Since it's Final Fantasy theme'd, what's your opinion on putting in items? Or weapons? Tidus acquires Caladbolg he can use a new role. I think it'd bring in some interesting mechanics and scum could acquire them too ofcourse. Might stop it from being a town stomp fest :p

 

Phoenix downs would be OP but maybe new mechanics like casting Haste on someone so they can use two actions in one night etc.

I once had in the Heroes game the superspeed ability to have your night action go in first, or double a night action. Inverse could be where someone is lynched, the hammering player is lynched instead.

 

Also, one could use Relics (like in many DPR games) where there are stealable/transferrable items that give special abilities or enhancements. Cloud's sword could make kills unblockable, while Yuna's dressphere could change a player's finder reading to be anything the player wants. Hell, we could even have a ridable Chocobo where whoever has it is unkillable, but it runs away if you don't feed it.

Honestly, if we had the chocobo mechanic in this game I'd have just screwed all and concentrated purely on obtaining and keeping a Chocobo even if it meant sacrificing you lot to the mafia. #teamplayer

Yeah introducing something like materia in the game would really spice it up. Everyone playing would have to have decent knowledge of the FF games concerned though..

Yeah, next FF game I was thinking of having items in play; materia, weapons, magic, summons, etc. Also, next time, I think everyone needs to have a working knowledge of FF. Next game I'd like to be bigger also, but not sure if that would work if everyone needed to know about FF mechanics.

if a working knowledge of FF is needed i'll probably not be playing then *nods* nothing against the series, i've heard its wonderful, just cant get past my dislike of turnbased fighting to enjoy it and play more than 10 minutes of any of them

items are hard to balance. kae wereyou gonna try with theif plays, Q&A or triggers? Wes, Mynd and Rey are the best to ask about items in game imo *nods*

np. i've only ever modded items once and it failed miserably

 

Rey's Cesar game in the BT a few years ago had items. every night he'd have the players choose one of two areas to go to and that area would have set items/traps he'd release into the game. and it worked out really well from what i recall.
