Oh man, I really hope I haven't made the impression that I'm a mafia snob... I like playing here, when I talk out loud about the differences and give critiques, its more me making a mental note of things that will inform how I do things going forward too... trust me, I'm far from elitist. I suck at this game... which is why I'm hooked on playing it. It's like golf. You compete with the field, but you also want to see yourself improve with each outing.

Coorosive, welcome to DM and Mafia!! it's a bit different than RL mafia as a few other players aroudn here will tell you; the only difference really between a standard and advanced game is the type of roles and that there might be a few twist and turns and unexpected traps, but thats all good.

 

you seem like you have the basics (just by reading up on it and playing IRL) down which is great, but really its one of those games thats best learned by jumping in i'm sure you'll do fine, just remember its a game and it's nothing personal *nods*

Thanks Red :) I hope it will go pretty smooth for my first try at online Mafia ahah :P If I need any help with anything I will PC you. It does help that I know the gist of it though Yeah, plus I don't "really" tend to take things to heart if someone accuses me of something so it's all good, I know it's nothing personal :) Stuffing up is gonna be inevitable though, and when I do it will probably wreck the game or something (Which I hope I don't do :/) Has a date been made for the start of the game?

Good to see Corrosive is getting into this game! I am his friend actually, we go to school together. Don't worry, you probably can't do anything on your own to ruin the game or anything like that. If you are the Doctor or the Finder and die early that will make it harder for town to win but not impossible. Same goes for if you are mafia and you die early.

 

The ONLY thing you can do that would DESTROY the game is reveal all your team if you are scum. That would basically be a game-ender. But that never happens lol

Hey--new dude. If you're an important role, try to keep it low, but not too low in order to avoid others getting suspicious of you/the mafia attempting to kill you because they suspect you have nice tools hidden under your sleeves. Contribute as much as you can, and be as helpful to your side as you can; don't intentionally sabotage your side and ruin the integrity/fun of the game, which I know you won't do. Follow the rules and have fun. And if you die really early by some chance, it isn't your fault, and don't think your side isn't going to win because you made a little mistake or something. I've never played mafia here, so I don't know the norms/customs of gameplay, but I've been playing mafia overall for a while now.

you could always redesign the setup to allow for less players if this shortage of willing participants continues.
