well.. at least I am completely against the no lynch.. Dont know yet who I want to vote for, but at least my vote is NOT no lynch....

No Vote is scummish, at best... There is no info to be gained at a no vote whatsoever. Even random lynch due to lack of votes is better, info-gathering-wise. At least IMO.

Ill have my vote in before it gets too close to deadline. I actually have the day off tomorrow....

I'll [glow=red,2,300]Unvote[/glow].  My mnwhiterose vote was pretty weak as I said when I cast it.  The responses to my vote had a hint of town to them, but as it is only day one I'm not reading too much into them.

I don't like a random lynch either and while I've never encountered a non-lynch situation, I don't think I like it either.

Looks like the best bet now is to [glow=red,2,300]Vote cosmicpanda[/glow].

Sorry folks, my laptop broke soon after I posted in the game and I've just got to reading this now. However I'm running on 4 hours of sleep and Verby's and DPR's and Pandy's logic/posts are kind of...blurring in my head. I can't think logically at the moment. I will be on tomorrow to vote though.

The thing I don't like about first day votes is if you are innocent and happen to vote for an innocent you instantly look suspicious even though you aren't mafia. And the "proof" is that you voted for them on a day when nobody know's anything but the baddies.

Verby and Pandy are dingy my scum-radar though. Maybe they'll look more innocent after some sleep?

See y'all tommorrow.

Did you not read my last sentence!?

Clarify please.

Dude, you're attacking me for taking the exact same position as yourself:

I would rather have neither, and lynch you instead.  :D

I also would rather have neither scenario, so, [glow=red,2,300]vote cosmicpanda[/glow]

Honestly, try being me for five minutes - talk about confusing. *facepalms*

Perhaps voting for yourself would solve your inner dilemma?  ;D

Or, you could help the game by following your own advice and voting for Pandy. A majority lynch would be the best outcome, right?  Here's your chance to walk your talk.

But don't worry, you just dissemble more and you and Pandy's plan to distract everybody so that we don't get a majority will work just fine.

I'm sure you'll be pleased when a random player is killed  :P  You'll probably squee if it's a power role.  :P :P

Needless to say, I've got my eye on those who are not voting. I'm bothered by Nyn, who says that she does not have time to post, but is active on other boards.

Why would I be pleased if a random player is killed?  You are putting words in my mouth.  I just put that scenario ahead of a no lynch - simple as that.

Between you and Pandy, I find you more suspicious, so I'm keeping my vote on you.  Granted, I will not let a random lynch occur because I was the one online who failed to be the hammer for a town-directed lynch.  That would be stupid of me, and I am not stupid.  However, Pandy might get a majority without my help, so I'll stand pat right now.

After reading the thread again (and giggling at Verby and DPR's logic exchange) I think it's best to go with a lynch. At the very least a lynch we control will give us information. I'm going to go ahead and put the final vote on Pandy and hope it can give us some good info for tomorrow and take out a mafia! He has seemed the most suspicious to me.

A lot of players choose not to vote on day 1, or vote No Lynch because they don't have any information yet and an innocent almost always gets picked. I always vote on day 1 because it is the only way to get people to talk! Otherwise you just burn a day. I think it is very common to just throw a vote out there to start with and then change it depending on people's reactions.

In this game, we have a deadline of 72 hour days and a random kill if a majority vote is not reached. So I tried to do two thigs by bringing up the No Lynch vote. First, you know that somebody will bring it up, so its best to get mod clarification when you still have 48 hrs to debate it and avoid a last minute panic - what if Leelou chose not to allow it? I've seen it done. So go ahead, put it on the table and deal with it. The second reason is that in this circumstance, it is always better to play it safe. Why take a chance on a power role getting randomly killed when you can avoid it?

I'll leave with one observation - it has been my experience that 1st day majorities very rarely end up in a mafia lynch. [glow=green,2,300]It is usually the innocents tearing each other to pieces[/glow], so no matter what happens, I'm sure that we have some lurkers who will bear close review tomorrow. The best thing for the innocents is for everybody to speak up and vote.

First bold part: Isn't that how the bandwagon got started on Pandy though?

Second bold part: I can understand the logic in that, it just stuck out to me a bit.

Third bold part: So wouldn't the odds say that Pandy is an innocent? I know what you're going to say: "A bandwagon was started on Pandy and I supported it because I want information, not a No Lynch which would give no one anything for a case against anyone. And besides, no one was really supporting a no lynch. With no one supporting a No Lynch I had no choice but to vote on the person holding the most votes, Pandy, to help in acquiring a majority vote. There would most probably be an innocent random mod kill if a majority was not reached or not enough people chose to go No Lynch...which would be giving us no info." So by math equations you have put forth and your entire argument as a whole would lead me to believe that taking down Pandy is taking down an innocent...thus the innocents tearing each other apart...or maybe even being subtly led by the nose by mafia. But are you saying that it's worth it to have a small chance of taking down a mafia in Pandy, or take him down as an innocent to get info? We have a majority vote on him...there's a small chance that anyone is going to pull their vote off of him this close to the deadline. What if we do lynch him and he turns out to be the healer or the finder? That might bring SOME useful info...but it could cripple the innocents all throughout the game.

And here's another thought: A majority vote for a No Lynch could bring info as well. We could take a look at who vehemently kept their vote on someone when the tide was turning towards a No Lynch situation. Also we could see who agreed with the No Lynch and turned to that option...and how quickly they did it. I'm not exactly for it or against it, I'm just saying that it could yield some useful info.

As the shock of this morning's sight started to wear off, a shouting match ensued.

"No one can leave until we figure out who committed this heinous crime."

Murmurs began, that changed into full blown accusations.

"I think it was Wes," someone shouted.

"No, it must have been pandy," someone in the back chanted.

It went back and forth for hours until finally a decision was made.

Pandy, the SFX Master (Bulletproof), has been lynched and pronounced dead.

Day has ended and those still left alive huddled in the center of the studio, afraid to close an eye in fear of them being the next on the list.

Night actions are due in 48 hours (Sunday 5:30 pm EST).

Final vote count:

cosmicpanda (8): CUBAREY, Talya, mcs0083, Wes, Hybrid, Jeran, Dark Justice, Liathiana

Wes (2): cosmicpanda, Verbal

NO LYNCH (1): mnwhiterose

Jeran (1): Naeann

Jesus, I make a joke vote then stay away for a couple of days and find that the town has followed my advise!  Oh, well even if I would have looked in before the deadline I would not have derailed the lynch as a mindless lynch is still better then a Mod Kill in my opinion. In any case I will be reading and studying the 7 pages of posts since my last post for any clues.

I'm going to make a few day 1 observations:

1. The death scene does not list an alignment.  Pandy is described as "bulletproof", which is most likely innocent, but it's worth noting.

2. Blig has made a few observations which are strongly playing toward an innocent appearance. And he did not vote. But I think the questions he brings up are pretty much common knowledge, and Blig has played in his share of games. - For instance, why act like you don't know that if a Finder or healer were about to be lynched, they would reveal? You never lynch a revealed Finder or Healer for that very reason. There are a couple of other points here that bother me, especially since he claims that we could get info from a no lynch vote. Not good.

3. Nyn and Sarayne never showed up to vote. Out of the three non-voters, chances are very good that at least one is mafia. It's an age old technique and we have too many smart players on the field not to use it.

4. There are a few other low-layers, but at least they voted. It's way too early to make any call on them, but we will do well to keep close track for future ref.

Anything that anyone else can add is helpful. What else did we see?

The only thing I have to add atm is;

It is weekend. It is sunny outside. I have cold beer and the entire "chronicles of Narnia" to read through... chances are you wont see much of me today.-..  8)

Nynaeve has asked to be replaced. Peacesells will be taking her place as of now.

Also, just about 22 hours for night to end and I'm still waiting on night actions.

Granted, I was debating on putting that last paragraph in there. I knew that someone was going to say SOMETHING about it but I decided to go ahead and type it in to give my opinion on a No Lynch situation. Plus, it has been a while since I've played a Mafia game and my thoughts are mostly on passing my end of course exams. I truthfully had not thought about a Finder/Healer revealing him/herself in order to not get lynched.

But what about this? If someone reveals themselves to be the Finder/Healer in order to not be lynched right before the deadline and a rule of thumb is to pull your vote off of them because they JUST MIGHT BE the real thing...then...couldn't it just be a mafia trying to save his own skin?
