Does Cads know about LTT? What do you think her advice would be about handling that small situation in Rands head?

Yes. She was present when Semirhage explained the situation in KoD. I have no idea what her advice might be. Run with it, I suppose. I mean, it is what it is, time is short, and what's to be done about it anyway? It's unlikely they'll seek Graendal's aid in reintegrating Rand's personalities, you know?

Well, I'm a woman myself (obviously), but the only sign of strength I saw in the books on the women is their ability to bully the males and the males taking it lying down.

There's plenty of examples of women being completely and totally unjust, irratic, one-sided, etc.

Egwene for couldn't stand men doing even 1/10th to her what she would not hesitate doing to them (eg. she had no problem in switching Rand with the power but then got all ...'oh, the nerve of that man. What right does he have...' when he returns the favor). There's more examples like that, from Egwene, Nyneave, Elayne, etc.

Only a handful of men have shown any backbone:

Mat, Lan (though debateble in my view), Thom, that wolfbrother (forgot his name) and Logain.

The rest just go: 'yes, ma'm. no ma'm'. Djeeeeeez lol

The Aes Sedai mostly have forgotten that they are supposed to be 'servants' of all, not 'master' of all.

The Aiel wise ones clearly make out the true power of the Aiel, though with them there seems to be some sort of mutual respect going.

The Athan Miere: all women that boss people around (quite extremely too)

The Sanchean: again, only a woman can become Empress.

Andor: only women can become queen.

And so on and so on. There's the city where women wear that marriage knife, Fal Dara where the men literally fall to their face on a woman's command, Malkier where women make men crawl on their knees, etc etc etc.

The only place so far where females 'don't' have any say (the other extreme) is with the Whitecloaks.

There's a difference between strength and bullying. Nyneave only gets her way by bullying people. With her stick as a Wisdom and it's not better as Aes Sedai.

I think we also have to realize that Robert Jordan is a guy. These aren't real people, they're personas invented by Robert Jordan. There is bound to be some bias about what women are like when its written by a male author, no matter how hard RJ tries.

Euhm, Mystica dont go all over with the women in the series.

Yes some men think like, let the women have their way when they want it, and when it's important we'll get our way. (emond's field). Yes the womens circle gets a lot done, but still the village council isnt a total push over.

Furthermore, dont forget in this world women are stronger (they are the only ones able to channel at least for like couple of centuries) and man who can channel are feared above all else. This is ingrained in every aspect of this world and has its effects on how men are regarded.

Furthermore Malkier do not crawl, they would be willing to die before harm comes to any woman, but that's something different. They just feel themselves as protectors.

Sea folk... See wedding of Nynaeve, it's quite hilarious I think.

The Seanchan, the last emperor died 500 years ago, women are just more devious than man (during the last 500 years I guess). Furthermore, they have been followers of Arthur Hawkwing...

Andor yes, but well if you want to make sure the of the inheritance then you should always use queens.

The Aiel, as the wise ones are the only ones that can channel they have the power to devastate and annihilate the aiel if they get themselves involved in wars and the like. So they form groups and keep themselves out of feuds. Still leaders of the entire clan are always men. (Sevanna isnt leader of the Shaido, she's just the wife of the last leader).

Even in Ebou Dar there is an devision in what the husband does and what the wife does. Anan didnt tell her husband where to fish as long as he didnt tell her how to run her inn. But well the law states in Ebou Dar that a woman can kill her husband, it's probably a bad joke from RJ to reflect what is happening in our own world, although just the other way around, but well it's fantasy so you can create your own world with your own rules.

The wolf brother is called Elyas btw.

Yes Bob, you will be wrong, do not go into the woods alone.

WoT women are all strong, nasty, feisty, manipulative, brave, arrogant, funny, passionate, compassionate, and snappy dressers. Then again, so are the men: Mat's hat, Rand's dragons and Perrin's axe. Sorry, the point is that many times there is no difference between how a man or woman will react. In Wheel World if you are brave or smart etc... you behave accordingly, whether you are male or female. Okay, men don't seem to sniff or tug as much, or at least not their hair.

I enjoy the strong women characters, RJ writes them well. The men are sometimes deferential but hey, women can set your hair on fire with a weave, so deference = smart.

Thanks for all the help with the Cad's warder questions you all. See, another reason to like Cads, she loved her warders so much she hasn't replaced them yet with any of those cute Asha'guys.

That's why I stay at home and cower under my bed all meek and mild.

No woods for me. No siree, ma'am. Yes, ma'am. Whatever you say, ma'am.

Stand up for myself? How? You're always right about everything.

Can ya begin to understand why most men walk around in a daze? If we do, we're wrong. If we don't we're wrong.

Necrophorus, you are right, of course. lol

I was just pointing out times that the women in the book irritated me with their bullying and unfair ways of thinking (and you can't deny there have been plenty of times). I'm a woman, but that bugged me.

Of course, you are right pointing out the things you did. They do balance it out. But I've always been a sucker for the underdogs (if that is the correct word)and I never could stand bullies (male or female). So it still kinda' tugs me when I see it (even in books :p)

Thanks, I realised the name of Elyas later on. ;)
