 

3. It might also be fun to compile the track listing from the CD(s) that Lor has done and list them as a sort of "archive" on the website.

hey Kiara...how about a page called the Kin's Kitchen....then we could just add recipes as we find yummy stuff...being the NOT tech person at all..how would we do that?

 

Ok got receipses from Kelly, Ty, Dae, Ursula, Tay, Lor...Me...keep an eye out for them in the mail..now about February....
