Shut your mouth when you speak to me!

Mondays are a busy day at work so I don't have time to destroy you yet. Yet.

And what exactly is wrong with multiple trains on day one, bro?

Hello - I'm new here and new to playing mafia. I'm a friend of Kivam's and he said that I need to join this crazy game that he set up because I'm super analytical, I love riddles and things like that and I really like this show. Kivam thinks I'll be good and that my personality is a good fit with some of the veterans. So I hope I meet some friends along the way.

I was told in the simplest form, to look for suspicioius activity and then vote for that person. Seems like there isnt really anything happening here too note worthy, but the JF80 guy voted for someone that I didnt see on the list of players. Is that normal? Does that deserve a vote?

Your obsession with me and my insecurity is laughable... you planning to play this game? Or just embarrass yourself by further scheming ways to further sell your theory that I am insecure... a behavior that punctuates your own insecurity I might add.

BooBoo, depends if they are known by another name. That can be hella confusing. Big thing about Day 1 is that you know nothing, so you have to get out there and make nothing into something. Generally this is done by BSing and by eventually killing someone. Sometimes you get lucky and stumble on something real. This crowd is too experienced in general to be cowed by a day one vote until it gets close to the wire, so a vote for no reason will mean almost nothing right now. So, really, take a stab in the dark for now, and you'll catch on as we go.

BooBoo:

Like overly helpful townies. ;-)

Because I get killed for that either way. I help too much which is scary or not enough which is not like me. :D

Yeah basically. At this point in time. The majority of the game is survivors, so pretty much Any lynch is okay for the majority. If Ape isn't a survivor and he is one of the faction leaders then the game gets a little more simple, because few people are going to willingly side with a faction who is less to start with. So for instance if ape is a stark, then most people will not join te Starks because at that time lannisters out number them. Leaving most people to join the lannisters. If ape is a survivor, then we don't really lose anything, because roles can be purchased.

Spoken like someone with the Cultist agenda.

I was actually reading that waiting for him to reveal. LoL

Not much going on, Jack is starting to stick out so I would call that about normal.

Yeah, that is normal, iirc.

Though the back to back votes went just a touch smoothly. What's up with that?

Silly, boy. I don't think you read my post. Or maybe you didn't understand the colored sentence. There are some times when it is advantageous to not lynch on a day one. It's all about the numbers. Now, my last sentence brings it right to that.

I can tell you with the utmost confidence that won't ever fly with this crowd. While I don't know all of you folks, I know enough of them to let you know you're not getting half this game to vote that way. What can I say, we like spending the first day bickering with each other a lot before eventually killing off whoever has annoyed us the most. It's how we roll.

BG, it was mostly a joke vote, with some seriousness thrown in. Lanth loves to do that on D1, especially as it riles a few people up *raises hand*. He doesn't expect to get a majority on it.

The less likely it is to happen, the more fun it is to push it.

Oh, and I've really got to ask. With it taking 14 to lynch, are people serious about having issues with early D1 BS votes getting up to 3 on a player? Just curious really, particularly since nobody ever seems to really care about D1 votes over on JN until you hit like L-2. Definitely just interested to see how the different play styles end up interacting around here.

I always care about D1 votes. D1 is serious business for me.

Day one votes are always serious, people just don't like to admit it when it's their vote.

We'll have to disagree there. You don't get a death scene/reveal, but that is all you miss. You still vote analysis for every other day one vote, and for the no lynch train. There's plenty of information to be had from each. The only time a no lynch provides no information is when people bandwagon onto it without taking the time to press their options while they have day to do so. But the same can be said about a lynch. Pointles bandwagoning give no more information except the lynchee.

I suppose I could shorten this too "I get info from no lynches as easily as lynches", but then, that wouldn't be me.

Not even a question. We've had games on JN with half as many people as this that have nearly doubled those post counts. Up until Pac's scarface game which just put up ridiculous post counts, I remember every game I modded was breaking the post count records set by my prior games. What can I say, we all like to hear ourselves talk (or see ourselves post... whatever).

TL;DR

Perhaps the reason the games I mod are typically so much longer than the ones I play are because there's nobody in the game combining the content of twelve posts into one long rambling post.

I never combine quoted content into a rambling post. Ever.

  On 8/15/2011 at 5:42 PM, Jack_D said:

Also, to further my thinking. Those who would dissuade from an early lynch like this must be, or is more likely to be on a team with the player up for the lynch.

So... you like those laser fast bandwagon lynches where people don't think, right? That's almost worthy of my vote right there, but that'd be somewhat hypocritical of me. I don't mind saying that I ultimately lean towards lynching you at this point based ont hat alone. Taking the time to think is the basis of mafia, why would one even recommend otherwise?

Anyone can pull info from any day if they try hard enough. My point was that it only provides info on what people did which is subjective. The actual revelation of what a person's alignment was brings it closer to objective. If you let subjective trump objective without a treat to be had, the no lynch is NOT really a good option. I want a worthy treat. And for those who know me, I've stated these feelings before.

Hey, I never said be polite. *giggles at the thought* I have a habit of making general comments then moving them into game relevancy. The general comment was that it's not always a bad thought. The relevant comments were that there is no treat, and I'd rather kill this day.

Meh. Nothing to be "nervous" about... just seeing how hard CTM was willing to sell his case if he got some positive feedback on it. He's already recoiling like the snake he is though...
