Tiink you also pointed out that by Turin giving me a D1 pass basically admited he knew I wasn't a threat. "Blatantly" obvious even. Then in the next post you said it was a way to avoid voting for a teammate. So which is it?

Dap, I just think that voting a person that isn't going to be lynched is wasting that vote for the day. If there is something so egregious in the new player's game then the town as a group could decide to revoke said pass or just agree to vote them the next day. I am not a big fan of the whole FoS thing. It comes across as posturing to me. I say either vote or don't vote.

 

Tiink, actually I would say that you have that backward. You still pay attention to exactly what it was they say and try to get them to explain their motivations. You just don't vote them that day. You want them to be engaged as that will still give information. The fact that they know they are not getting lynched for the first dumb thing they say is an encouragement to get them to contribute their thoughts and to interact with the rest of us so we can make good decisions about who is town and who is mafia.

 

I think that rand is leaving his vote so he can have a vote placed. It is something that mafia like to do because it makes them look like they are actually contributing and looking for mafia.

 

No, actually I'm pretty sure since so many people are talking about the joke vote, people would know that I'm not voting legitimately so it wouldn't look like contributing.  I would be placed in the same category as the rest of the joke voters and the non voters.

People have voted me for unvoting too soon... I'm pretty sure the reaction would have been worse if I had removed my vote.  The situation I was in there would have made people look at me scummily both ways, just because I didn't specify it was a joke vote.  Seriously, I thought that me voting someone because they were too polite would have been seen as a joke vote.

 

But yes, I do get the poking and prodding part, and the FoS on you was exactly what it is meant to be.  I have some suspicion on you, but not enough for a vote.  However, peace is looking much more scummy right now, major FoS on him right now.  And no that's not because I'm scared of an OMGUS, if I voted for him with legitimate reasons, it wouldn't be an OMGUS anyways.

No, I only FoSed you and Dap, and I gave valid reasons, which I previously stated is not an OMGUS.  And you misinterpreted the main reason I bring up what people would have said otherwise.  The reason I said that, is because anyone could have taken my action and made it look scummy.  I was trying to bring up the fact that what I did wasn't scummy, just that the situation itself only gave me the option to look scummy.  And Dap, the only thing I've done in my replies is be over defensive, and that can be town or scum.

Ok so you say we made spmething you did look scummy. People can only do that with things that are a bit scummy to start with. So your next point becomes void as there was scummy there, we just highlighted it.

I agree that you are being a bit overly defensive Rand. I said earlier that I didn't think your vote was more than a joke, but your actions since seem extremely cautious. Even your first defense of said joke seemed calculated, like you're trying to be careful as to how to proceed. Perhaps you're nervous to make certain moves as you've played with these people before, but as Peace already mentioned if you were Town you needn't be worried about yourself. Just play. The worst that can happen is that you die, and even then you'll flip Town and prove to be innocent all along.

 

I like my vote on Tiink for now, but Rand is definitely on my radar as well. I'd also like some input from him on the other players, he hasn't said much other than trying to protect himself.

i think they do, they can be tricked into mistakes, but theydont need to be trying to proof their own posts for scum tells as stuff. Just be careful when you reply, not be goaded or angered, mafia can use that

Yea. Leaving it there is scummy, and if you are town it just helps mafia (especially if he is town as well cos they need one less vote to off him)
