New Role Suggestions Thread

who said anything about having that many roles in a game.  But having different roles in different games can be interesting.  I am not a fan of kitchen sink game.

I like Kitchen Sink games for what they are. It's kinda like playing Griff Ball in Halo. It's an amusing way to play made in the framework of mafia. It takes away from the core element of what mafia is about, but fun in its own way. I like to mod them just to watch the ensuing chaos.

 

Then again, nothing compares to a good ol fashioned game.

Which makes no sense.  It adds no value to the game, and only serves to confuse and/or misdirect.  Not the way a mod should be behaving unless they state it up front.

I don't think I've ever even seen one in play

The closest really has been a janitor or that tailor role (someone that can choose a fake role to appear on the coroner)

Janitor is a bad role as well unless paired with something that will verify the results for sure.  You all will see once I run my large bastard game here - but the thing is I'm announcing this stuff up front.

 

Having a role that messes with coroner reports when the playerbase doesn't even know the potential exists is not good.  Why can't people just freakin'  play mafia?  Why must we always try to make it into something that it isn't?

Janitor is a pretty good role to use in Open Setups imo to give the mafia better fake claims. Of course, the very nature of an open setup means that players are forewarned.

If you tell your players it is a kitchen sink game, then fine.  Have at it.  I won't stand in the way of what folks might find fun.
