Rand, Mat, Perring and girls:P

I am currently doing a (slow) re-read of the series and looking forward to Final book in the series.

 

Then I started wondering if any1 else had noticed how Rand, Mat, and Perrin always seems to think the other 2 are way better at handling girls.

And then i got real geeky and began to write down page's it appeared at lol:P

 

Anyways EotW:

Welcome to the boards! To answer your question regarding quotes - Feel free to post any quotes that are related to your post. This is actually encouraged when you are in any of the debate threads and are arguing a particular view point.

Yes, welcome! As Mark Grayson said, quote away. It's customary to mention book and chapter number instead of page number, though, as those change between editions.

 

And yes, that's RJ's being funny. I still enjoy it (though I appreciate Brandon's writing, humor's not his strong suite in my view). Really, though, it's funniest coming from Mat, who seems to have the best understanding of the do's and don'ts.

Mat has skills, a lot of skills and his insane luck helps without a doubt. Essentially a female version of Berelain, but with more mad skillz.

 

Rand has the POWER OF GREYSKULL/Supreme Alpha male factor. Most beautiful woman ever, losing her head over him and he dumps her like a $10 whore. Berelain, probably the hottest woman of the current Age going after him, he rudely dumps her as well. He has 3 beautiful women in love with him and others he can get at will.

 

Perrin has the big muscles and the kind heart...but nice men finish last. Not saying he has no skills, but he is an omega male, more of a Queen Wolf.

Mat's got the best of both worlds in terms of attraction to women, he has a roguish charm, but has his own set of rules of chivalry, he also splurges a lot of money so has that goin for him bahaha.

Mat - fun to be with, like Birgitte.

Perrin - a bit boring. (Sorry Perrin!) And I'm not a dog/wolf person.

Rand - brings out the maternal in me. (Yes, really!)

 

Of the three, if I were single.. I might marry Rand, but not Mat or Perrin.

The one recurring theme I like is when Rand, Mat, and Perrin reflect on the limits of being Ta'veren; such as "this never happens with heroes in the stories..." Apparently; Hawkwing, Rogosh Eagle Eye, Gaidal Cain, Birgitte, and Jain Farstrider never had to contend with willful subordinates or worry about the politics of a particular situation! No matter the case, it always ends with one of our Ta'veren "Heroes" sighing deeply and wishing they were back in the Two Rivers herding sheep, milking his Dad's cow, or working the anvil at the forge.

That's just part of their naivety. They refer to these instances as "In Stories, this never happens... or that never happens..." When actually, it's just not mentioned in the stories and books. Same for cuendilliar 88
