Nolder I thought you were doing what you did before, trying to gauge reactions, thats ehy I played along on the other side, did you actually hink that?

Yes I actually believed BG was Symp hinting

This wasn't a move to gauge reactions sorry

Dang it, this was the one time I thought I had caught a hint. I am so bad at catching hints. OK back to gameplay, BG was that a joke vote or a serious vote? If serious, why?

Cause Kae fosing Nolder over this is extremely suspect.

OK gotcha, even though I don't agree with this, but lets see what Kae has to say.

The FoS seems warranted to a degree I think but the skimming thing has always been silly IMO

Skimming is not uniquely a scum thing

And for the record I didn't skim

I just missed it somehow

It was a mistake

Vote Darthe

He had time to check in the game of thrones games several times this morning but couldn't bother to check in here

I'm thinking he's scum plotting something on his scum QT

Posted

I think it's an idea Red has pushed over time

I think the idea is if you are town you somehow care more and are more careful to read the rules or something

It's pretty silly

I would argue the opposite, I feel a lot more motivated when I am mafia to read very carefully and do the right thing, but perspectives I guess.

Just to fix a possible issue that can break the game, here is the town win condition/pm.

You are very thirsty. You are very hungry. Yet you win when all threats to town have been eliminated.

Yeah, I was kind of thinking to use that as a last resort, but now I guess I can't.

Anyways, Peace has specifically said that this game will contain no roles and will be vanilla town and mafia. Not symps! There are no symps. I don't know why you are saying this Nolder but you are completely disregarding what he said. Sounds a lot like fear mongering and trying to get an easy lynch. Strong FoS. For now, vote TGlems for wearing a french maid outfit.

Do I detect a "jealousy vote"? :-)

What do you mean, there is no such role? I bought a costume to get into character and everything. Peace told me to!

You should post pics, mod might give you a BPV perhaps

Basically, if we are at MyLo (mislynch or lose) and we don't want to risk it, we can no lynch and not lynch anyone. It works the same as voting someone, you have to get majority. You can do it at other times, but that is the most common.

That is hardly the most common time no lynch happens.

On 10/19/2012 at 5:20 PM, John Snow said:

Actually, Rand, I find No Lynch is more common when town keeps running up power roles (doc, cop, etc) at the end of the day and need to choose something so it's not random. So they No Lynch

This is a lot more common, no lynch is an underused option when deadline is looming and no good candidate is within reach

LOL

"Missing it" sorta implies you skimmed bro. And it is kind of a funny thing to miss, considering it was kind of stressed in both signups for the game and in the OP.

I wouldn't say it's silly at all.

Mafia start off the game with more info than everyone else. For some, this makes them slightly careless when it comes to remembering details given in thread, but not discussed in the QT.

Town on the other hand tends to cling to any and all info given, since they start off much more blind than mafia.

That being said skimming is a much more minor scum tell than people make it out to be. Some people just skim period, whether they're town or mafia. Others don't skim, and pay attention, but either forget or miss stuff for whatever reason.

THAT being said, there's nothing wrong with others calling out someone for skimming imo. Townies that skim aren't as valuable to town, and people who get called out for skimming tend to pay more attention afterwards, so it's a good reinforcement type thing, and minor scumtells can help determine where you can send pressure day 1. But skimming shouldn't be the cornerstone of anyone's case on someone.

Vote Kae

She knows why

Wait a second, no she doesn't. It's cause I think the blanket fos on Nol, BG, and Snow, was a little scummy

Just FYI I am seriously voting BG

If what he just said was a joke it was of Lenlo proportions

But if it wasn't a joke it was cleverly hidden symp hinting

I for one am not willing to take the chance

BG has to be lynched

This is a roleless game, to my understanding. John Snow claiming cop immediately was something I took as a joke. BG's thing I also took as a joke. But since you are taking it and running with it maybe you are scum jumping on a townie joke? FoS all 3 of you, because I'm not sure what else to think.

The underlined part of this post bothers me as well, seems to be overplaying the "lol I'm townie tho what do I know haha!" card

Oh yeah, I guess I should go ahead and post a disclaimer where I admit Kae always comes off as scummy to me hehe

Still, I think I'm right this time. /nods

I didn't skim I just missed it somehow

It just didn't catch my eye or something

I dunno what else to say about it

If anyone doesn't believe me that's their problem I guess

So the theory goes

I think in practice that's BS

I don't pay anymore special attention to the rules when I'm town or mafia

Do you?

:|

You can't have it both ways Des

Either you agree with this or you agree with that whole whacky theory that town/mafia pay more/less attention

Posted

I think skimming can be a scum tell, but that it's a minor one. I think I made that clear before.

And yes, I do believe that town is more likely to pay attention to stuff in thread than mafia. Mafioso tend to rely on their QT's a bit much at times

Well now you're changing your story because that isn't what you said

You said anyone could skim and anyone could also make mistakes

Those aren't contradictory statements Nol.

Anyone CAN skim. I believe mafia are MORE LIKELY to. Not by a huge margin tho, which is why I said its a minor tell

Posted

I skim if I have bad time, or is in bad shape, but then I usually don't post after, and read trough the parts I skimmed before I post again.

They are contradictory beliefs though

On the one hand you believe the occurrence is an honest mistake that anyone could make from time to time

On the other hand you believe that the occurrence, whether by design or accident, occurred because of hasty gameplay by scum

You can't believe both of these at the same time

Posted

Morning. I'm hungober.

Skimming has been a major scumtell for me since I started playing mafia. Tkhose who scum are often skiming.
