I love Spring!!!! Everything is blooming and full of life. The colors are vibrant, the trees are flourishing and getting green. The air is sweet from my fruit trees. It's just beautiful!

What is your favorite time of year and why?

I love Fall. I love the smells, the fall festivals, all the fruits and veggies that are being harvested and HALLOWEEN! :)

My second favorite is Spring, though I could do without the pollen. *sighs* Everything is blooming and beautiful, but I pay for my gardening with sneezing and a loss of voice!

My favorite Season is Spring. I love the moderate temperatures, where I always feel comfortable outside and the air smells fresh and full of new grass and flowers. I love the sunshine, but also the warm spring rain (and the thunderstorms! Though I could do without our local weather phenomenon - the tornado. Seems we have warnings for those about 9 months out of the year, since we do. But the major season is April-June.). But I like that the days are longer, because I am very much a 'sun is up' person. I just function better with more daylight.

My favorite holiday though, is Christmas, so I put up with winter too. I love snow. I just don't do well in the cold.

And I love Fall for almost all the same reasons I love Spring. The warm/cool air instead of burning hot or frigid cold, and the wonderful sun and rain, and the fabulous colors of leaves and fall flowers.

I used to love all year, except that living here the summer heat is so extreme that going outside is almost a lost cause after early morning. I am not fond of 110+ days.

I'm exactly the opposite. Fall is my second favorite.

This^^ Me to the "T". Accept the last line. Spring, then Fall have always been my favorites.

I take you live in tornado alley as well? That is the worst thing about Spring here. My husband is from Florida and 9 out of 10 times their tornadoes were little F1s so he's not worried about them. I keep telling him he doesn't want to mess with ours but he doesn't listen. *shakes head*

Yes, I do live in Tornado Alley! Oklahoma to be more precise. Thankfully our particular town doesn't get warnings often, but we get at least two or three a year that send us into the bathroom, or to the local college campus, where they open all the basements of the classroom buildings to students and the local community during tornado warnings (including pets!).

I love the summer, favorite month would be July. Unless I'm in the desert or a very hot area, I really enjoy the warm weather in the summer. I'm more of an outdoors type and enjoy getting out and hiking or hanging out outside on warm summer nights.

fall reminds me of starting school with fresh notebooks and pens the smell... the smell of everything is what i remember most... and planning that this time it would be different and the notebooks would be filled with notes and not scribbles and drawings and whispers and games of battleship and hangman .. the sense of a possibility of a new beginning... starting over and not screwing it up this time... never lasted more than a week, but... just those notebooks and pens and protractors and compasses and rulers the new wood of new rulers the smell and look and feel of them .... i still buy these things in fall for no reason at all.

and the smell of turning leaves, and in the country burning leaves, and the deep blue autumn sky...no blue like that one... the white high clouds, the snow not yet threatening, the cool nights you could sleep on the fire escape... the last days at the beach, the last month in the cabin before they evacuated for hurricane season.  the pines on the beach, the swaying of the hammock that you felt more after you got out of it... could hardly walk after sleping in the hammock under the sandy pines.

starting school only to stop it and stop it and stop it again for all the holidays piled in the fall when the year begins... one of the times when the year begins...

the time when it's finally cool enough to use the oven to roast the birds and bake the bread... when the garden starts to die so fast you can't keep up with the harvest and throw the fence down and let the neighbors and the woodhucks and the rabbits have what they want because you can't possibly use it all... the smells of the kitchen the canning the jellies and jams and pickles and salsas.

the beginning of the long sleep of winter... the last brisk days running the energy off before the dark settles and drains you and closes you into the house to look at the pretty jars full of food you saved the hanging strings of peppers and onions and herbs and the pumpkins curing on the stones outside the cats getting fat and furry again.

autumn makes me cry.  it used to be my favorite season but i know how it always ends now.

i don;t think i have any favorite season anymore.
