I've been there and it sucks (I might be there myself soon actually my power cord has been acting funny lately)

No, I didn't. I had a family emergency yesterday; I wrote that sentence while waiting for the bus I hoped my brother was on, since he'd run away from home. My mind really wasn't capable of thinking about the game then. There is more important things in life than mafia sometimes...

 

I have to do a total re-read again before I come back with a vote. I have no idea what to think about anyone right now.

 

But I am still waiting on you to answer Nol about what exactly about Rands reasoning this game that was wrong and dangerous. And I find it highly interesting that you refuse to answer me.

I didn't refuse to answer you

I thought I'd made it pretty clear what was wrong with Rand's reasoning but I guess not

To sum it up though (you can go back and reread if you want more detail) Rand was advocating lynching Dice while having no evidence Dice was guilty

He cited there being a "50/50" chance but in reality everyone has that chance to be either scum or town

If you want to get technical like he did you could change the numbers to represent the fact that town outnumber scum but that doesn't change the fact that we all have that same likelihood of being one or the other

When you spend your time arguing that someone has the same chance of being scum as anyone else while also advocating for their lynch what you're telling everyone is that despite what you are saying you think there is something that sets your target apart

Rand fell victim to his own poor reasoning and I hope you and he both realize it now

Damn, this is the fourth time or something I do a complete re-read of this game. Thank God it isn't longer than 42 pages... The formatting has gone a bit wonky, bold, colors ect. disappeared after copying it into TextEdit.

 

We started out as 15 players. We've found two scum and one third party, my guess is then that it's only 1 scum left. It's five of us. That means we gotta be real smart right now. If we mislynch, we're at LyLo tomorrow.

 

I haven't played with Starry before, and only with Dice in one game, so I don't know what is their usual activity level. They have both been quite quiet and content with letting others steer the game for them. Kronos could be just an unsure newbie, or being coached by his teammates (let's not forget Ishy is probably sitting in the QT giving advice) and again letting others steer the game.

 

So, this is my thoughts from my re-read.

 

I still think Nol's (and everyones) reasons for lynching Rand was stupid and pointless; we lost a valuable role over nothing. But doing a re-read and seeing how eager Random was to try and push Rand and Nol as scummates, I've had to throw away my suspiciouns on Nol. This post in particular:

Also, this whole Rand-Nolder thing is too pointless and has been going on too long. The last few posts seem to me to be blatant distancing from one another. They could easily both be scum trying to distance from each other. I don't like it.



This is a better observation than I gave credit. Either Nols is tunneling rand in a scum hunt, or distancing himself from a mafia buddy(but not who BB thinks). Nols has an unverified, non specific power role claim. So... If we lynch rand and he flips scum, this vets Nols to me. If he flips town, I'm think Nols is mafia and a clever liar, and his complete wrote off of my question about BB seems like distancing, to me. There's enough on her to at least say something.
Basically, if Rand flips town, I think we've got two mafia figured out. If he flips mafia, we've got a vet for Nols and one less scum.

cleared Nol for me. This is before I reminded Random that Ishy wanted to push a Rand-lynch. Even after I point that out, Random wants to paint Nol in a bad light:

Besides, Nols has also pushed for this lynch, a claimed town power role.
Even if a scum wanted rand lynched, his lynch is currently the most beneficial to town, in my opinion. As I stated before, it's the information that will lead to either the lynch of a scum (Rand), or out Nols as scum if Rand flips town.
Still interesting in seeing what you're talking about Mish. I went back after Ishy flipped mafia and couldn't find much of anything to tie him to anyone.


You seem awfully comfortable with this. I'm thinking it's cause you know that Nol and Rand is a town vs. town situation, and Rand's flip will get Nol lynched, thus giving scum a two-for-one deal.


So, I take back my suspiciouns and feel 99% confident again Nol is town.

 

Starry. Hasn't posted much and hard to get a read on.


Even if it is a fluff vote,BB, the point stands that in my gut I felt you were lurking. That isn't just low posting, but keeping in the shadows and not trying to scumhunt. Basel and dice have managed to fly under my activity radar so far, that might have something to do with the fact that I'm more aware of when you're posting. FoS on Basel for jumping in, voting with an ok-ish reason and not even addressing any of the other points around. You seem to be lurking too, as BB said. I've heard that seems to be your normal play style, but it doesn't seem very pro-town to me at all.

After this inactivity talk, I'm going to be scarce over the weekend due to limited internet access, but I will be back all guns blazing on Sunday evening. This isn't to say I'm gone, just not as active.


Fence-sitting, basically. Posting to post is the feel I get.


I'm not too sure about a Rand lynch, something about Nolder claiming a power role but no alignment makes me think that he might be the vigilante, not working for either side. Basel's appeared now that he has been called out for inactivity. John Snow is concerning absent, but dicetosser has reappeared now too.


Again, another fence-sitting fluff post, not taking a stance or offering much of his own opinion.

 





Once I started talking about it, we've magically heard from Mish, Dice, Starrik, Basel and WBK again.



This is stretching quite a bit. As you already wrote, Mish posts quite a lot, Wolfbrotherkronos is only new to this game and mafia in general, and dice and I are in a very different time zone to the majority of players here, it makes it hard to keep active when people don't post around the same time I do. You do seem to be trying to link a lot of people together, and deflecting the attention onto others instead of refuting the claims against you. FoS on Random, but I'm not convinced that BB isn't mafia.


The only person Starry has given some of his own opinion on, is BB, who flipped town.

 





I have him that pass D2, and haven't mentioned until right now that this is only my second game ever. Not using it as an excuse, but if it helps clarify some of the stranger things I do, as well as show that it's no excuse, there it is. Just doing my best to scum hunt.
Let me ask you this, Kae. Are you suspicious of anyone else, too?

Random, way to ask something like that at night <.< Even if both of you are town, you're giving mafia a gift package. If one of those Kae list ends up NK'ed, who will llook super suspicious then? Scummy tactics for diverting attention from yourself.


Random asks Kae who she's suspicious of, she says Starry, Kae ends up dead. Now, there is two possibilites here. We have a very jumpy mafia team who freaks out at someone mentioning being suspicious of a mafia member. Or we have a mafia who sees this as a great way of spreading WIFOM. I think the latter is the case. Of course, it might also be a complete co-incidence.

 


So we've lost 3 townies and 1 mafia. There is presumably a doc and a vig/3rd party of some kind. Rand is dropping hints about some kind of role, and Nolder has already claimed a power role. I don't know any other roles we could have in a basic game, so unless someone is lying, then we've got all our power roles.

This screeches scum to me. Either we have Mish, Rand and Nolder all working together in an all-too-obvious scum trio, which seems both stupid and very unlikely, or Random is desperately trying to dig himself out of a hole that he dug for himself. Darthe, you said that you always thought Random was scum. I don't recall you having cased him at all. Or posted a hell of a lot. But my memory stinks, you may have just slipped under the radar. Also, John Snow appeared just at the right moment to vote Random without making any kind of case for himself.
There's enough shady behaviour on Random's part for me to vote Random, but I think I see some other shifty behaviour going on, might be mafia pouncing on a dying friend.


A bit more fluff and pointing fingers all over the place. Could be distancing from Random and mafia with the comment about mafia pouncing on a dying friend; he could be doing just that himself.

 

Starry was hammer on Randoms lynch.

 

Now.... Dice.

 

Dice has had a very, very low activity level. In my extnsive notes from D1 all I have on him is this:

 

Places a joke vote on BB. Jumps into the discussion Rand and Ishy is having over Rand's comments on minimum posting and stuff. On Random's list of players D2, dice has too few posts for him to get a read.

We are now on D4. Here Dice got more active than usual; after barely having enough posts to need two hands to count. This is the day we lynched John. A SK is bad news for mafia as well as town; mafia wants to get SK out. Also, with Random and Ishy gone, third mafia member have to step up and steer town a bit.

 

Next night, no deaths. The things we know about this night is that Nol protected himself, and Rand blockdocced Dice.

 

 

Starry, my gut says is town. Kronos, I'm unsure of; either newb too scared to speak much, or cleverly controlled by the mafia team. Dice, my gut is definetly saying is the most scummy.

 

 

So I am going to vote Dice.

Here's how I feel about things. I don't have hard evidence on anything, just stating how I feel.

 

Nolder: pretty sure he is the healer

Dice: I go back and forth with him. I felt iffy about dice based on what happened to dice, but that pattern did not continue with last nights lynch.

Mish: feeling a little iffy on this one too. Her attack on nolder, who I do believe to be doc is pinging me

Starrik: no idea what to think of Starrik, but haven't really felt he has been terribly scummy

Dice had been hiding fairly well, he'd thought. There had been a moment the previous day where he had been brought into the spotlight, but the crowd had found another target before long, and he had been left free for one more day. He'd made the most of that day.

 

But now he was the focus of attention again, and this time the crowd would not be swayed. Hands grabbed him and searched his pockets, where they found enough to damn him. A scalpel, still tacky with drying blood from his last date... and photos of the lovely women he'd wined and dined, and whose faces had become his.
