if anything, it looks like they want BG to reveal his findings, but didn't want to come right out and say that; instead using it as an opportunity to push doubt on his claim.

@Red--Okay, in more detail, then..... I think BG claiming to view someone who was against him and also claiming that they are Lightsworn is very safe and doesn't really confirm his alignment at all, really. Yes, he could be telling the truth, but if he's lying, then of course he can pretty much guarantee that whoever he chooses to say he viewed is actually Lightsworn (alternatively, the name he gives, if he chooses to do so at some point, could be fellow scum in this scenario, just to cover all options I see here).

 

Which brings me to my next thing--he says he wants to wait until the person is in trouble (if they ever are) to reveal that name. Again, he could totally be telling the truth, BUT this could also work very well if he's lying. Because he could 1) conceivably get away with never revealing his choices for viewing at night, which gives us NOTHING to go on in regards to his claim; 2) wait till later to decide who he wants to say he viewed, for best effect; 3) "vet" a scumbuddy who's getting pressure later.

 

I have been very firm in stating that I don't believe BG's claim, so this isn't exactly changing anything for me. Yeah, I'm casting doubt on BG's claim, because I don't believe it. I've actually been sitting here for 10ish minutes trying to put this into clear words, but I'm struggling here, at least with explaining the why's and not just the what's.... Basically, I don't think, if he was telling the truth about his role, that he would have been willing to draw so much attention to himself on D1 that he was "forced" to roleclaim. I also don't like how he went about it--AFTER Nol's call for a cease-fire, he did the breadcrumby capitalization thing and then made a big deal out of it later until everyone asked him to explain what his "super-secret roleclaim" was, and then he was like, "Oh, fine, I'll tell you: I'm a finder. See how my capitalization skills point to this being the case?"

 

I mean, really. It's all very very VERY convenient. Do something weird, get called out for it, go on the offensive to try and distract people, and then major backpedaling when other people agree with the person you're dogging, ending in a "don't lynch me, I'm not scummy, I'm the Finder!! Who just so happened to also be experimenting with a new play style that is pretty much always considered scummy, which I hoped would go unnoticed so I didn't have to reveal...."

Really, I'm also a little worried about it because in a game of 24 people, the fact that I wasn't roleblocked leads me to believe I might have been manipulated. So releasing the info could do more damage than good either way.

im going to disagree with mimi there and im either going to have to think that grins is stupid, malicious, or scum.

 

i dont like this half reveal thing you do. thats twice now. either full reveal something, or dont, dont go half way. that doesnt help the town, but it does help the scum.

 

first you hinted at having a role, but said you wouldnt say until you got close to a lynch. which i find just oh so scumesque. if your the finder, either grow a pair and ride it out until that point, or reveal if you think it will get to that point. half reveals help no innocent, least of all the healer, but do help the scum.

 

also, breadcrumbing? that can be found by either scum or town. if the scum see it but the town dont then you get nked, and the town are like, 'what but how did they get that lucky!'. the only reason you wouldnt be afraid of that is if you knew the scum wouldnt nk you for some reason. like you being one of them. having something to point back to later on in the game and look i did this so i must have that role .. why woud that even work?

 

but its the bit in bold and stuff that sets alarms off. why would you even say that? so its either boyo or mimi. or whatever if you have a different definition of who was against you. why thats bad? its reducing the pool of people that it could posibly be, if your not going to say who you investigated, then dont.

 

even if everybody says its a bad idea not to reveal the name of that player, the mafia have a nice pool to choose from now, and the healer will be conviently on you. and then when they end up nked do we get much from that? no. infact saying that and not revealing it is even worse than revealing it. because then the healer can have the possiblity of two to choose from and trip up the mafia

 

i dont think your stupid grins, and id like to hope your not malicious just because someone was against you the day before, so thats why you have my vote. if you had said i got a lightsworn viewing last night, shall i reveal or go another night, i may have been dubious, but would have left it, but this, this reeks like a disused fish warehouse.

There isn't anything I can say or do to convince you otherwise except to find and kill a mafia member, even then, you'd probably assume it was some sort of clever gambit. Whatever.

 

I'd appreciate it if you want to get me gone, then just get it over and done with. I'm not useful at all if nobody believes me and just being alive is distracting from other scum hunting. The best I can hope for is to get out of the way and hope there is a backup finder since silent roles seem to be handed out quite liberally.

true theres probably nothing that you could have done to convince me that you were defacto innocent (though if you would like to try that find and kill a mafia then that would be very nice), however there are things/ ways you could have gone about things that would have given enough for benefit of doubt. i take it you dont have an answer to why you would help the scum out so much (by giving them that pool of lynchable suspects) if you are town alignment?
