Birgette and Mat's face

In rereading ToM, I read the part where Birgette learns that Mat is in Caemlyn. She thinks "He has a nice tush, but his face is way too pretty for her tastes." Considering what happens to Mat's face later in the book, is this a case of foreshadowing here?

I have put forth the theory that Mat and Gaidal are somehow connected through Mat's first death at the end of tSR. Mat's military knowledge/memories and the fact that this is about the time where Gaidal disappears from the world of dreams being the basic supports. But it's really just pure conjecture. I do like the idea though.

Gaidal was spun out earlier in the book.

And I doubt that balefire ever changes one soul to another.

Regarding Birgitte's comment, it could be foreshadowing depending on how the reader interprets it.

Where did balefire come into it?

Mat was resurrected with balefire in TFoH.

Resurrected or prevented from dieing?

Personally I think she would find him more attractive but still not good looking enough; and I think Gaidal was born as the son of one of the Ashaman (I forget his name, whom we are told is so ugly he 'looks like a stump'), with the upcomming battle in the Black Tower, it may be possible that Bridgett will meet the little tyke afterwards (possibly after he is orphaned and she takes care of him or else saves his/mother's life or something)

If she can be disconnected using the One Power, it may be possible she can be reconnected also using the One Power... or perhaps it was some sort of combination of OP and Tel'aran'rhoid... but I wouldn't count out the chances of her getting reattached to the horn of valere.... perhaps she wont even have to get killed first.

both/neither Stitch, its a case of paradoxical logic, that is it simply doesn't work.

His losing an eye won't be enough, his face would probably have to get in a fight with a cheese grater and lose for it to be ugly enough for her, from what I can get of her tastes.

The comment was in response of Andizzle's post.

prevent I would count as somehow blocking the weave from hitting; maybe Rand using Air.

This I would count as resurrecting since Mat did die.

Also, Robert Jordan told that the Aelfinn prophecy of Mat dieing & living again was fulfilled in this event.
