I actually trusted Darthe before this last Day, but Nolder's case was really good and then I started doubting myself again.. Nolder deserved the win though.

WBK: Man you didn't play a bad game. I'll admit you didn't help me run the town much but you didn't get lynched and that was the most important thing you can do. I was really hard on activity this game and like 95% of what I said about it I stand by but I was also doing it to look townie. Lurky scum are borderline acceptable because it is technically a tactic (you can usually tell when it's not, or at least the mod can) and it's on the town to make a game move. If someone is lurking the town needs to lynch them. But this town didn't do that so no worries you didn't drag me down or anything like that. 

 

BTW if you'd like someone to look at your setup for the game you're going to mod and check it for balance and such you can show it to me if you want

I'm not amazing at balance or anything but I'm probably not going to play in it anyway and I could spot any big mistakes if you've made any

Nightmares. That's all you've had during the night.  It's almost dawn and you give up
trying to sleep.  You get up and head for the restroom to splash some cool
water on your face.  Three steps....you trip over something. 
"Dammit" you mutter under your breath hoping no one else heard
you.  Eyes now focusing in the dark you see what you tripped over.  Hallia,
you tripped over Hallia!  'Why didn't she notice' you think to
yourself.  Then panic sets in.  Quickly you check her pulse. 
Your fears are confirmed.  Another one dead. 

Just then someone speaks behind you.

"Hey...what are you doing to Hallia?!!!"

"She's dead." You respond.

"I can see that.  You killed her didn't you?"

Your pulse quickens.  You can see how this looks bad.  "No, it
wasn't me...I...I was just heading....."

Another cuts in, "It's easy to see what you were doing.  You murdered
her!  You're one of the spies!"

 

You stand up from Hallia’s lifeless body to face the others.  “I’m telling
you, it’s not me.  I’m not the spy.”  A flicker of doubt flashes in
Cloud’s eyes.  You jump at the opportunity. 

“It had to be Mish,” you state quickly.  “She’s been the most suspicious
of those amongst us.  I’ve been the one trying to help.  I’m the one
who’s laid awake all night watching for the killer.”

Cloud turns and faces you.  “Well, she claims she’s a doctor, but I’ve
seen no evidence of that.  Nolder…you have been more beneficial to our group. 
It must be as you say.  Mish is the spy!”

Mish looks dumbfounded.  Again those feelings of being so close to your objective
hit you full force.  She’s the one…two more deaths and I will see all the
secrets – You think to yourself. 

Before Mish regains her composer you whip out your pocket knife and slash at her
neck.   You don’t even notice the
blood stains already on your knife.

A gurgled “Nooo,” escapes from Mish’s mouth as the knife slices through her
jugular.  Blood sprays across your face as she collapses.

Silence – You hear nothing but silence.  Cloud crouches to look through Mish’s
pockets.  You hover over him…breathing hard, almost panting.  Knife
in hand, looking like a mad man. 

Cloud looks up at you, “Doctor,” He says.  “She was telling the
truth.  She was the doctor.”  At
that moment, you standing over him…holding the knife…blood dripping from your
face…a vision of madness.  Recognition shows in Cloud’s face. 
Fear…..
 

Then, in the background you both hear laughing. 

“Well done, Nolder.” Vic says as he draws closer. “And you as well WBK.

Confused – Still holding the knife.  WBK? You’ve forgotten about him.

“Don’t you get it?” Vic rattles.  “You are the spy…the killer.  This is all your handy work.”

“No….” you mutter looking at WBK.  He shrugs, smiling.

“Indeed, yes.” Responds Vic.  “You were programmed, Nolder.  You are my pet.  You always have been.  I control you.”

This can’t be, you think to yourself…this isn’t true.  I’m a good person.  I can’t kill.

As if reading your mind Vic continues. “Yes, you can kill and you have. 
And you will one more time.  We can’t show anyone our secrets here…what
better way to get rid of all you curious cats but to invite you all here for a tour?”
 

Cloud stands up, understanding the situation he is in.

Vic looks at Cloud and says, “Kill him Nolder.  Kill him now.” 

WBK grabs Clouds arms.  You knife flashes.  Cloud tries to shrink back but it is too late.  You knife
burries into the side of his neck.  Cloud crumples to the floor. Tears roll down your face.  Disbelief washes over you.  How could I
do this?

Vic laughs……… 

 

Hallia, innocent town had been night killed.

Mish, Doctor has been killed.

Cloud innocent town has been killed.

 

Scum team (spies) Nolder and WBK have won the game.  Congrats!

 

Kudos to Nolder for a very well played game.

 

 

Just a couple of thoughts from the mod. 

 

First, for a 9 player game this had a good amount of activity.  There really weren't any strong lulls in the game.  Every real day had solid content.  As I said to a couple of players via PM..I am happy with the pace.  My next game may require a 50% post rule instead of 25%.  I'll keep tweaking til I feel it's perfect..or close to.

 

Second,  some here assumed things that were wrong and expressed some exasperation based on those assumptions.  The scum team sent in a night kill each night.  And even if they chose not to night kill that is a legit tactic.  I don't know if the thoughts expressed during the game were real or just game play but if they were real, you were wrong.  Town can No Lynch, scum and No Kill.  There is nothing underhanded about it.

 

Third,  In future games NEVER REVEAL YOU SCUM TEAM UNTIL THE MOD CONFIRMS THE GAME IS OVER.  Even if you have it all reasoned out and are sure it doesn't matter you can still be wrong.  I've personally witnessed this take place.  I've also witnessed a town player convince the scum team to out themselves completely thinking the game was over (and it wasn't.)  Not only is it wrong for the game...but also disrespectful to the mod. 

 

I enjoyed modding this game.  I enjoyed all the discussion.  In fact, I think everyone will agree that there were some unique conversations going on in the game.  Stuff I haven't really seen before.  Kudus to you guys.

 

New players.  Those were were expressing difficulty in posting.  Keep in mind it's a game.  It's ok to die or make mistake.  That's the only way you learn.  So just post your thoughts.  The game will teach you.

Peace, a couple things about your couple things

 

1. Activity was strong enough for this game to carry mainly because of me and Darthe (and Red for a bit too). Mish, Hallia, and Cloud did pick up their activity towards the end of the game but earlier they were very scarce. I know each had their issues (internet going out, unsure newbie, sick) but the fact remains they weren't as active as they could have been and I will also say should have been even if you disagree. Cloud for instance posted twice on Day 2. Two posts for an entire game day. That's not good activity.

 

2a. WBK and I weren't exactly planning on revealing it just kind of happened. Lynching Darthe was everything we'd been working towards and even though it wasn't guaranteed victory it was basically the end of the game for us. If Mish blocked our kill we could have in theory tried to argue our way out of the situation. In practice I had no energy left for the game and WBK is sick right now, which is probably why he jumped the gun in the first place.

 

2b. Regarding it being rude to prematurely reveal. Yeah I can definitely see that. Absolutely. At the same time though I don't want anyone to play if they aren't having some amount of fun. If it becomes a chore or worse something that is only causing anxiety/tension/anger/whatever then I would rather that person quit the game. It is rude and it does suck for everyone else but at the same time it's also not right to expect that player to keep playing. That said I'm sorry it happened. Please bear in mind that even though WBK and I didn't feel bad about it happening it still was an accident and neither of us meant any disrespect to you or the other players. We were just in the moment.

Well done guys.  I have to say that at the beginning I brushed this off ( too many games going on) and played horribly for it.  I winged it every time I got on.  However, by the end it became incredibly fun to go back and forth with Nol.  WBK did well for what he was doing, you guys did not have much more room for error as a mafia team and I like that in the end nobody was able and come out unscathed.  Gosh if this mafia team had been Cloud and WBK I would have been livid.  Haha, such is life!

I can't put my finger on exactly why this game wasn't fun for me. It's not peace's fault, it's not individual players fault. I just never had fun for some reason; this game felt like a chore. Makes me sad, because I really wanted to walk away from here with a good feeling. But good game mafia team, congrats :)

Also, this is related to something you were both discussing about halfway through the QT.  Cop.  I think that this game would have been doomed for you all if we had even a 1 shot cop.  I legitimately was considering claiming cop Day 3 and saying I got a guilty on Nol, Cloud, or WBK.  The only thing that kept me from it was that I knew that if I chose wrong (was leaning cloud) that I would cost us the game on the spot.
