The Walking Dead: Season 3

edit - SD i didn't hate Lori, but i didn't feel empathy for her. i dislike how she died, only because of the effect it had on Carl, Rick and that she orphaned the baby (which really needs its mothers milk not bottled forumla) they're lucky they were able to score formula, becuase her death was basically a death sentance for that child.

really, i saw her reaping what she sowed between Rick and Shane. what i really disliked about her tbh, is her encouraging Rick to kill Shane and then shunning Rick when he did it.

i'm also glad that Carol is still alive.

Hmm, so that really just goes back to when I had mentioned that a Human bite is pretty damned dangerous (at least to other humans.. and only becomes more so, witha walking/rotting corpse).

Wonder if they ever attemped any kind of medicine to stop it. <_<

Hersh, for example. showed it was possible to break the feaver. >_>

personally, i think this is what the governor is trying and whats in the water/drinks in that town.

i told bubba two weeks ago that the whole phone thing was Rick having a nervous breakdown ... he should know by now that my instincts with these types of shows are 95% spot on

now whats intersting is walker blood for camo. it makes sense and coudl be damned useful. i wonder if they can find out excatly which compound of the walker blood causes the camo effect and extract it from the blood to make a sort of perfume or bug spray of sorts.

you should also beabel to use the Walker blood to creat an anti-body to the disease for future generations. if they aren't already born immune to the disease (which is a great possability imo)

I keep going back and forth about whether I think this show is really something different or just more of the same.  I guess it really varies from episode to episode.  Everybody I talk to is so into Darryl and Merle, but to me those guys seem like the two most cookie cutter TV characters on the show.  Oddly though, Michonne doesn't have the same effect on me.  Maybe she's just far enough out of the ordinary.  We have plenty of motorcycle riding tough guys on TV already.
This is kind of thing is what's currently dragging the book down.  Kirkman seems most interested in trying to top the depravity of his last villain.  Yawn.  Hopefully the show will keep more of its edge.

So far, season 2 has been my favorite.  I'd guess I'm in the minority.  I find it more interesting when the focus is on a group of "average" people trying to make their way and suss out the messy morality and dangers of their extreme situation.  When it's all action I feel like the show loses the things that usually set it apart from the million other gory action shows and movies out there.

That said, I've been liking this season so far, even if they've tamed the Governor story significantly.  I'm very interested to see where the show will go after this season, since it's been based on the book's flagship story arc.  Perhaps they'll start to move further in their own direction and the show will really distinguish itself.

I hate Michonne

She's so boring

Being angry and quiet does not make an interesting character imo

True.  I'm bringing a little bias to her show version from the book version, where she's acquired a little more dimension.  She's still fairly new on the show, so maybe in time they'll develop her.

I actually think her reaction to Woodbury is far more realistic than Andreas.  I think an initial feeling of distrust would be the default for any reasonable person at that point, so her quiet angst makes a kind of sense to me.  It isn't as if you'd be instantly opening up to everyone you meet in that situation.  On the other hand, I can understand Andrea's desperation and willingness to overlook certain things.  I just think that if you knew Merle previously then one look at him in a position of authority would tell you all you needed to know about the place.

So what do you think will be the outcome of the mid-season finale with Merl and Daryl?

And I agree about Michonne being a BA with the katana but I felt that her attack of the governor was a bit unwarranted in comparison to the comics. At least there she had more than a justifiable reason, in the show it seemed just more like a general dislike or mistrust; or the show trying to stick somewhat to the storyline of the comics
