Is "TRUE" source the same as "ONE" source?

In ACOS, TPOD, and WH there are passages that describe the "TRUE" Source. I'm probably just a woolhead, but I imagine that it is somehow different than the "ONE" Source. Am I offbase? Are they different names for the same entity? Thank-you to any and all that can clarify my confusion.

I think you are getting confused by the terminology. Probably reading (in seperate places) "True Power" and "True Source" and thinking they are the same thing. But they are keenly different terms describing unique things.

You have the One Power, which consists of Saidar and Saidin, and it comes from the True Source.

Then you have the True Power, which is an entirely different power, and the source for it is the Dark One himself.

Not sure if the One Source is ever mentioned in the books, I think you're confusing the True Source and the One Power. The One Power is drawn from the True Source. Check HERE, click on the True Source link for more info.

EDIT: You utter bugger, El Oscuro! I typed as quick as I could.

And because of balances, and Yin and Yang sort of thing people think that the One Power stems directly from The Creator but i think this theory has already been dis proven by a comment made by Jordan..

Could you link to the exact quote?

About original post; like others told, the books do not mention a "One Source".

Only three terms:: "One Power" , "True Source", "True Power"

This probably is the page the other poster might have intended to link to:: http://encyclopaedia-wot.org/main/true_source/index.html

Sorry mate, I can't for the life of me remember where it is but I do remember someone stating something of the sort a while back on the forums.

Great thread. I always knew I was confusing these myself but just never bothered to clarify it. I was surfing the forums and saw this. Nice. Usually I would just know which was being referred to based on who was using it or what purpose it was being used for. Now I know the terms.

Yeah, between the 'One Power' and 'True Source', RJ -REALLY- should have picked a better name for the dark side power than the 'True Power'. I can understand why the Forsaken and other DO minions would pick that name, to justify "We are the true rulers of the world, thus wield the True Power", but as the author he should have picked a better name to differentiate it from different names for the light side power.

"Dark Power" might fit it.

We have only heard the forsaken call it the True Power.

I seem to recall Rand or Lewis thinking "their so called True Power." but I can't remember when or where it was in the series
