I decided to only re-read day 4 for now.

I didn't find Anox's vote on mcs scummy, but the reaction which I found defensive did ping a bit.

Verbal is very quiet which is different from how he usually plays.  Most likely he is just busy, but may bear watching.

Barm pops in now and again to comment on someone.  I thought his vote on Anox for OMGUSing a small ping given it's day 4.

I am firmly WIFOMed about Alys.  Helpful or trying to distract?

mcs has seemed most generally scummy.  This...

Bah. My DPR vote isn't getting anywhere... unvote

And Alys is really giving me a pain in my gut....

Alys

was what caught my attention the most.  There is no deadline or pressure of any kind yet to switch votes.  It gives the impression of not being too worried about who he is voting for.

[glow=red,2,300]Unvote

Vote mcs[/glow]

Also not sure if this has been mentioned, but couldn't the sacrifice be the mafia themselves?  After all if they are all dead they can still win in the Vessel is alive.  So five (given that someone mentioned 5 was an important number somewhere in the thread) mafia deaths plus living vessel = some terrible dark creature that I can't remember the name of comes to kill the rest.

P.S.  Did you ever go through a re-read hit quote for some posts to use in your next reply and then forget why you quoted them.  I do that all the time lately.   :P

BTW, I'm looking around going "why is Jeran unvoting" until I figured it out  :D

Vote Count

DPR (2) - WWWwombat, Danya

Alys (1) - DSworn

Barm (1) - Quibby

Anox (3) - Nae, Barm, Hybrid

MCS (7) - DPR, Pookie, Anox, Lavinya, Danya, Alys, Jeran

Umm... I'm doing yet another reread, and I just thought I'd share something rather weird I just noticed.  I'm not sure what it means, but each time an innocent neared the lynch point, they were lynched with a relatively large number of votes left to get.  With Al Jenn, it was 3.  With Crusher, it was 7.  However, this was not the case with the Thorum vote; we had to get all 12 votes to lynch.  I'm wondering if the cult has some sort of ability where, if more than one of them is on the same vote, they get additional votes.  If so, we only have two names that come up in both innocent votes: DPR and Barm.  Thoughts?  Corroboration?  Accusations of paranoia and/or insanity?

It could be.  It could also be some sort of day ender ability like a governor, except that instead of day just ending, the person with the most votes is lynched.  I'd lean towards that option, since 7 votes made by cultists who happened to vote on the same person seems rather ... overpowered.

If it's a day ender ability, I'd lean towards it being a relic by process of elimination.  A multiple shot day ender ability in the hands of the mafia is overpowered.  A multiple shot day ender ability in the hands of an innocent isn't, but what sort of innocent would end Day 2 so early?  They'd have to be either hugely suspicious of Crusher or hugely protective of DPR.  And why have a couple of one shot abilities, innocent or mafia, when you have relics?

Wes is being a smart arse, mostly to entertain himself while waiting for you to come on and post, and try to save MCS from being lynched.

I just gave you cooties  :-*

lol, i have you flabbergasted, huh, jeran? i know it is not helpful, but it amused me.

quibs, not sure. now that i type that i don't remember why i told myself to  tell you that.

dpr thing- i know it is not likely, but he is acting like a jester. but it does not fit the theme.

kivy, took me a minute too. forgot pandy had popped up for a bit a while ago.

was there something about smarmy barmy? brb, i guess.

Reread notes, day 1.  (This is Quibby-thought.  Feel free to pick apart or corroborate.)

Early in the game, Barm finds defense from Alys, DPR, and Aemon.  Alys spends a lot of the first day defending DPR, while repeatedly suggesting or outright saying that she doesn't trust him.  She then goes on to say something akin to "save the clinch players," whatever that means.  Potential good cop-bad cop against Al by Alys and DPR begins.  Hybrid begins to question the Thorum bandwagon, citing that he doesn't like it.  *PARANOIA TIME* Alys patronizes me, and has done so through entire game.  Making use of a resource, or lulling me into false sense of security?  Possibly working.  Must investigate further.  *END PARANOIA TIME*  When the pressure starts coming on with the Thorum bandwagon, Alys mentions her plans to change her vote away from Thorum.  Part of this argument used to lynch Al Jenn the first time.  Both Hybrid and Barm jump in to defend Thorum.  The bandwagon begins to disperse.  Alys unvotes with the sudden rush of people leaving the Thorum vote.  Lavi and Anox leave Thorum vote when everybody else doesn't care about it anymore to notice.

Entire argument probably tainted by hindsight, but I'm inclined to think that I'm onto something here.  Maybe an insane conspiracy theory, but still...

Taking a chance on paranoia and telling gut to shut up.  [glow=red,2,300]Unvote Barm[/glow]  [glow=red,2,300]Vote Alys[/glow]

figured it out. quibby, i think paranoia has gotten you there. who was it that said occam's razor?

and it was jeran i meant to say not sure to. it bears thinking about. but it seems kinda odd to condition that the mafia kamakazi when we might be able to stop them. on the other hand, there are several people who seem to have posted a please kill me sign at some point. others would probably count me among them.

Nonetheless, I'm content to sit here and watch for a little bit.  I didn't see anything in day 1, hindsight or otherwise, that makes me think MCS is the right way to go.  That might change as I continue the reread, but I can't come up with a good reason to vote for him based on it.  I came up with a decent reason in my own mind for you, at this time.  Again, only based on day 1, so subject to potential eventual change.

paranoia time was fun. meh. i already told you to kill me. i think i am not going to argue it because frankly all game the votes have swung and reswung over and over. i have hardly doubted you all game and that's all i have to say about that. take it as you will.

aemon, what makes you think players are using relics they don't know the effects of? there has been witness evidence that they should have a clue such as quibs assertion he picked up a not pro town one.

I believe that many of the relics do not come with an instruction guide so to speak. I believe that they must be used to know the result. As to Quibby knowing his was anti-town, he probably used it and found out what it does.

aemon, were you going to explain about the dog and the homework you quoted with the vote count?

I was trying, within the boundaries of my PR to let you know that my vote had been taken away. No one picked up on it the first time I said it so I quoted the vote count and did it again. Since no noticed or seemed to care I just let it drop. No big deal to everyone else, but if someone is out there eliminating votes, I'd say we have a problem.

I numbered the questions in your quote just to make refrencing easier.

ok, no secret anymore. aemon is the one that keeps grabbing me.

1. he attempted to distract from move on thorum day one by reviving quibby vote.

2. posted the controversial bamdwagon theory that set off the argument with verb and nae. following this, we get prs.

3. ds called it a gambit, but he also called dpr and i one and lavs finder claim one.

4. this argument leads to a tiff with dpr where he calls dpr funny looking.

5. he was pretty high strung seeming through this all.

6. thorum found tiny reasons to vote him each day.

7. aemon seems to forger his pr several times. made me wonder if it was a made up ploy.

8. says verb know. what does verb know??

1.

All right. Let's talk. I think we can all agree there had to have been at least a few baddies on the Al Jenn bandwagon. Any suggestions on who they might be? A lot of people seem to think the peopkle more toward the middle are the likely bad guys with maybe one more at the end to put in the hammer. I don't kniow about that. Day 1 being Day 1, I think it's just as likely that a townie put the hammer on Al. I have nothing to go on in the Day 1 posts and I have just done a complete reread. With this lack of new insight, I will probably continue Day 2 with the same vote I had on day !. I have no "gut instinct". There is nothing "scummy" that I can see about him. But the same applies to everyone else. The only thing I can say is he was on the Al Jenn bandwagon and he is a middle voter. I know that means nothing in the final analysis, and I fully expect people to question me on it, but I'll just tell you the same thing I just said. I will obviously change my vote if something suspicious shows up, but if not...

I mentioned in passing on night 1 who I would probably vote for. This hardly distracted from the move on Thorum as I then got into an argument with Nae and voted for her rather than Quibby. At this point, Thorum had not even been mentioned for a day 2 lynching as we were still in night.

2. In my defense, I had no idea that was going to blow up. You suggested that we start talking so I made a post with my thoughts and ideas. That was the only thing I wanted to do. Then I started having a bad day at work and took Nae’s post to be an attack (now that I’ve reread I see that it really isn’t) and I attacked back. Too much. My fault entirely there, and I apologize to Nae, Verbal and Wes for my rude comments. I need to learn to keep my mouth shut when I’m pissed off.

3. I also called it a gambit just trying to get either Nae or Verbal strung up. Like I said…I was pissed. No gambit. Just bad judgment on my part.

4. In that post I was actually calming down a bit and just wanted to clown around with Wes. If he didn’t take it as clowning, I will apologize to him.

5. Again, you have no idea how pissed I was at the time, and it had NOTHING to do with the game or any of the players. Just a really bad day at work.

6. Thorum voted Al Jenn on day 1 and on Day 2 he voted me for the 4 page fight among myself, Nae , Verbal and, toward the end, Wes. Then he got himself lynched and ended day 2. It’s actually a pretty good sign that he voted me. He turned up scum.

7. Every post I made was in the form of a question. Do you think Kivam would hesitate to modkill me if I broke PR?  I don't think so.

8. That was when I was still pissed and trying to get suspicion thrown onto either Nae or Verb. That was why I threw a vote on Nae and then Said Verb knew what I was talking about. I was hoping to either get a bandwagon on Nae or, if people thought I was scum, drag Verb down with me. Neither worked. Obviously.  ;D

Aemon, sometimes a role comes along that makes you question why you would ever even use the role, as it stands a better chance of hurting you and the town than it does of actually doing anything to the mafia.  Sometimes, this role expires after the first use, like a one-night vigilante role.  Other times, it's a perpetual role.  The relic I had was one of those ones that was better off unused than used.  That's what I mean by anti-town.  If the relic said it was anti-town, I wouldn't be able to say it without being mod-killed.  It was my interpretation of the relic's purpose, rather than an actual, stated fact about it.

aemon, no reason, just a vote? hate those. no defense, just kill.

point 1 was from day 1 not night. i tracked where 1st day votes went as they moved. he voted three players, i think. i threw that page away.

6. i tracked the changes. thorum voted you first. him being scum makes it a through and through wifom. the suspicion part comes from him trying to hide ed in the bandwagon argument. it is why i mentioned it half the thread ago.

7. yes, i expect kivy to warn players. i know he does. inside he is all cuddley and stuff. ask him.

8. wow. and that is why you ended up on so many lists.

When I saw Wes claiming that he gave a relic to Nae I sent a PM to Kivam asking if that was possible, as I did not find anything about it in the PM Kivam sent to me at the start of the game explaining how to steal relics, or in the first post in the game. Kivam told me that this was not in fact possible, and should have been stated specifically in that initial PM he sent out.

So Wes lied, Nae is getting nothing from him.

To me, Kivam's posts about inactivity imply that Verbal is simply busy.  He mentioned Alanna and myself as the most inactive players and the most in danger of being modkilled and stated that everyone else had reasons for their inactivity.

Plus, if I can indulge in metagaming a little, I've seen Verbal lurk early game both as town and mafia, and he's never been this inactive.  Either he's busy, or there's a silencer out there.

Either that or by "gave" he meant "let her steal."

Quibby- What I'm unsure of is if you knew the effect of the relic when you got. Did you also recieve a PM saying "this relic wil bla bla bla"? Or was it necessary to activate it?

Alys- I know I pinged a hell of a lot of radars when I lost my temper. It's one of the reasons I dropped out of sight for awhile. I needed to calm down and hope that others would calm down.

aemon, no reason, just a vote? hate those. no defense, just kill.

I didn't understand this part of your quote. Did you mean my vote on Nae? Or my vote on Quibby? Those are the only 2 votes I've made all game.

*has experienced role aspects that should not be used*

Can you elaborate?

AHAHAHAHAHAHAHHAHA I GOT AEMON TO POST AFTER ME AHAHAHAHHAHAHAHAHHAHAHAHHAHAHAHHAHAHHA

Too bad I wasn't trying to steal his relic.  I think he probably already used it anyway.
